I was walking down the main drag in gatlinburg and wanted some ice cream. I passed by this place and decided I'd give it a try. They had a free sample available of their cookie butter, which was absolutely delicious. The guy at the window said he just finished making a batch of caramel and gave a taste of that too and WOW! So good!! I ended up buying a jar of each cuz it was so good. It also inspired me to order a cookie butter milkshake, which was to die for. Customer service was fantastic. I really enjoyed this place but I do think it is ever so slightly overpriced. I know that the ingredients are shipped from France, but there was not nearly enough cookie butter on my waffle to my liking but the service was great and it was a cute little set-up. Wow, 5/5 stars - they got us when we were walking by. Just a small window and tiny sit down area. The employees were offering free samples - fresh whipped cream with toppings of cookie batter, dark chocolate, and salted caramel. Omg, it was simply but delicious! They got us hooked. If you want a unique dessert, I recommend Waffle De Lys! They make their waffles to order and you can either choose toppings of your choice, or order from their menu. I have done both and was delighted by them. Their caramel, biscoff spread, and whipped cream are stellar! If you make the right choices, your dessert won't be overly sweet either, which is good. My husband went to pick this up and bring it back. It took 20 minutes to walk back with it and it's still warm and crispy. I'm allergic to nuts so it's nice to have something from a place that took that seriously and without worrying about contamination. I took a point off because the waffle tastes a little burnt and I can't stand any foods tasting that way but that is a personal opinion, other than this is a great dessert place to try at least once (like fried Twinkies at the carnival). They serve Belgian waffles made fresh to order as well as drinks like coffee, tea and hot chocolate. I'm a sucker for anything caramel, especially salted caramel, so naturally, I chose the La Caramel Bliss ($8). The waffle came with salted caramel, bananas, caramelized hazelnuts and topped with whipped cream and more caramel. One bite and oh myyy! The way the hot waffle melted the caramel and the whipped cream... Wow. Heaven on earth. Caramel bliss. Every sugar fan's dream. I split it with my son, but to be honest, I took way more bites than he did. The waffle size is shareable, but I could have easily devoured it by myself in one sitting. My friends ordered an Oh La La ($10) to share and couldn't get enough of it either. There were two people working the stand and both of them were very friendly and helpful. Rather than pay $20 for the one parking space I could find, I snuck in and out quickly. Traffic was atrocious. If you're looking for reasons to take the bypass and skip this town, there are plenty. If you're looking for reasons to stick around, this dessert delivered the level of quality I'd hoped for it, with my caramel and banana waffle covered in imported sauce that tasted like imported fine caramel. The milk shakes were rich and creamy...made with Belgian chocolate and the Belgian waffle desserts out of this world...crispy but soft & fresh Belgian waffle with a scoop of ice cream and any sauces you like topped with whipped cream...amazing! My Belgian waffle dessert was supposed to serve 2 people but needless to say, I did not share. I ate it all myself and went back for more before our trip ended! You could share this with someone, the waffle is big enough unless you're very hungry! The ambience was a simple setting. There is no seats inside from my recollection so you'll have to find something outside. If you make the waffle customized, each topping is $1 so keep that in mind when creating your own.
