Waffle House- You are a 5 star restaurant to the drunken 15 years younger version of myself after an all night binge drinking session at 3am and I have to be at work at 6. Alas I am him no longer, I'm middle class suburbia father of 2 who simply wants an omelette at 6am. I'm more likely to see the morning shift now than the late night shift when all the freaks come out. This review is for Waffle House's everywhere not just the one in the Chalmattion Nation . Truth be told, they are all the same. The floors in this place are stickier than a truck stop adult video store movie floor! The waffle makers always look like they threw up the last batch, the place is never clean, and the waitresses are all like Flo from Mel's Diner except they'll tell you to kiss something else besides their grits. You can get your hash browns smothered, covered, diced, sliced, chunked, or Toby Keith'd. I'm pretty sure if you order the hash browns with everything you get your choice of a Larry the Cable guy 'Get-er-done' cap or a neck tattoo that says 'My boo' for free. All jokes aside its the best hangover food around. The omelttes are actually tasty and the hash browns are always good. Besides where else are you going to eat at 3am? It's fast and cheap like my women! Badaboom ching! Last bad joke I promise. You will be hard pressed to not find a Waffle House at every exit from here to Atlanta. I dare you to try! read more

Absolute horrible service and staff.. came in 2/12 at 11 and finally at 11:30 the lady that was training (or just didnt know how to do her job) finally came to take an order..Also the waitress when she finally came didnt even have a pen to take the order....???? ... WOW! As A Corporate Executive Chef that trains people for a living your people and the manager on duty have dropped the ball... then after she took my order the waitress was standing with a puzzled look on her face and never called the order in... Also the Expeditor walked off..... Now its 11:45.... Ordered online and went to pick up order. Lady in charge asked me pickup or whatever. I said pickup and my name. She shoved it in my hand and pushed it against me aggressively while telling me to have a good night. My biscuit was wet and soggy. Gross. This unit is the worst WH that I've ever been to . I completely understand why they have a 1.9 rating . How did I get my Texas chicken melt that was supposed to come with grits , before the rest of my family got their food . They ordered a ham & cheese omelette ( which was mostly raw ) and a Texas patty melt . I didn't get my grits until I was done with my chicken melt . The service was completely terrible . They were very rude and obviously did not care for the in store customers but ran to grab a Togo order when one walked in . Not to mention , the store was completely disgusting . The bathrooms looked like they never been clean . I couldn't even wash my hands it was so bad . I really hope that whole store gets their shit together . read more

Only one table was left open when we went around 10am on a Monday. Our server, Savanna, was friendly and attentive. Food was pretty good once we got the correct order. Cooked like I requested, crispy hash brown and crispy bacon. Pretty limited menu, and small check out area were my only issues. read more

There was water dripping from the ceiling at multiple points, onto the counters... where people eat... there was no attempt to contain the water or warn people it was there. They had no plastic bags for to go orders, which happens but it just added to an already bad experience. I paid for a sprite and they were out, and didn't realize until I reminded them I paid for it. Went in to the restaurant in Chalmette on Parish Road, twice to eat and the SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE. Know problems with the food. The 2 people that really stood out to me or Moe & Amari. VERY RUDE, ON THE PHONE WHEN TAKING ORDERS AND THE LANGUAGE IS DISCUSSING THAT THEY USE. CONSTANTLY ARGUING & FIGHTING WITH OTHER WORKERS. It's really terrible, this could be a good restaurant!!! It is 4:50 on a sunday, my fiancee & I went into the Waffle House to dine in & we were told that they were cleaning the building-therefore they were only taking to-go orders. We were told we had to pay the to-go fee even though I did not choose to get my order Togo. My food was made incorrectly 3 times. Twice before they boxed it, & opening the togo box when I got home I realized it still wasn't correct for the 3rd time! How do you read & cook an order 3 times....yet still cannot do it correctly? My fiancee had ordered a cheesesteak melt plate; the sandwich was not cut in half, the amount of cheesesteak on the sandwich was at MOST- half of the amount that is supposed to come on it & it looked like they dumped the grease from the entire grill on top of her hashbrown/ In the togo container... the Texas toast on her sandwich was SOAKED & the hashbrowns were so wet that I had to use 3 whole paper towels to soak the grease up. The waitress should be checking the food before serving it to make sure it's acceptable or somewhat decent at the very least. So ultimately i paid for 4 hash brown toppings that I did not receive, and also paid a togo fee for garbage food. read more

I ordered the chicken and hash brown bowl. This was the worst prepared food I've ever eaten from any Waffle House in this country. The hash browns are burned severely. This chicken in hard chunks.a slice of barley melted cheese. I'm definitely reporting this to cooperate. They never answer their phone. now a days, we like to order over the phone or online. We don't have time to go in and order and wait for it to be cooked. It's a continuous problem, and I always end up ordering Gerald's donuts because Waffle House never picks up their phone. I have tried to order different times in the day and night and still.... No. Answer. Some people work at night time so that's the only time they can eat sometimes. Terrible service!! As soon as we walked through the door, we could feel tension and that the vibe was off. We sat patiently and waited while the servers argued who wanted to serve our table which was our first red flag. The gentleman didn't even greet us but took a crumbled up napkin with 5 sets of utensils and slammed it on the table for us to disperse ourselves. Took our drink order and then slammed our drinks on the table. 'So how are we doing this?' is how we were asked what we wanted to eat. When our food came, he said we couldn't get chili bc it was almost empty and burnt. At this point, one of our friends decided that it was their last straw and said just forget about my food. He must've went back and told his manager who chewed him out for not wanting to take the time to make a new batch of chili to give us our correct order. When it came time for the bill, we wanted to see exactly what we were charged for since things just felt off which he gave us an attitude for and threw the ticket on the counter. Once confronted about the terrible attitude, his response was 'I've been here since 9pm'. On the other hand, the manager was super nice and apologized for his behavior. When she walked through the door during our meal, she greeted us with a good morning and immediately started to turn the place for the better. I just don't understand the point of just being straight up rude and not caring for a table that wanted to just have a nice chill breakfast. Very dirty, floors look like haven't been mopped in a long time. Flies all over the place, windows filthy inside and out. Food on seating, windows, we sat there killing flies then more kept coming, total gross. Tried writing to Waffle House and the form is a joke. There were 4 tables in the restaurant, we sat at the bar. Three employees were there, one cook, 2 servers. We waited at the bar for service, when the server was done yelling at the cook, she finally came over to get our order. 5 minutes go by, we finally get our drinks. The whole time the servers are complaining, calling other employees at home to come in and help. If they put half the effort into working instead of complaining, they could've handled the restaurant. I've been in the restaurant industry over 20 years from hostess, server, bartender, to management. The attitude of the servers were absolutely stomach turning, poor cook just took all the snide comments that the servers were throwing at him. He seemed fairly new. My deluxe chicken sandwich was served with a burnt bun, and only cheese. Menu says it comes with bacon, lettuce, tomato...(had to ask for lettuce and tomato). No refills offered. After eating, we were ready to cash out, cc was ready. Waited. Waited. Finally just took cash out to pay and left it on the bar. Server would've gotten a $5 tip on a $23 tab, but since she was more worried about complaining than checking us out, she got what was left of the $25 we left to cover the check. Hubby and I ate here on the 4th of July. Though it was very busy the friendly staff were trying hard to insure people were being served in a timely manner. Our food was delicious. I thought the store was very clean and bright. The ladies RR was spotless as well. read more
