The staff was very friendly at this location and provided efficient service. I appreciated the holiday decor and outfits. We got a waffle, side of eggs, and side of hash browns with jalepenos. I appreciated that our sides came with complimentary toast. We got the eggs scrambled and I liked that they did not seem to use too much oil, butter, or filler. Tasted like how I would make scrambled eggs at home ina good way. The hash browns were good but I wish they gave us some more. The toast was standard, a little too soggy but I liked the butter on it and the whipped butter that came on the side with my waffle. The waffle was good but unfortunately a bit undercooked. This is my first time eating Waffle House ever! The service was really friendly (shout out to Freddy and the team!) it was jam packed and although we had to wait it was worth it. Okay- so the 5 star is for judging this by what it is--a Waffle House. I have eaten here twice in the past 2 months due to travel to visit my Hoo. One time at 3 am since that is when I arrived from driving and once at 5pm for breakfast for dinner with my Hoo. Both times I ordered decaf coffee and fresh pots were made for me. Food isn't fancy but it is good. Service was perfect both times. If you expect fancy or something other than good solid food with good service...you will be disappointed. But again, even with tip, our breakfast for dinner was 30 dollars for 2 people--I spent 16 dollars for 3 tacos and 2 drinks at Taco Bell today and it wasn't half as good. read more

This rating is a minus 1 star! Service - my family had issues with this location last year in September and decided we would give it a try since we've been craving Waffle House. This location was completely empty when we pulled up. Should've been a clear indication of what was to come. He started preparing food by digging in the ingredient bucket for my hash browns with his bare right hand and left hand still had the pen and paper from him taking the order. We saw that and instantly I said "I'm not hungry" to my family. Ambience - With an empty restaurant I would've expected a cleaner store. The food prep area and floor had shredded hash browns all over the counter and floor. There was lettuce and tomatoes laying on the bare food prep counter. There was no one in the restaurant so we didn't understand why the fixings were was exposed on the prep counter. Food- after experiencing what we did, it was apparent that we would be in for the same poor experience my family had in September 2022. So there are no pictures of food. I'm not from the part of the country where there are Waffle Houses, so this was my first visit. The food was delicious, I got hash browns, eggs, and toast. However, the poor cook was seriously overworked. He was working by himself and didn't have anyone else to cook. He had to turn away people who wanted to sit down and eat because he could only cook for so many people at once. Because he was so overworked, I didn't make a big deal about the fact that some of our food never arrived. We ordered a couple of things that we never got. We needed to get going, so we left without them and without asking for our money back for items we didn't get. Next time I would like to try an actual waffle. While staying across the street from this particular Waffle House I stopped in for breakfast one morning on my way to work. I was the only one in there, around 6AM and was served immediately. The staff was talkative and friendly. One particular lady, I think her name was Loretta, was very friendly and helpful and nice. The food I got was good. Went there around 6pm. There was only 1 other customer eating. Sat at a booth and waited....and waited. Finally someone came over and took our drink order, and never brought drinks over to us. We waited while she was looking at her phone and told the other worker she was fixing to leave. She then plugged her phone to charge and still nothing. I assume the other worker was coming to take our order but nope she walked by and never seen her again. We waited about 5 minutes and decided to leave. Thats when she made eye contact like where are yall coming...really. I dont understand lazy people. read more

They are open 24 hours, but they only offer ToGo service after 10:30. When passing through town late at night on a long drive, I don't want to eat sunnyside eggs and hashbrowns from a Styrofoam tray while sitting in my car. I need to walk around, sit at a table, and relax a little while. The outside signage says "Open 24 hours." But some of the other staff was questionable. My experience there was very unprofessional and with slow service, inattention to the fact that our food was not prepared, lack of a thank you for tip that I actually should not have provided, no apology for the fact that my wife's food was not even prepared until another staff person had to inform her. I have been a loyal customer of Waffle House for around 20 years and never filed a complaint until now. On Sunday, 10/30/2022, is the last day I will EVER go to the Waffle House on 495 Premier Circle, Charlottesville, VA 22901. The reason is due to a blatant lie the manager said to a server about me. The manager said that I ordered an omelette and walked out while it was being made. This NEVER happened. The only time I ever walked out of a Waffle House without my order was on September 30th, yes they were busy and understaffed, when the server didn't take my order and I was waiting 45-60 minute to place a takeout order. The server kept saying it would be a few but she never took my order but kept taking the orders of other patrons that was eating in house. On thanksgiving day of all days we came across the rudest staff you could imagine. As soon as we stepped in the very rude and nasty lady at front was cursing under her tongue about people showing up. This lady reeked of foul body odor and explained to her fellow employer she wouldn't be opening up another section for our large group including a newborn. We were told to sit at booth by front door. Well the booth was disgusting with many meals worth of gunk stuck to table. 3 staff watched as we cleaned our own table then tryed to take our order smelling like dirty socks. I love me some Waffle House! The only chain I would be more excited to have open a location near me would be White Castle. In the absence of a Waffle House near home, I make it a point to stop here every time I pass through Charlottesville, and it does not disappoint. Somehow they seem to make every Waffle House exactly the same, not just the building, but the staff and the atmosphere. It's not what you would call "high-class", but that's part of the charm. At least one waitress in each location is disgruntled at all times, but the rest will be really friendly. The cooks will be working hard whether there are three tables full or a line out the door waiting. And most importantly, your coffee will be topped off constantly. The food at this location is just like every other Waffle House; hot, tasty, filling, and cheap. I am a big fan of the cheesesteak omelet, but if you are not in the mood for a greasy gut-bomb, the pecan waffle is pretty much unbeatable. First time at a Waffle House, and I will say I was happy with the price of the food and what I got. For $2, I got a sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit. The biscuit was heated up on the grill on both sides and apparently very buttered because when I started eating the sandwich, the biscuit was super hot and crumbly. Yum. Boyfriend and I shared a large order of homefries. Too much for the both of us. He ordered coffee, two eggs over easy, grits, and wheat toast. For the two of us, it cost $12..62. If I could rate the service a zero I would. My husband and I walked in and waited to be acknowledged by staff and never even got a nod. We sat ourselves at a table by the windows only to be ignored by the staff for about 10 minutes before moving to a dirty kitchen side counter table. We were all but ignored for another 10 minutes by all staff, including the man bussing dirty tables nearby. The server made eye contact but never said a word to us. It was a really frustrating experience and I am exceptionally patient, as is my spouse , so a hello or nod would have helped. It was busy but plenty of empty seating. This Waffle House gets a negative 1. We visited this Waffle House one night about 10pm. Entered the restaurant to all this fussing back and forth, foul language between this server and cook I suppose. There were no other employees present in the restaurant. He walked out and she goes on to tell us how terrible he is and that he was called in to work and didn't want to be there. She says customers had been walking out all night due to this behavior in the restaurant and I could see why. There was only one other table of 4 customers in the restaurant, which appeared to be college students. Part of the restaurant was closed off with chairs and all the other tables were dirty. She starts to make the tables food and told us she would clean the table we were standing next to once she got a chance. We walked out as well. As we were walking out we see whom I guess is the cook walking back in with his cell phone in his hand. By far this is our worse experience at any Waffle House. I called the next day hoping to speak with a manager to only get a recording which goes nowhere but to hangs up. read more

Came in to WH on a Sunday evening and the place was empty. the four of us sat a booth. The table had been wiped but surface was so streaked that you could feel the dried ridges of the dirt from the rag that used. The waitress was very nice and friendly and handed us menus that were very sticky. So now we all had to wash our hands before we even ordered. Waitress and cook having some personal problems communicating. I don't know why this town has the dirtiest tables in the state. you go accross the state line to North Carolina and I have never gotten a dirtly table or menu. read more

What a disappointing experience. My friend and I were driving down from Philly/NYC to visit our friend at UVA and I urged my friend to stop at a Waffle House. I was going purely off nostalgic instinct because I had a great memory of a waffle house when I was a child. Boy If I could punch my self as a child I would. We walked in to a horribly desolate restaurant with one disgruntled employee. I tried to be over exuberant to get her in a better mood but to no avail. After we ordered which took about 10 minutes because she was so slow, I asked her if we could eat our meals here instead of go. After this, two amazing things proceeded to happen: 1. She said it was impossible to change the order (which it clearly wasn't because she did nothing to prepare it) 2. a TO-GO Tax I don't know about you but I've never heard of a TO GO tax, and for all I know it was just a scam she pulled to put more money in her own pocket. As for the food, it was OK, nothing I couldn't get at another fast food joint. The meat was cheap, the coffee tasted like plastic. Thank god I was super hungry.
