I don't get to visit Waffle House often but while on the road recently I saw a sign that this one was nearby. I made a detour and was able to locate this restaurant quickly. It was early morning on a Monday so there was a decent amount of people there for breakfast. I was greeted right away which is always a plus. It was also very clean on the inside. I ordered the All Star Special with bacon and scrambled eggs to go. It was $15 without a drink. I remember when the All Star Special was cheaper but that's just a sign of the times. Customer service was good but the wait was long for my food to be ready. Overall, the food was as good as I expected, the customer service was good, and the location was nice. We booked our hotel because it was located near a Waffle House - LOL! That's what happens when your nearest Waffle House is more than 90 minutes away. Service was friendly (almost a LITTLE too friendly - we get it, you want your tip). We stuck to our usual bacon / eggs / waffles / hash browns combo. I stopped at this waffle house because, well, I had never been to a waffle house in my life and was told that I had to go. I happened to be at a hotel nearby and I stopped for breakfast on a Sunday morning. The staff do greet you when you walk in the door. My server was very nice. But the food was just average. Now it is waffle house so I'm guessing you are supposed to get the waffles, but for health reasons I had to stick to traditional eggs. So I got three eggs, scrambled, with chicken, sausage, and hashbrowns and tomatoes. For everything being cooked to order it wasn't very hot. I would say hashbrowns were probably the best part of the meal, the eggs were fine, but it's kinda hard to to screw up scrambled eggs. The chicken sausage was slightly overcooked, and the tomatoes were not quite ripe and had zero flavor. I think the biggest problem was nobody would come back and ask if I needed a coffee refill which I thought was weird cause normally servers are coming by every couple minutes and asking to top off coffee. I had to ask twice to have my coffee refilled, and I had somebody join me about 20 minutes into my meal who just wanted a cup of coffee and they had to flag down a different server in order to get one. The coffee was GOOD. So anyway, it wasn't horrible, but I would not go out of my way to get breakfast there. read more

It was a typical Waffle House experience, but the waitress did a great job with customer service. She was extremely polite and attentive. They were extremely understaffed and there was a crowd but she was able to manage. A few things got sent back and needed to be redone like undercooked has browns that were thrown together and eggs missing the cheese we requested when placing the order. What a sticky place. As a friend said, "It's like a dive bar, but for waffles." The boyfriend had never been to a Waffle House, so we decided to remedy this today. He loved it, in all it's awful glory. Don't get me wrong, our waiter was good, but he wasn't really given much to work with. This is the first time I've ever been to a place where I heard them call out orders to the cook, and the cook called them back, so that was fun. But the food was mediocre at best. Another friend in our party said, "That was the worst hamburger I've ever had in my life," thought about it, and then said Applebee's was worse, but not by much. The biscuits and gravy were inedible, which is saying something, as the boyfriend usually loves biscuits and gravy, and when we make it at home we use canned gravy from the dollar store. He also had an egg sandwich and the cheesesteak sandwich - he is also a great lover of sandwiches but didn't wolf down either. He said the waffle was fine. The hash brown were sh!t. My patty melt was okay, but I wouldn't order it again. Actually we'll never return to Waffle House. It was a 'did it, done it, did it' situation. My shoes definitely stuck to the floor several times and our table was a smeary, syrupy mess, so it was a legit experience. And someone kept playing the Waffle House jukebox, which only plays songs about Waffle House. Did you know that there are A BUNCH of songs dedicated to Waffle House? Me either. Learn something every day. I appreciate that his friends were willing to meet us there, as they were very aware of what they were getting into. So on my journey to ATL, we stopped for gas and across the street was a Waffle House. Never been, but heard of, so we figured "why not?" I must say it is a very non-wow looking spot. But it was clean and the waiter/cashier/cook (Covid19 related most likely) was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We were a party of seven, ergo given that only 2 people workers were available we did not expect 10 second service. Nice thing about it is the kitchen is open. So we saw his progress. I had the peanut butter waffle. Didn't expect it to be, but it was DELISH!! With seven orders, we had an array of waffles. No-one was disappointed, not even the pickiest among us. Will visit Waffle House again, hands down. Perhaps not this location, but definitely whenever I venture down south. Hopefully I can try other items on the menu and upgrade to a 4 star. read more

Amazing.... Ly terrible. I should probably wait until the nausea subsides before writing this review. The visit started out with a long wait. The problem wasn't the lack of places to sit but rather the utter failure of the emplyees to bus and clean any spots. In all fairness, it didn't seem like there was any one to blame as there were no defined roles or coordinated activity among the 7 wandering cooks. One lady seemed very focused on bacon but other that that it seemed pure chaos. The man at the register looked one step away from tears and I dont blame him for this mess. There is clearly a litany of management and leadership failures here. The place was dirty too. We finally did sit and when our food arrived the eggs were raw. I mean egg soup. I really hope I didn't get salmonella. Guess what they forgot....the waffles. I kind of wish they never arrived. I mean you would hope a place with Waffle in its name - at the very least - could make decent waffles. They too were underwhelming and somehow both undercooked and burnt. Where do I begin. Whoever is the Regional Manager of this location needs to fire the manager and hire someone who has restaurant experience or someone who knows how to make an egg. I feel terrible for the cook. She was legitimately clueless. I've been coming to Waffle House since I could walk - since I grew up in Atlanta. I asked the cook if she can flip a 4 egg omelette. She couldn't make a 1 egg omelette. She tried 4 times to even make a 2 egg omelette and I decided to order a hash brown bowl. She asked the waiter how to do it and what was in it. That's when I should have left. Then she made my bowl with no egg and added strips of bacon. 1 hour later I'm 35 minutes into a toilet visit wondering if I'll make it to work in the morning. Like I said - whoever is the regional manager of this place needs to find a new manager who will spend time with their staff so they know what the hell to do in there. My bill was $7. Travelled to this Waffle House on my way home to Philly after spending a weekend in DC. On my route, (84 miles left), my roadie and I stopped at this Waffle House. When we walked in, there was practically no one in the store. We saw that there was one table that still had food on it. We waited 18 minutes while the staff wizzed by us as if we were invisible. On the 19th minute, I saw there was open table that was covered with dirty dishes from the last customer (who had left at least 18 minutes ago). Soon as we walked over to the clutterd table to sit, the waitress shouted her first words: "Hey! He's not done cleaning the table". Okay, so she sounded alittle rude and obnoxious - the short, dark haired waitress, Jazz, a heavier woman who spoke as if she was my mother". After another 5 minutes, she bellowed, "NOW YOU CAN GO SIT DOWN!" I wanted to yell back, "YES Massa!" After being seated for 8 minutes, Momma Waitress Jazz told one of the staff members to come over and serve us. She came over, took our order...then forgot about us. The cook forgot about us too! 28 minutes later, the waitress came back and said "Oh I'm sorry, I'll go put your order in now." My Roadie and I both were staring in disbelief" looked a my Roadie in disbelief! 19 minutes later, the cook came by and said, "I'll start making your order now, I'm so sorry". I used to live in Texas and loved visiting Waffle House. When visiting DC and going back home up north, I found this Waffle House and wanted to eat here. Our waitress, Jess, did not seem very happy to be there and even told a customer that she needed a job that didn't have her working weekends. I had asked for a refill and to go boxes (she had only checked on us once during our entire meal so I had to ask for some help) and she rudely said "just give me a minute" and walked away. The food was good but my mom, grandma, and I were not impressed by the unfriendliness of our waitress when every Waffle House we have visited has had amazing staff. The hash browns were cooked perfectly and when topped with gravy, it was amazing! My mom did not like the taste of her bacon (so I ate it because it tasted good to me, ha). Stopped by on my way back to NY for some nostalgic waffles and Texas toast/steak recently. Upon my entrance I waited a whole 5 mins for any of the 6 ppl working to acknowledge me, then they told me to seat where I wanted but there were no clean tables, fine. I was so disgusted I decided to order out to my surprise they charged me extra for ordering out then told me they had no utensil. No apologies, no further assistance, nothing! You have been warn not to come to this particular establishment. 1st red flag When I first enter in and went to the register, it took 2 min before anyone approach me to take my order. I order my food to go since it wasn't anyway to sit. You had 2 couples waiting on tables to become free, you had 2 tables that haven't been serve yet and they look not so happy. 2nd red flag the cooks, the staff was moving hella slow. No hustle and bustle, no motivation whatsoever. 3rd flag tables were dirty. We were so hungry from being on the road traveling back home that we waited from 2:55pm 2:40pm empty handed. My husband went to the register and ask how much longer, the cook told the person at the register that the steak will take 45-50 min. The cook haven't even started on our food and didn't plan on it by his body language. Corporate/Regional/National really needs to clean up shop at this location. LAZY AT ITS FINEST! This spot was a pit stop on our road journey. Off the bat the restaurant could be a bit cleaner. The tables were sticky, there was syrup on the outside of the bottle. One plus however was that the waiter brought out a cup of hot water for the utensils. Most restaurants don't do that so that was great. The waiter was a little frazzled though and he kept forgetting some things that we wanted with our order. The food was alright though. Waffle house waffles are pretty good. My 1st ever trip to a Waffle House and the experience was excellent! Although the menu is plain Jane and the restaurant is not all that, the food was very good and the service at this particular location was an A+! I ordered an All-Star special with Sausage. The famous waffles were thinner than your usual waffles, but were excellent. I wouldn't have actually wanted them to be any bigger since the breakfast was so filling. The eggs and toast were also spot on. The sausages looked pretty lonely, but hit the spot as well. Not one thing wrong with the food. I just also wanted to say that the service here was fantastic! Our waitress was busting her hump and was very accommodating. In addition, there was a female greeter who was very friendly helping us get a table. First time at the Waffle House, and the food is great! We first visited the location in Havre De Grace, not crowded but when we asked if we sat ourselves the guy buffing silverware replied "ain't nobody else going to". Needless to say we left and headed for Cracker Barrel, the Sunday after service wait was ridiculous. Arriving at the Riverside WH, expecting rude service like the last, I was pleasantly surprised by the giant MORNING when we came through the door. The young lady let us know she was about to bus the newly available table and we could sit. The vibe was nice everyone friendly even patrons pointing me and another lady to seats to wait . Menu not too extensive but they execute every dish wonderfully. I had blueberry waffles to share with my 2 year old niece, she absolutely loved them (no syrup needed , so sweet and delicious). we stopped here and had the best tasting waffles ever. The waitresses were all very accommodating, pleasant and helpful.

The longish, rectangular standalone building looks pretty much like most other Waffle House locations, but this one has abundant parking because it is a pad site in front of a strip mall. Major plus is they have a lot of booths, although you can also sit at the counter or at one of the smaller tables if you prefer. The cook has a sense of style. Instead of just piling the toppings on, I noticed that he prepared the "all the way" hashbrowns with different areas for different toppings. That's probably only a big plus for food photography purposes but some folks may like it this way. Service was also pretty good. The server checked on the tables frequently and promptly fetched anything that we needed. Incidentally, these "all the way" hashbrowns are a good value at Waffle House. For $5, you can get a hashbrowns platter with all their toppings, which is a substantial serving of food. The only thing that bothered me was most of the time, the staff banter was about things they could do to get fired on the spot and about what would happened if they all quit the Waffle House job at the same time. Fortunately, they didn't pursue that fantasy during our dinner! read more
