Perfect place to stop before tubing! It's right across from a tubing company spot (Blue Ridge Tubing) and it was perfect to stop in before going. They have a restaurant with a little gift shop and a mining spot. I had the Buffalo chicken wrap with a bag of lays potato chips (the wrap was great!). They have seating inside and the food comes out pretty quick. Highly recommend for any tubers! read more

They had no syrup for togo orders so we had to buy an entire bottle. We ordered a combo that came with gravy and there was no gravy on it.

Love the way the place looks. Little country store that is more if a restaurant than anything else. On the other hand the food was ok not the best. I will say that the service is outstanding & The staff is very nice. But it takes me back to the food. I had the biscuits and gravy. You could tell the biscuits were frozen and not made from scratch. After a hike to Long Creek Falls, it was past lunchtime and we had worked up an appetite. We saw this place was open for takeout (no dine-in allowed during the Corona virus Pandemic) and couldn't resist pulling in for the advertised hamburgers. So glad we did! It took a little while to get our food, but SO worth the wait. Hand. Cut. Homemade. French Fries y'all!! They were fabulous. Don't pass these up. Who makes French fries like that anymore?? Enjoyed our visit for brunch. Simple yet tasy food. My daughter and I had The Tony, which is an egg sandwich, and my husband had an omelet with fried potatoes and a biscuit. Also puchased a banana nut muffin from baked goods which was delicious. Cute store with unique gift items. Enjoyed reading sayings on t-shirts hanging. After eating you can go next door to gem mining. A lady we knew was there with her son and they were making quite a haul with the stones. Don't want to leave out the employees. Iron Bridge Cafe is a small roadside restaurant/general store/cafe with all the charm of cherry log packed into one. I had the catfish sandwich which was to die for. I didn't even get the chance to take a picture of it because I was so excited to eat it. The fries are crisped to perfection and the service is great. The food came out quickly and hot. If you're staying in a cabin nearby, come here for good hot food or just a quick bite. The place does have some signs that are questionable. Especially about guns and religion. The merchandise is cute though, but be wary if you're looking to avoid some awkward encounters if you're not white. read more

There were no Confederate flags and no signs about unattended children or slavery seen today. All of the employees were awesome and courteous. Our server was a delightful young lady as was the cook who came out and asked how our meals were. We ordered three different hamburgers that were the best in the area. Don't listen to the reviews about service, flags and racist remarks. It's evident they came from enabled young people who disagree just to follow a crowd. There was an Eastern Indian family, an Asian family, a few blacks, and us caucasians. No one there was treated disrespectfully. No one! Thanks for the great meals and great service. Rented a cabin for the weekend and stopped in at the Iron Bridge because it was near. Staff was so nice and helpful. We were in search of hamburger buns, which they did not have. They sold us a pack from their cafe since they did not have available. The food from the cafe was, also good. Good place to stop if needing staples like milk. read more

It's a country breakfast. But the hospitality earns a gold star. It's touristy with tubing available but it's not crazy like other tourist destinations nearby. Was staying in Blue Ridge and was looking for some breakfast/Lunch and the reviews were really good. We are hoping that they are much better during the summer and not what we were given. Staff is great and very friendly but this place is just a tourist spot/stop for a quick resupply for camping and or tubing and that's it. We got a burger and the BBQ special. Both were left for the trash after 2 bites. We took our drinks and went back to Blue Ridge. Not worth the time. read more

The best General store this side of the Mississippi hands down!!!! Kim and her family share with you the true feeling of southern hospitality. From the moment we walked in we were welcomed and made to feeI right at home. The best part about this general store are the home made deserts by Kim and her mom!!!! Wow!!!!from the Apple cake, peanut butter balls and brownies they are all made fresh from scratch and you shouldn't leave there without having some of each!!!! We definitely came here during the slow season (Christmas time), so I can envision that this place can be quite popular during the tubing/canoeing season. The husband and wife that run the place were quite friendly, and patiently took all the orders of our party of nine. The food itself was good, but nothing spectacular. For the value, the bowl (which consisted of grits, sausage or bacon, cheese, eggs) was filling and satisfying. The biscuits were a little on the dry, crumbly side. Another great positive would be that you get a very large coffee when you order their coffee. As for the "general store" that they also have, I would say that it would be a bit of an insult to general stores. They had quite a strange variety of things, and I guess if you were stranded up there in the mountains, you could find a few things you needed, but I don't really see why anyone would count on overpriced items here, when there are grocery stores 10 minutes down the road. Overall, if I were in the area again, and had limited ability to travel, I'd stop here again, but I wouldn't really go out of my way to do so. read more

Stopped by this cafe for breakfast before going tubing, when we learned that the owners of the cafe also have tubing right across the street! We changed our plans and used this company for tubing instead, and it was a fantastic experience! Our group had a little bit of everything for breakfast, biscuits/gravy, breakfast sandwich, potatoes, bologna sandwich, and pancakes. Everything was great! (Pancakes were huge!) Food was very reasonably priced. Staff was super friendly. The tubing was also great. We loved the tubes they used and had a nice ride to the top of the river, I believe it was the owner driving us, and he was so friendly. All around it was a great experience. It's a nice little country store. Not much in the way of provision (you might find something you need) but the attraction is the home-cooked food. We stopped for coffee and a slice of cherry pie, both were fresh, and we left satisfied. Other customers were clearly enjoying their burgers, fries, and omelettes. Friendly service abounds. Tried their Robert E. Lee cheese steak and I must say it was very racist, just how I like it. The waiter asked if I could recite the pledge and I got 50% off for not knowing it ! I dotted 1 star because I saw some immigrants in there. I asked them for their documents and was awarded free desert for my bigotry. Place isn't too bad. Slave Saturdays are the best.
