This is normally a great place, but this time will be our last. After a 6 hour drive we wanted this Waffle House because it's always good but when we got there the staff was sitting by the front door smoking. Then got inside and the entire staff was uncaring. We stayed and ordered but the grits were old and hard even with 3 things of butter. I ordered a hamburger and got a patty melt and we ask the cook he seemed very uncaring and turned his back. The server was incompetent and one acted like he was high. This use to be the best around but now it's the worst. They've hired a bunch of druggies seems like. Bring back the old staff. read more

I know it's a Holiday but having people wait 20 plus mins. to be seated and rtake order and still waiting 50 mins. and our order hasn't been called out because ONLINE ORDERS COME FIRST. THAT'S CRAZY they never stop and we're expected to Walt for all ONLINE ORDERS TO BE COMPLETED. My total wait time for my order to be called out was 55 mins. this has to improve. It's a Waffle House, they're pretty much the same inside no matter where you go. Local so I eat here regularly but only for breakfast. I mean it's Waffle House, there's not a whole lot more to say. We visited in the evening and typical to any of the "good" Waffle House locations they have an evening shift character employee. The cook is extremely outgoing and engaging. It was fun to watch him going about his responsibilities while singing a tune or two. Ok just have to check my self: I was at a Waffle House ordered a waffle. Got to say I have not been to a Waffle House in a yr as I'm from up north. But having a name with waffle in it I wld have anticipation was a great if not good waffle. It was sad: Small small small, I remember plate size waffles. I remember waffles that were brown and crispy. I got a weak underdone waffle. Now this may show my age, but what I loved the best was when u walked in the door all employees turned and greeted you with hello or good morning. Read some of the reviews and was very reluctant to go. I can't remember the last time I've been to a Waffle House, so it's been a really long time. I was going with 7 others, so left it all to them. They said let's go and I am glad we did. I was a very busy Friday morning and it was not that big inside. Fortunately for us, we arrived shortly before another large group was leaving. Their menu is very simple/basic, but still gave enough choices. I assume this also improves the speed in ordering and in the kitchen. Prices were good and portions were enough to take some for the next morning. Also we had a very pleasant waitress named Emily. We are full time residents of the area and as such try to frequent local businesses or at least the ones that appreciate repeat business. Anyway, we decided to try the BR Waffle House. We didn't even get to the ordering phase before walking out. First, it was dirty. A turnoff at any restaurant. Secondly, we stood there waiting for any one of the three vacant tables to be cleaned and before any employee even acknowledged us. My wife took the initiative and asked if we could sit at table "X". She motioned to me and I sat down at the table which had yet to be cleaned. Wife had to go out to car to retrieve something. In interim, I thought I'd lend a hand and began pushing coffee cups, silverware, paper to side cleaning was taking place. A waitress with a horrible attitude chastised me and said she told my wife she meant for us to sit over there as she pointed. She also told me she was working as fast as she could. Told my wife upon her return and she apologized to this employee and the lovely old lady repeated that she meant to sit over there while she cleaned table. We looked at each other, got up and walked out. Somehow I don't think anyone there will care about this review, use it as a training lesson or contact us. I think it happens regularly. Avoid this trashy place...eat at McDonalds, Waffle King, Serenity etc. read more

People always make the difference and that's especially correct when it comes to Waffle House. Their employees have to be friendly and attentive in an environment that might not always be conducive to that. I had to laugh because our waitress seemed to be more interested in our gossip and where my boyfriend went to high school than our order. That's fine because apparently she can chit chat and sling hashbrowns at the same time because our food came quickly and just as requested. The sweet tea is fresh, which is generally my barometer for any restaurant in the Southeast. No complaints and this location is a perfect example of their corporate slogan. If you are up in the mountains near Blue Ridge, you might want to check out this Waffle House. As Waffle House's go, it's pretty good. Good service, good food. The real gem here however, is the atmosphere. Good old fashioned mountain folks with new fangled problems that lead to some good eavesdropping. "So and so stole my cellphone when I was drunk!" or "I don't care if that baby is half Mexican, I still love it." and the classic "That sonabitch don't know what the hell he's even doing most of the time. After reading the reviews for breakfast in the area and considering the fact that one good option was closed Sundays, we decided to opt for the speed and consistency of Waffle House. And we were not disappointed. Cheerful welcome the minute we walked in. Coffee while we waited. It was packed but we were seated and ordered in minutes. Hats for the kids and good simple food. Not sure what was going on last night, but the service was not very good. There was about 10 ppl in the entire place so figured the service would be good. Wrong. Took forever to get the waitress to take any order including drinks. My gf had to ask for her salad after waiting about 15 mins. The waitresses were counting the money from the cash drawer on the counter in front of everyone. Shouldn't that be done out of sight of the customers? I ordered the steak and eggs. Idk why they ask how I wanted the steak cooked cause they never told the cook when they yell out the order. I ordered medium and got well done. We get our food and my gf hash browns have a mustard package cooked into them. We was told that's how the cook marks what is what. They can mark however they want but damn. At least the waitress refilled our drinks but the first refill took forever cause they was too busy counting the money. We have ate here many times over the years and always been great but last week we ate and after our meal seen a roach on bathroom door , no big deal things happen. Came back this week and waitress brought coffee carried by the rim , ok we just wiped it off and let that go, then noticed cook was piecing sandwiches together bare handed! Folding eggs onto bread making sandwiches no gloves!! We asked waitress if cook should be wearing gloves and she said yes , she went and told cook to put gloves on and rudely he said he will in a minute , we decided to leave after that , waitress did not seem to be surprised and did not let us pay for our drinks :( read more

There were multiple cockroaches on at least two tables. We told the waitress and she just said, "oh ok." The restaurant was nasty. None of the workers were wearing gloves. I never even saw anyone wash their hands, even after our waitress dug a cigarette out of her jacket for the cook. We paid for our food, which was cold, and went to McDonalds. read more

It was pretty much your standard Waffle House. The staff was incredibly friendly and provided fast service with a smile. My only complaint is that for a relatively slow morning the cooking area was a wreck. Someone should have taken the extra minute or two to wipe down the waffle makers, there was batter everywhere. read more
