Well I apologize for the very long delay on submitting this review. Yanno life gets in the way... Anyhoo, this place.... Wow... Really really enjoy this establishment. Not only it was on my birthday in which we celebrated. But our excursion to the mountains for the long weekend was a fantastic time. As you can see through the pictures we really went all the way my dish was as abundance of seafood that you could have with an amazing cioppino sauce that was also soppable with crusty garlic bread. The beverages were on point, they have a great menu of bourbons. Will not disappoint. As a surprise they gave me a flourless chocolate Bundt cake to take home with a candle. We recently visited Whiskey and Water Seafood and Bourbon Bar and had an overall enjoyable experience with a few standout items. For drinks, the Sweater Weather was the clear winner--well-balanced and thoughtfully crafted. The combination of Bulleit rye, La Pommiere Calvados, and sorghum created a smooth, seasonal cocktail with nice depth. The Properly Poached was decent but didn't quite impress in the same way; the Brugal Añejo, pear liqueur, dark wildflower honey, and pink salt made for an interesting profile, though it leaned a bit flat compared to the first cocktail. We started with the broiled sweet crab dip served fondue-style with pita chips, which was a great opener. It was warm, creamy, and rich, with good crab flavor that made it easy to keep going back for more. For entrées, the blackened mahi fish tacos were fresh and flavorful. The mango pico added a nice brightness, and the cilantro crema tied everything together nicely on the corn tortillas. The smash burger was another solid choice--juicy double patties with melted American cheese, crispy onion rings, house sauce, and house-made pickles that added a great tangy crunch. Service was ok waitress took a bit to bring the drinks and then the food took about 30+ minutes luckily we were entertained by talking to locals that we really weren't concerned. Overall, the restaurant delivers a pleasant upscale-casual dining experience with well-executed comfort favorites and creative cocktails. Definitely worth a visit, especially for the crab dip and the Sweater Weather cocktail and the fish tacos those were my overall favorites. Prices are mid range. FAKE BUSY...AGAIN!!! Came in to celebrate my bestie's birthday for a quick drink and things went downhill immediately. It was 4:17 on a Saturday and we were greeted by the hostess with a lot of fake busyness and told there was no space at the bar. Mind you--we walked to the back and there were maybe four people sitting there. The bartender was just okay, nothing memorable. What really ruined the experience was the greeting. We came in on a total high--beautiful weather, bright sunshine, ready to celebrate--and that energy was completely shut down at the door. We have been to Whiskey and Water on our past visit to Blue Ridge and we had such a good meal. We decided to come back again. We made reservations prior to our arrival and we were seated immediately. We were seated for a while before our server was assigned to our table! This was an easy crowd to please, as three of us ordered the Miso Cod dinner and I had the Ciopinno dinner! We stopped in on a slow night. We had to have reservations but 75% of the tables were empty. We ordered drinks and they took a while. Service was nice. My old fashioned was pink and red? We overheard at another table they had no simple syrup. It only takes a few minutes to make some??? They used cherry juice. We started with a salad that was good but the bread was rock hard . The cheese on to was like plastic. I ask the server to ask the chef about it. My wife got clam chowder that was delicious. That bread was very good. I got the fish and chips. It was small but ok. Came here the first night in town with our local friends who said this place was good. We get there and it is busy but not packed. Few tables empty. I make this statement because they told us that food was backed up and may take a while, we didn't mind they had booze. We had a few appetizers that came out sporadically all good. Then an hour and 40m later the waitress comes out and says that two of our Entrees have sold out. Excuse me? How did you not know what you have? Located in downtown Blue Ridge right next to the general ledger. Warm welcoming restaurant/bar food came out hot delicious. My sister ordered the clam chowder. She said it was amazing. My other two friends had their fish tacos. They eat it so quickly before I could even take a picture lol I ordered the pork belly beautifully seasoned crispy on the outside not too fatty. The food here is phenomenal. It's a little pricey but I'd assume most everything in this area is. The food is definitely worth it. I was happy to see they had a couple of non-alcoholic options. The burger is one of the best I've ever had. Greasy and cheesy like a burger should be. Really good and fresh cole slaw. What a sleeper. Holy fork! First off, not sure how to rate a seafood forward restaurant this far inland fairly - but never fear, I'm from Florida and it held up against some of my favorites down there. Second, OMG have the clam chowder!!! Ruined for life and will not skip this - the highlight of my trip. Third, let's cover other sleepers on this menu: cesar salad (amazing fresh dressing), fish and chips (stunning) and the crispy pork belly (best kimchi I've had in a non-Korean establishment). 11/29/2024 - This is the 2nd time we've been here and this time around we realized there is a whiskey bar in the back of the restaurant. What a great surprise! We had a great bartender that made us an old fashioned regular and later smoked. I did the Channel Orange drink. We ordered the minestrone soup and coconut shrimp as appetizers. Later we ordered the mahi and I had another minestrone soup. It was too good and the weather called for it. Highly recommend if you're in town. read more

Was visiting Blue Ridge for a girls trip to the mountains. Whiskey and Water was recommended to us from the local winery. Absolutely loved all the appetizers and the drinks. A couple of my girlfriends ordered the burger and was very happy with it, said it was one of the best burgers they've ever had. My friend and I ordered the scallops and unfortunately they did not taste good at all. Not sure if it was the scallops or the pasta it was served with, still can't put my finger on it if it was the flavor, or the way it was cooked or possibly both. I just know for the price of $45 we had to send it back, which I hate doing. Bar service at the start of dinner was very attentive. Everything ordered came out very quickly, which was appreciated. I had oysters (deliciously fresh), calamari and drinks. This is a cool spot in downtown Blue Ridge. Hayley & Mark made this visit very nice with the right amount of attentiveness. We started with a couple of cocktails (sazerac & vodka & tonic w/twist of lime) which both were very well made & refreshing. For an appetizer we had the calamari which was excellent as it had the typical squid but also had fried artichoke & lemon which made it different and a believe it or not fired lemon slice is good!! For the entrees, I had the cioppino which was full of seafood (shrimp, clams, mussels, whole garlic in a tomato broth) which was excellent. My wife had the fish and chips with a broccoli slaw and she said was very tasty! I have been to this establishment many times and have never been disappointed! I visit Blue Ridge at least 2-3 times a month and the ambience and service here are top notch. The newest bartender named Allie was super personable and the other young man bartending are a great team. There is a Rumchata and Blackberry Crown cocktail that you must try! Thry don't have it on the menu nor is it named. My boyfriend loved it so he had it as a martini and later, on the rocks. I have eaten here 2 times prior and it was very good. I also love the brick walls and that little cavern like feel. read more

How did this win best seafood in Georgia? Need to be honest: the food wasn't that good and I read how fresh this restaurant was prior to coming. The "most popular" starter is a crab dip, which sounded great, but it was IMITATION KRAB sticks in cheese dip. Catch of the day was Black Grouper, but you couldn't get it on the grouper sandwich...Is it the non-fresh grouper? Fresh seafood high prices, but mid-food taste at best. Hostess was able to fit us in on a fairly busy Saturday evening. Our server, Holly, was delightful. As one would expect the whiskey selection was top notch and I opted for a Sazerac rye My wife began with shiitake bruschetta. I started with Outer Bank oysters. Both were excellent. The oyster were fresh and a bit briny the way i prefer them. The bruschetta was a perfect fusion of flavors. Our remaining choices were scotch mussels and fish tacos. Holly had recommended the mussels and noted that patrons raved about the sauce/broth they were cooked/served in. In that regard she was spot on and the generous portion served as my entree. We just finished the most amazing dinner at Whiskey and Water. Each of us agreed the dish we had was the best we had ever had. The fish on all 3 were perfectly cooked. My husband had the fish and chips. The fish was glistening, the batter flavorful and crunchy and the fries were well seasoned too. Oh and the slaw and tartar sauce were something special. My daughter had the scallops and risotto. The scallops were the best I had tasted...so sweet with the more earthy risotto. And I had the shrimp scampi which was incredible with a nice amount of heat lingering on the palette. Do yourself a favor and go to dinner here. This restaurant fills up quick and the reviews are certainly accurate! My family and I came here on a Sunday and made a reservation for a high top table (those were the only options left). When we arrived, the table was still occupied so we had to wait a little bit. The restaurant is very cute and probably one of the best restaurants in Blue Ridge! I ordered the Grouper with Brussel sprouts and au gratin potatoes. This meal were delicious!! It was exactly what I was expecting. Just a heads up, the French onion soup is not the traditional bowl of French onion soup. It is a bowl of onions in a broth with cheesy bread on the side. I thought it was very good but someone at my table who ordered it, hasn't seen it served that way before. The Fish Tacos were also good, just spicy! Originally came in here to eat and drink. After the drinks we ordered we decided to eat at southern charm instead. We loved the aesthetic inside. Definitely feels like a whiskey bar however, I paid 16 dollars for an old fashioned. It's 2 dollars extra if you want it smoked. (Ridiculous) the drink simply felt like it was a shot vs a drink. Tasted strong but the cup was barely filled. Same for the Georgia James Bond. Never seen a drink poured into a cup and half filled. If it was just liquor I would understand but its supposed to be a cocktail. 40 dollars for these two "Cocktails" just felt like robbery. I am always happy to spend money when the quality is there but unfortunately this just felt like highway robbery. I know chophouses where the drinks are cheaper, stronger, and better. We've eaten here twice...the first time it was just my son and I about 4 years ago...we really liked it so we went back with a larger group. It was really just average the second time. We ordered calamari and crab dip, and the calamari was overcooked as were the chips that went with the crab dip. It was almost like the oil was old or burned. We mentioned it to the waitress and she said that changed the oil daily. If they do, then it was really overcooked. For entrees several got fish and chips, and couple of us got shrimp and grits. One got catfish. Again, the fish and chips tasted burnt or overcooked, and the shrimp and grits had a very acidic tart taste. Not inedible but not something I'd order again. They were also out of the burger and steak, and a couple of other entrees at 8 PM. Several of us would have gotten those, but no mas. When it was all said and done we skipped dessert and when the check came there was automatic 20% added for a party of 6. So for 6 of us with just an average meal it was $250 with no alcohol. I generally don't review restaurants and we love the off the beaten path places, but this place was not even close to what it was the last time we were there. I wouldn't go back...hopefully they read this and work to improve. Ambiance is just OK, and service was good though even it wasn't busy, our waitress seemed frazzled and overly busy. read more

One of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. Our server completely disappeared for 45 minutes, and we waited over an hour and a half for our food with no updates or apologies. When we tried to order another drink, the waiter gave us attitude and acted like we were inconveniencing him--despite the fact that we were just trying to enjoy our time while waiting far too long. To top it off, the head chef, Marty, came out and actually called us "assholes"--completely unprovoked and shockingly unprofessional. I've never experienced anything like it in a restaurant.
