Waffle House on League Line is usually good & with good service. After tonight they get an F from me. Horrible service!!! Waited forever for her to come take our order & Only because we called her. Sje was more interested in chatting up the guys at the counter & the guy cooking & eating. Food came out 1 person at our table at a time. The others had to wait! We had to ask for our drinks... She brought coffee for two of us & only 1 had actually asked for it. The others had to again ask for their drinks! Had to ask again for syrup. I woke up with a hankering for a waffle. There is a Waffle House that I pass every day on my way to work so I resolved to drop in for a waffle. I assumed that if the word "waffle" is included in the name of your restaurant, that implies that you serve up some delicious waffles. This Waffle House serves up waffles very much like the ones my dear old dad used to make when I was a kid. We never really ate them. Mostly we used them for door stops. Rachel was the best waitress ever. Enjoyed speaking with her. She has a genuine interest in you. The food was good. Had the grits bowl with sausage and requested over easy egg. Pure yummy goodness as I opened the yolk and it drizzled all down the grits n sausage. Hash browns w/cheese and jalapeños was a good portion the small portion. If I could I'd give no stars. The wait was ridiculous only 1 person bussing tables and and playing hostess at the same time. Giant line mainy open seats person couldn't keep up help was needed. After waiting forever for a table we get seated by the bathrooms smh disgusting. We only ordered drinks then our waitress disappeared to the bathroom it was obvious. We decided to leave because of lack of service and was given a bill for our drinks. We went to pay and had to wait in that ridiculous line. There was no one at the register and a waitress proceeded to tell us that they were backed up and we would have to wait to pay. It's waffle house, what can you say? The cook was very nice and helped get a few things for me while the waitress was busy. I was passing through the area and am not form there, and and the waitress was genuinely nice to everyone and had conversations with every single table except myself. Usually there's a girl working there that always wears a tinker bell hoodie, she is horrible and extremely rude. But this last time we went, there were 3 people working I had never seen before, including the cook. They were so friendly and had a smile the whole time, even at 2 am, they just kept smiling like they actually enjoyed being there. Literally the worst Waffle House I've been to ever. I wanted to take my boyfriend to Waffle House because he's never been and this one was the closest one to where we lived. I was so disappointed in the service. We came in and no one greeted us. We wanted Orange juice and they were out of that. So we asked for apple juice and they brought us juice boxes. It's a Waffle House, so the food is just the same as any other. This rating is for the employees. Eggs are kept in a basket above the grill. Eggs are to be kept at 45 degrees or below and taken out as needed. There's also a scoop for ice that Mary forgot to use as she scooped a cup into the ice bin. Another no-no. My husband and I have eaten here quite a few times on our way back home from his chemotherapy treatment in Houston. We have never had a problem there before due to it was summer time and hot outside. As we was walking in an older couple told us to get jackets on its freezing in there. We went in and set down and sure enough it was freezing. The windows are getting condensation on them. I was freezing now and my husband with cancer is freezing also. I ordered a waffle and it got cold so fast my butter wouldn't melt. I asked her to please turn the air off and was told "If I do they will turn it right back on." By now my nose is running so I took my plate outside and stood by the door and ate half of my waffle. It was to cold to eat so I went back in and noticed the manager was out there now which instead of apologizing he gave me a go to hell look. I thought thats ok, so hot coffee might help and the waitress came and asked my husband if he would like more coffee and looked at me and went on. Really?? I thought. In my experience, Waffle House is always busy and friendly place to visit, but there was something different about today. We don't often go out for breakfast but decided we'd go out today. When we walked into the door an unassuming gentleman named Walt greeted us and asked us our preference for seating. His manner was like that of James Stewart such that the greeting seemed even more genuine than the one he was paid to give. I watched as he busily tended to the mundane tasks with care. He greeted every customer in a likewise manner and it felt a privilege to be there somehow. All the staff were friendly and seemed more like family. Our waitress, Martha, served us a hot, fresh, and delicious breakfast and was very friendly and polite as well. It kind of felt like we were somewhere else in time, maybe in a small town. Wow! Terrible service. Cassie was very rude when asked if she could clear a table for us to sit. She gave back attitude and told me i could wait because she was stressed. SO RUDE!!! Not including the other lady sat and talked to a table for 25 minutes about colleges instead of taking their order and cleaning off the 5 tables vacant and dirty with dishes. This is probably the worst experience I've had at a Waffle House. There were multiple families waiting to be seated and multiple tables vacant but covered in old dishes while the staff stood around and made jokes and played in the kitchen. Our waitress obviously did not want to seat us, let alone serve us over the group of men that walked in the door and flirted with her. To make a point we left a tip anyways. The food was ultimately sub par. Burnt bacon and ham, hash browns not even decently cooked and while the patty melt was slabbed with butter, none of the cinnamon raisin toast had any on it ! The grill was uncleaned and unscraped of any char (there was much by the way). The cooks kept fraternizing with the waitresses while leaving food unattended. Which is most likely why everything was cooked in such a way. The only good location seems to be on League Line Road and this one was just your typical bad restaurant. read more
