You can find this Yellow simple font sign on the free standing house almost every exit in Tennessee. We stopped by this store on our half way trip to Townsend. I ordered the steak and egg with extra crispy hash brown. My girlfriend got the pecan waffle with double hash brown. More than one waitress on cell phones while waiting on me. Food delivered, no silverware, missing bacon, took me a good 3 minutes to get the waitress's attention to rectify because she was on the phone. Ordered dry toast due to lactose intolerance. I was served and I unknowingly ate butter on the toast. Waitress had the nerve to tell me it wasn't a big deal. Actually, for me, it's a pretty big deal. A thousand miles from home, on the road, no hotel close by. Thanks, I'll just go be sick in my car. I told her it was a big deal and she said she told the cook "no butter" so it wasn't her problem. (She told me it wasn't her problem twice). No apology at all. I was dumbfounded. Most Waffle Houses are decent enough. I would avoid this location at all costs. This location was very busy and understaffed but they tried their best to get people in and seated. Once ordered everything came out really fast. Everything we ate was cheap and delicious. My eggs were perfectly done (over easy) and the grits were really good and needed no extra seasoning or spread. Everyone was super friendly. Will definitely be a regular at this location. read more

Horrible place. The worst Waffle House my family and I have been to. When we got in there was a pile of dirt and trash in the middle of the floor right away when you go in the restaurant. Apparently one of the workers swept the floor but did not finish his/her job. One of the workers yelled at us and said "You'll have to wait 10 minutes as we have to clean the grill. We told them that we can wait. They seemed happy that we wanted to stay and wait. We waited about 5 minutes until one of the workers came and got our order. We waited literally 30 minutes for our food. They were horrible. The waffles were dark brown, hard, and cold. Sausage patties were overcooked and very hard. For strips of bacon they were like eating a piece of cardboard. We should have demanded them cook other food for us but the atmosphere was very uncomfortable there and we had to leave in a rush. read more

Nastiest Waffle House ever visited...water had black stuff floating in it, floor and place was nasty see photo--food was sitting there cold and when it was brought to us it was all cold, bacon was black burnt , then when we stood up then the older lady with red hair and glasses said don't get mad at her--- we weren't mad but them yelling at us was not good customer service. I could go on and on but the picture says it all. The health department needs to pay them a visit. read more

I always love the Waffle House experience and this one was no different. Fast hot fresh food in the morning when you're trying to get out of town is always a plus. With a party of six we were seated immediately and got our food and left within about a 25-minute. These people are expert egg and waffle makers. Loved both along with some grits and hash browns. Splash some coffee on top of that and for about $9 a person you're fed and ready to roll. Love the service love the kindness love the food love the place. read more

I have visited many Waffle House locations in my day and this one was superb compared to most. The waitress was very pleasant and the food was good as well. I recommend having the grits al dente they were excellent. Our entire meal was cooked to our liking. For the price and convenience you really can't go wrong. This Waffle House made up for the unpleasant experience we had at other locations. I'm sure many people have horror stories of their own when it comes to WH. As far as the regular portions of a review; cleanliness, greeting, seating, service speed, food quality, etc .... it's a standard Waffle House ! To the uninitiated, a Waffle House tends to be greasy comfort food, delivered in a less than sterile environment, served quickly less than formal staff. Perfectly nice as a breakfast stop, or after an evening out partying, but probably not the one you want for a nice sit down dinner with the family. read more

I went there on my last day visiting my sister and it practically ruined my day one lady was yelling across the kitchen they all looked like they were on drugs and one woman kept singing they talked trash about us in front of us because they didn't give us our waffle and we asked about it ordered 3 chocolate milks and never got them and had to ask 4 times and didn't get them until after we were done eating and it was dirty the price was outrageous I will never eat there again and don't recommend anyone to that doesn't want their day ruined. read more

So it's not haute cuisine, but it is fairly good and was quick. I like the waffles since they are not Belgian style. There's enough places that do those. We, from Wisconsin, bring our own butter. Not a fan of the margarine that is served. Try the biscuits instead of toast. They were tender and relatively delicate. Hash browns with onions were well done. Grits were good too. read more
