Good place and nice atmosphere flavorful dishes Just the beef tongue is so chewy but besides that everything is so good.

I love when restaurants stay open late. I had the shishito peppers and the Motsuni (beef stomach and vegetables cooked in miso soup). The sushi was amazing, you honestly don't need any soy sauce.I wasn't sure if I was going to like the beef stomach, but the seasoning really complemented the texture and I ended up wanting seconds. The bar is the best spot; you meet cool people and can talk for hours. The waiter was also pretty laid back, which added to the chill vibe.

So much good packed in to an unassuming strip mall. Oh and they're open until 2a! To call Yama Sushi a dive is not accurate although it may feel like one. This is the real deal with no frills or fancy decor just excellent food and super service. I was skeptical when walking up but when the doors opened I knew I was in for a treat. Somehow it was Happy Hour but then again maybe every hour is happy here. We ordered a pitcher of beer and sake along with the Pork Belly $3, Spicy Edamame $6, and Spicy Cucumber $5 while we mapped out our culinary adventure. Some Shrimp Tempura $10.50, a 5 Treasure roll $17, Sashimi 7 $60, and a couple more rolls along with more beer and we were pleasantly full. The presentation was good and the fish was great.

I really want to give this place a 5, simply because of its authenticity and ambience, but after trying it several times I just don't feel like the value is there. There's no doubt that they have a great menu with many things that others don't, but I just can't help but feel a little unsatisfied with the value for the price. I feel like their quantity is a little bit on the small side. Service is great but I feel like it's a better place to go throw back a couple beers and get some appetizers rather than try to have a filling meal.

Everything was delicious and reasonably priced! Our favorites were the 5 Treasure Cucumber Roll and Shishito Peppers. The Octopus Tako-Wasabi doesn't look appetizing or great in photos but tasted amazing. Everything was beautifully plated, the restaurant was lively for a Tuesday night, and our server was exceptionally attentive. We'll definitely be back!

Yama is my go to for late night grub. The Yellowtail sashimi is one of the most buttery and rich pieces of fish I've ever had. And for my pasta, I can't ever forget to order the Seafood Creamy Udon noodles. Im transported to pasta heaven every bite. They even have a happy hour menu from 10 PM- 2 AM. While you wait for your food you can grab their strawberry Chu-hi cocktail (and other flavors) for just $3 and trust, they get you feeling nice and bubbly!

Open late and a breadth of choices spanning from Chinese to Japanese food. We came in a little late on the weekend and the place was still pretty busy! Our food came out quickly and was tasty. We particularly liked the beef flat noodles and salmon maki rolls!

WHAT I ORDERED: Salmon Nigiri, Eel Nigiri, Crawfish Nigiri, Spicy Salmon Nigiri, Louisiana Roll, Philadelphia Roll, Spicy Salmon Roll, Beef Tendon, Chicken Karaage, Black Bean Sauce Clam, Salt and Pepper Tofu, Chicken Gizzard, Pork Belly PARKING: Parking lot with plenty of space INSIDE: Came here for late night happy hour, which is between 10pm-2am every night, and was seated right away. As you walk to the table, you can see the bar and chefs preparing the sushi. Multiple booths run along the wall with tables in the middle. Bathrooms are available near the back. THE FOODS/DRINKS: The salt and pepper tofu is a must, it has a nice crunch while the inside is still soft and the flavoring is simple yet delicious. The black bean sauce and chicken karaage are also dishes you can't go wrong with, there's usually basil with the chicken karaage but they must've forgot it this time. There's a limited amount of rolls on the happy hour menu but not bad for the price.

A lot of sushi place doesnot have wasabi tako but they have! A lot of selection and even have sweet shrimp. The Hokkaido chirashi is very very good. We ordered some pork belly and it's great too.

FOOD - Takoyaki - Buta-Kimchi - Seafood Creamy Udon - Scallop Volcano - Double Pleasure - Three of a Kind The Takoyaki was pretty good. It was very crunchy on the outside which was really yum. There was also a decent amount of octopus in ours as well. The sauce was evenly and well-drizzled. Not too much bonito flakes. So overall a great dish. My mom really liked the Buta-Kimchi. It came out very hot and was cooked well. The flavor of the Kimchi with the pork tasted phenomenal and the egg on top just added more pizzazz to the dish. Loved! The Seafood Creamy Udon was also really good (my dad's favorite). It was a little more on the runnier side but still good. There was a generous amount of sauce which mixed well with the noodles. Also served with an assortment of different seafood. A very rich dish but pretty good! The Scallop Volcano was super tasty. Very generous amount of scallops on top and perfect amount of sauce to not make the sushi soggy. The sesame seeds and smelt roe on top also made it very good. I would recommend this dish for sushi lovers and to those that are not too fond of eating raw fish. The Double Pleasure is a roll with tempura fried shrimp and then topped with avocado, salmon, and spicy tuna. I liked the combination of everything. All the fish tasted fresh and the tempura was crunchy inside the role. Fresh and vibrant-colored avocados. The Three of a Kind roll is a spicy tuna roll with salmon, crab, avocado, and wasabi mayo on top. It definitely did not taste spicy at first, but after a couple bites it definitely does get hot. The fish was fresh and the roll gives you a variety of different raw fish to try on the top. Great combo and enjoyed eating. VIBES There is plenty of seating around the restaurant. There are booths, tables, and a sushi bar area. We went around 5 or 6 PM and it was pretty crowded so a little more on the loud side. The TVs mostly had sports on them and the music was pop music from the past decade. The lighting is a bit on the dimmer side with most lighting coming from the window at the time. Overall pretty good place to casually meet with some friends to chat or just to hangout on a Friday night with family. SERVICE Service was overall good! Food came out fast and our waitress was nice. She checked in on us multiple times to make sure everything was going well. No complaints here.

    Do they take a reservation?

Hi, yes we take a reservation over a party of 4 people. Thank you

Do you have $1 sushi night? If so which night is it? Does it apply to take outs?

    No.

Did they get rid of their yakitori on their menu?

No - we used to be presented with a small sheet of the grilled menu and I think they forgot but they do still offer it!

    What vegan options are available?

Tofu roll, seaweed salad, soups, etc. Their menu is online.

Are there any peanuts, walnuts or pecans in their food?

Not to my knowledge, as far as I know they use sesame and canola oils though

Are kids allowed to eat here ? Or it's a bar?

Kids are welcome, there is a main dining area with sushi bar, also a separate bar area

How is the Ramen in this place? I need GOOOD ramen after coming back from Japan.

This ramen is awesome! Very rich broth and delicious noodles. Wonderful presentation and the scent is to die for!

They were not only beautifully crafted but absolutely delicious--each sip had us dreaming of swaying palm trees, ocean breezes, and a Hawaiian getaway. We loved both the Mai Tais and the Beachy Bookkeeper! We decided to share a few appetizers. The Meatballs al Forno was my favorite...packed with flavor and perfect for enjoying with friends over drinks. The Heirloom Tomato Burrata was okay however, the tomatoes didn't seem ripe and were hard and chewy. The Lobster in a Jar was tasty - on the pricey side if you ask me though... One of my favorite things about this spot is the ambiance. The lighting is low (and by low I am flat out dark where you almost can't see your hand in front of your face), creating a dark, cozy, and intimate atmosphere that makes it easy to relax and unwind after a long day. Whether you're catching up with friends, enjoying a date night, or simply looking for a place to escape for a few hours, the vibe here is spot on. The service was fantastic as well. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed, which only added to the experience. Tiki Tuesday has officially become one of my favorite weekly traditions. A large table in the middle of the bar was filled with children sitting on their iPhones while waiting for a private party to finish in another room. The bar was busy and several groups of adults were left standing while a table of kids took up prime seating.
