I would give the food five stars because the food is always good, but the to-go service needs serious improvement. I drive all the way from Metairie about three times a week to pick up food from this location, and almost every time, something is missing from my order. Today, it was the blue cheese for my salad. I drove all the way back to get it, and when I asked for the blue cheese, the employee asked, "Did you check the bag?" I understand mistakes happen, but gas is almost $5 mfffinggggg dollars, and it is frustrating to have to drive back because my order was not checked properly, VERY INCONSIDERATE!!!! Instead of being in the long wait to sit at a regular table, we just dined in at the bar. The food came out in a timely manner. I ordered the salmon salad, with NO BACON, when my salad came out the only thing it had on it was cheese. I waited to get Karly's attention for about 5 minutes to bring it to her attention. She came with a small ramekin of egg, small ramekin of tomato and the next size from small ramekin of croutons. The salad was supposed to come with onion as well, I did not receive it. Karly did not check on us to make sure everything was good before she bought the missing items nor after!!!!!! We also had a to go order, and was going to order it when she came back to us, but we had to order that when she bought the bill to us. Service could have been much better. I came back again to Texas Roadhouse tonight and I have yet to be disappointed! They had Christmas decorations all around inside which was pretty cute. Our waitress, Miss April was very kind and attentive to us the whole time. For appetizers, we got their Cactus Blossom which is just Fried Onion Rings shaped like a cactus blossom ($7.99) and their Fried Pickles like last time ($7.99). Even though the Cactus Blossom was huge in size, we weren't big fans of it compared to their Fried Pickles. We got their Fort Worth Ribeye like last time but 16 oz instead of 14 oz with 2 sides of Buttered Corn & Loaded Mashed Potatoes ($27.99 + 1.29 for the Loaded Mashed Potatoes). Delicious! Everything was perfect like last time. We also got their 18 oz Mango Margarita with sugar on the rim ($9.25). So good! I only gave 2 stars because of the bartender Grace. She was so pleasant and accommodating! The Texas Roadhouse has $5 Long Islands. It was the biggest glass of syrup I've ever tasted. As a 30 yr bartender I couldn't believe it! I understand this is a corporate chain but do you taste the recipe you mandate your employees to give customers? I watched her put 4 shots or sweet and sour in two shots of LIT mix. It was absolute syrup! I had her make me a Patron margarita and saw the same sweet and sour ratio put in! Where's the lime juice? went on a monday night. the main issue was the SERVICE. our waiter was so rude, rushed us to order, no refills. One time she walked past us and said " Do y'all need anything?" and didn't even stop to finish her sentence, and also didn't stop walking for us to answer ..? it was bad. Casual dining with affordable steaks with a fraction of the cost of upscale steakhouses. Honestly, the quality and taste isn't bad for its price point. I'd say it's better than Outback. The cooking temperature is a hit or miss though. Sometimes it'll come out cooked perfectly and other times not. In general, some of their food reminds me of something you get at someone's BBQ party. I haven't tried the ribs but when my guests had it, they said it was tender, fall off the bone and was complimented in flavors. Also, oddly enough, their caesar salad is good. It's one of my favorites if tossed with enough dressing. Almost forgot, they provide warm rolls with a cinnamon butter upon being seated too and they're also good. I received a text immediately that I was on the list, the expected wait time, and to text "here" when we arrived. I texted and waited in the car until our table was ready. I received a text it was ready and went inside. We were seated in a booth and our waitress was very nice! To start, the bread and butter are delicious!! Ordered the shrimp as an appetizer and they were okay. For my meal, I ordered the Portobello Mushroom Chicken. It was good, nothing special, but good. My sides were corn and a loaded potato.
