This was the best experience! They have a lovely rooftop patio, lights, a view, and live music on the weekends! They also have outdoor heaters which were perfect. We were served by the very knowledgeable and fun Wendy. We got our flights for tasting (4 for $10) and she was very helpful in helping us pick which wines to taste. While we were tasting, Jim, the winemaker himself, came to our table and asked us about the wines and taught us how to correctly taste wine. It was so interesting learning about where the wine came from and the history from him. THEN the food came we ordered the Brie and the charcuterie board. The Brie was immaculate!! I am still thinking about it. And there wasn't a single thing on the cheese board I didn't like! We also all enjoyed the Central Coast red blend so we got a bottle of that. The rooftop patio was fairly generic and the smoking took away from any atmosphere they had. I'd recommend finding some place else on your travels through Waco. Waco Winery has quickly turned into one of my favorite after-work/weekend hang outs. It's relaxed, there's live music, menu is reasonably priced, and the service is friendly and welcoming. My only regret is that I didn't discover this spot sooner! In Waco for the Tech/Baylor night game, so we tried out the winery. So glad we did! The gentleman who helped us was so friendly & knowledgeable. We all tried different flights & came up with our favs, as well as purchasing bottles to take home. The winery is on its way back after getting hit hard from 2020 & Texas' "snowmageddon". The Waco Winery has been here in their new location on Austin Ave for only 3 weeks. And the space is great! From the street level entry door you walk upstairs to enter a large comfortable rooms and are warmly greeted at the door. They have an assortment of upholstered sofa and chairs as well as locally well-made tables and chairs scattered about. Choose where you'd like to sit and if it's really comfortable, they are also all for sale! The colorful art on the wall is also from local artists and available for sale. Having just been exploring the area and noting the Wine Tasting sign on the door, I was curious about what local Texas wines might be like. Trey was my server and besides being very informative about the winery and wines, we had a great extended conversation about life in general. Taste in wine is very personal and I enjoyed trying the samples of five from their choices. More than the wine though, it was the experience that left the biggest impression. I'm sure they'll do well in their new location and I recommend others to enjoy the Waco Winery experience too. read more

Should have gone to the brewery instead of coming here. We had flights of wines and they did not have much flavor. One of the wines we wanted they no longer had. Another wine was not available as part of a flight. I don't understand that. Why are there so many rules as to what I can and can't have? We asked for a cheese platter and sadly, they don't have any kind of food after their "remodel". Who serves wine without cheese? They did have live music, but it didn't make up for the mediocre wine. read more

We came for the Stagecoach Wine Trail & the checkin was a breeze, nice table set up either inside or the rooftop. Stopped in on girls weekend after visiting the silos. This place needs a little more thought put into it. Staff didn't greet us when we came upstairs, so we weren't sure whether to seat ourselves. We did the wine tasting- We were thrown off by the scratched cheap wine glasses that were etched from a BMW dealership out of Tyler and they sprayed out our glass with a water solution and dumped it into a bowl and left it on the table The price for the tasting is very reasonable though. But we weren't impressed with any part of the place to buy a bottle to take home. read more

Honestly...we were excited when we saw a rooftop winery across from Portofinos when we google mapped it for lunch. The two wines and the service we had at Portofinos definitely outclassed the 5 wines we tasted at Waco Winery.....And here is why....1. The person who attended us at Waco Winery was as lack luster in her enthusiasm about serving us as her attitude about fulfilling our order request for OUR tasting. 2. The wines were just sweet and had a terribly dry mouth feel...like a cats tongue for over an hour afterwards i couldnt shake it....it ...was..deplorable...I absolutely HATE to leave a negative review but they gave me no reason to do otherwise.....Although we didnt try it....Sundays are $5 sangrias made with their wine...so if you like sweet and dont mind a dry wine GO FOR IT....Please go try Waco Winery for yourself....I would LOVE to hear what your opinion is.... read more

Very small; we almost missed it. However, that made it very relaxed. Being able to sit down for the tasting was much nicer than the usual standing tastings. Very limited selection and the sweeter wines were definitely better than their dry. Friendly staff and a lot of room for growth! Best sangria I have had in my life! No exaggeration. My friends who tried the sampler loved each wine they tried -- especially the peach and the chocolate dessert wine. Their outdoor rooftop patio was fabulous but chilly on the evening we went, so we sat inside. Our server was friendly and very knowledgeable about the wines. We're no wine experts, so this was really helpful. I'll definitely be back the next time we're in Waco. One thing to be mindful of -- the only food option is the meat and cheese plates, so don't come in hungry. This would be a great happy hour or after-dinner stop. read more

Jason helped us through our tasting and patiently answered all our questions about the wine, business, and vineyards themselves. He's a wonderful part of the experience! We loved every wine we tasted but I found a favorite in the semi-sweet Porch Red while my girlfriend adored the Plantation Red. I personally thought both were brilliant. Came on a Saturday night. 50% of the tables on the patio were filled, and we still received terrible service. Our waiter forgot us, while still managing to go to their other tables.
