Walked over from the Hilton. Egg -scrambled well done - tasty Bacon crispy - very flavorful Grits - the top part was very light but the base was solid and very gritty. A bit different but still tasty. Biscuit- tasted good. A little denser that I am use to but they use this for their sandwich so it needs the structure. Waffle- light and fluffy perfectly sweet.
I visited here based on Yelp reviews and it did not disappoint. It was a 16 minute walk from my hotel but it was a beautiful day so I didn't mind. It's in a very quaint area. The restaurant was spacious and inviting. You can order at the counter or the table using a QR code. I ordered at the counter with a pleasant young lady and proceeded to sit near the window to get some sun. I ordered orange juice, a cafe au lait, fried chicken and waffles. I was handed my orange juice at the counter. My cafe au lait was delivered soon after I sat down and my chicken and waffles arrived about 15 mins later. The chicken was crispy and the waffle fluffy. The sauce used for the chicken was delicious. I probably should have asked what it was so I could bring some home. I would absolutely recommend. I went on an early Sunday morning and there wasn't a wait.
My wife and I wanted to try a new restaurant each day we were here for our anniversary and we looked on Yelp and saw this place within walking distance from the hotel. This place is big and clean with just the right amount of tables so you don't feel on top of the people next to you. Must be a NOLA thing but you place your order upon entering and they bring it to your table. I ordered the chicken and waffles and it was the best chicken and waffles I've ever had!!!! They debone a thigh, which is not seasoned but cooked to perfection. The waffle is topped with pecan butter. Add syrup and you have the perfect brunch. I highly recommend this place. After my wife tasted what I had she wished she would have ordered it.
It was about a 14-minute walk from my hotel but was in the top 10 near me to try out for breakfast. I do believe I started my first meal in New Orleans just right! Very classic diner aesthetic and friendly staff. I'm sure I looked a little lost while looking around but bo worries the staff will be more than happy to assist with taking your order at the bar or you may put in a digital order by scanning the QR code at your table. I found the easiest version was to speak in person if you're anything like me. I tend to ask questions when it comes to a substitution or inquire about an unknown item. Although it has a southern home cooking style, there was clear balance to keep a lighter option available! I ordered the Morning Joy busicuit $9 English muffin, poached egg, gouda cheese, and bacon with a drizzle of their Yucatan Habanero Pepper hot sauce. I could not have been more satisfied mopping up the egg yolk. Each bite was exactly what I was looking for! I chose to try there Patria mexican medim dark roast, great cup of joe to pair with your morning breakfast!
Home style breakfast and Louisiana love. The food was very filling and delicious. The staff are super patient and explain everything. Inside, you'll be taken through the history of the company and the brand. All of the tea and coffee boxes and antiques are super neat! Very welcoming and homey. They no longer serve beignets, sadly, but don't let that discourage you from giving them a try!
Easy walk from Ceasar's for breakfast. Nice, easy atmosphere. Order at the counter and seat yourself. The Boudin Benedict was delightful. The Chicken and Waffle was elevated with pepper jelly, although the chicken was a bit skimpy. Self-serve coffee options allow you to select medium, dark or chickory. We were able to get a good, quick breakfast before heading out to explore the city.
I went for a late lunch and there were only a few other people in the restaurant. I wanted a shrimp Po' Boy and this was close to the hotel. You order at the counter and they bring it to you. The service was friendly and efficient. I was hungry as I hadn't eaten yet and the friend shrimp in the baguette looked sooo good. I put a bit of hot sauce on the shrimp and dove in. It was good though the bread was a bit dry on the ends. I ended up using a knife and fork to eat this sandwich because it was so big. In the end I couldn't even finish all the shrimp but I left with a happy tummy and ready to spend the day walking around this great city! It's definitely a good spot to hit for a casual meal.
Nola proved to be an amazing experience for my daughter and me as the last leg of our Spring Break Southern Food Tour. After experiencing one fabulous meal after the next, on our last day, it was highly recommended we visit a particular establishment. But after finding out there was an hour wait, we decided against it. Not to worry, my restaurant sleuthing skills never failed me and I quickly found Luzianne Cafe. We needed one last fabulous meal in this fabulous town before we began our drive back to Chicago. And it did not disappoint. We pulled up and there was a decent line at this down-home, warm and inviting eatery. Diners ordered and paid at the counter and found their own seating. This was perfect as we really wanted to just eat something extraordinary and hit the road, without all the extra fanfare. We both ordered the chicken and waffles, a side of scrambled eggs with cheese, and coffee for there and to go. Of course we cleaned our plates... we were in N'awlins, after all. Even though there were no waiters, per se, the staff on hand made sure we had everything we needed to make this experience an exceptional one.
Can't go wrong! It's so good, so cute & doesn't break the bank Me and my boyfriend went a few months back and loved it! Friendly staff - it was super busy but they got us right in and we found a table to sit at! Food was superior! Next time we're in Nola we are gonna have to stop! 10/10!
A quick search for breakfast and walking distance from our hotel brought us here. Customer service was good. You order your food and pick your own seat. The grits were good. Simple but tasty. I enjoyed the shrimp po boy. They were fried well. We're not locals and wanted to try some beignets. They were terrible. Just fried puffed up dough and empty on the inside. I was so disappointed I forgot to take a picture to explain what we saw.
During our stay in NOLA, we stopped by luzianne during lunch, and we were not disappointed! We wanted to try a po boy and so glad we got it here! The fried shrimp po boy had perfectly fried shrimps with light lettuce and tomato mix with some fresh pickled cucumbers and mayo! The buns were toasted and the combo was so good and fresh! We also ordered the fried chicken sandwich! The chicken was delicious and fried perfectly. The flavors were more acidic forward with some tart notes to it, more than I expected, but it all worked and was really good! The seating is free for all and the food was served really fast! Nice little diner vibes and perfect for lunch!

This place is often overlooked and its a great little tourist stop. The prices are very good for the central business district; and in a city where it can be hard to get into places for breakfast, this place is more fast and efficient. Think of it more as a food hall, with counter service and the food is brought to your table. This is a great spot for someone who is heading to a convention and can't spend all morning at breakfast. The food is pretty solid and will give you just enough southern touch while still being a fully familiar menu. The coffee is excellent but mostly basic offerings. I'm an iced tea addict and enjoy that I can get my own refill and choose between sweet, unsweet, and mango tea. The best part is almost too understated - the cafe features the historic brands of French Market Coffee, Luzianne Tea, and Blue Plate Mayo. I would say that from a tourist perspective a lot of folks aren't that familiar with the brand heritage, and I would like to see more of the brand story within the building. But there is a retail area and old ads around the room if you are inclined to get better acquainted.
Luzianne Cafe, which is based on the nostalgic tea brand of all our southern kiddos childhood, sits about two blocks off of Poydras at the corner of Constance and Girod, and is a bright, open, well maintained cafe serving up breakfast and lunch classics in addition to a full bar that includes frozen boozy drinks...because New Orleans! We checked into our nearby hotel a bit early in the day and was looking to hit the streets for a spot to get a chill/light breakfast, a coffee and maybe a cocktail. We found all the things at Luzianne Cafe. Whether you belly up to the bar or grab a table, both of which are first come first serve, you start at the counter where you order, pay and grab your table number. It appears that during busy times they allow you to sit first and order from the QR at your table, this is an assumption given the code to order at the table, but the sign at the entry directed folks to the counter to order before sitting. For breakfast, we got the breakfast biscuit which came with eggs, bacon and cheese, and sided it with grits. The breakfast sandwich was solid, eggs were a bit soft and grits were more mealy than we are used to, but I think that may be authenticity of the area more than anything. I opted for the three option omelet with onion, sausage and gouda plus a side of sausage links. The omelet, though odd sounding combination turned out to be solid. Maybe it was my options, but it was decently "one note" in flavor. I tossed a little hot sauce on and that helped. However, while the sausage links were not much to look at, they were tasty, with a nice snap to the casing and meaty inside. To go with our breakfast, I got a cold brew with a splash of almond milk while my partner embraced NOLA and started his day with a bourbon sour. Both of us enjoyed our choices! Service was friendly and helpful at the counter/bar. The food runner was nice and then another member, assuming the Manager, that stopped by to check on us mid meal. She was super friendly and nice. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and drinks at Luzianne. Minor things noted, mainly on the cook of the eggs, but nothing awful. It his the spot and checked the boxes! read more
Came here for an early breakfast with my toddler and service was super friendly. Food was delicious, place had a lot of seating. I went by their recommendations and got the boudin Benedict, since that's not something I would find outside of NOLA. Got a huge sausage egg and cheese sandwich with the fluffiest eggs that was also super yummy. My 18 month old ate half of it. Would definitely return. read more

This was my first time in New Orleans and goodness I love it here! This particular place was a corner store and not sure how to pronounce the name, but they had a really good deal chicken and waffles for $15 a plate! Maybe it's just California where everything is $25 a plate! I really like their coffee options also And all self-serve. I really wanted to try there coffee but it had milk/cream in it so I was worried about my lactose intolerant self with the cream. Lol. Everything was very clean and I loved the old-fashioned coffee cans that were decorated around the area! I will go back to this coffee shop again!! And everything tasted delicious! We also got some side dishes of coffee cake, as well as some scrambled eggs and biscuits and gravy that we shared amongst the table! I was very happy with the prices and the delicious flavor!! Luzianne Cafe is a wonderful restaurant with all day breakfast or all day lunch. You can order at the counter or from your seat via a QRCode. There's a self serve beverage counter. You receive your cups once your order is placed. It's a comfortable restaurant with homey tile floors, warm wood walls and cabinets. read more

This place was so good after eating cruise food for 5 days. The inside is homey and spacious and we got our food pretty fast but it was a Thursday morning. I got the morning joy breakfast sandwich. I don't eat meat so I subbed for extra egg and it was so filling. The biscuit was fresh and buttery. I could barely finish my meal, I almost regret ordering hash browns in case I wasn't full. LOL. But those were crispy and fresh, I had to chow down. The employees were sweet and helpful picking things off the menu. read more

I learned about this place from a NOLA food influencer I follow on Instagram. I'm happy I had the opportunity to stop it. The space is warm kinda reminds me of The Loveless Cafe in Nashville. The restaurant is counter service, you place your order and have a seat. Once your meal is ready one of the awesome team members brings your meal to your table. I loved that there were several options of iced tea!! The chicken salad salad was a light midday meal. Enough to get you through. The fried chicken sandwich was absolutely decadent. Dipped in a sweet heat sauce on a toasty bun served with a delicious dill cream sauce I was in heaven. The fries were absolutely perfect. Super crisp and light. I made sure to dip my fries in the spicy Blue Plate mayo. This spot has several options to choose from! Definitely a little something for everyone. read more

Came here for a quick breakfast before heading to the airport for home. Loved the look and feel of the restaurant very open and clean. I enjoyed the decor throughout the restaurant with use of the historic warehouse like memorial. You order at the counter then proceed to your table with your number. But if you order a coffee drink like a latte, then you do wait for it at the counter. The food was just ok, thus minuses the star. The chicken was small with more breading than chicken, the biscuit breakfast sandwich was on the dry side with American cheese that tasted manufactured, and the beignets were dry and somewhat stale. If your not too picky with food taste, definitely come for the service and environment! read more

All we Eastern-time types need to eat early and often, and Luzianne let's you beat the crowds who are still asleep as they prepare for some hoity-toity brunch elsewhere. I should have gotten the Creole Calas (sweet rice fritters), but I was good and got an egg white omelette. High marks for good flavor (or was that just my artful picking as I "built my own"). The coffee was grand and worth coming even if you aren't hungry. Lots of helpful tips on other places to try while I was there as well, and the staff was friendly and prompt. Luzianne Cafe is a great place to stop for breakfast. They have multiple options and everything was delicious. I ordered a Cafe Bonbom and eggs Benedict on a biscuit. Others ordered a sandwich and chicken and waffles. Everyone was pleased with their meals and left very full. There was plenty of space to sit and enjoy. The facility was clean and quiet. We walked there but Looked like street parking. Service was fast and staff was polite. If I return to NoLA, I'd definitely go eat there again. read more

For me to give 5 - everything has to be on point, and it was! From cleanliness, service, and food! Walk in and menu is mounted on TVs as you walk in on the left. Cashier takes your order and given a number. Large areas to sit from two tops to 10 tops or more. I ordered the gordoto (shot of expresso) that's frothy and full of yumminess. Strong and not bitter so made perfectly for all you coffee drinkers. Next was the eggs Benedict, hollandaise on the side. Basic eggs benny...no frills or muss and the hollandaise!!! Slather me all over in it. Just the right amount of lemon juice - creamy and not too thick. Usually I eat 1/2 of the eggs benny but I ate both muffins. Sorry about lack of picture...got distracted with food. Definitely try the hot sauce with it. Music playing is chill - and it's really refreshing to see the workers happy to be working. The bus boy ran around with a smile on his face which was great to see. Good size menu with some nice New Orleans flavors- not too overwhelming where they have honed in on their recipes and made them the best. Will be back! read more
