Rolled into town this morning and after hours on the road, we were all quite hungry. Can't beat a Waffle House for quick, friendly and fresh food at a good price. This visit was no exception. Kim, our waitress was incredible. Friendly, prompt and very knowledgeable. Our meal was made fresh, right in front of us, by a very efficient crew. My waffle was perfect as was my cheese eggs. The atmosphere is very down to earth, "locals" type and I appreciate that. We will be in Daleville for a week and I suspect this will be our breakfast joint for the duration of our visit. There is plenty of parking in a private parking lot and the place is organized and clean. read more

The food is average at best. The coffee is awful. My meal made me sick. My waitress was very efficient. But everything else was bad.

In the last year and a half I have visited this location on numerous occasions and have had great service there. I feel nat home in there even though i get silly and get the Waiter/Waitress to laugh at what i might say jokingly. Kim, Diamond, and Mackenzie to name a few. This doesn't mean the others are not good, but these are the recent ones there now since ive been coming back that I can remember atm. I stopped in today and was pleasantly surprised by the grilled chicken sandwich I ordered. I expected the chicken breast to be dry and rubbery, as they typically have been in my years of dining experience. This one was neither - it was tender, perfectly spiced, and absolutely delicious. I discovered that Waffle House has recently begun a partnership with Springer Mountain Farms, and I have to say I'm impressed with the flavor and quality! That said, service was a bit slow. There were two waitresses and only one cook, and it took a while for him to get started on our orders after we placed them. Once the food was on the grill, things sped up a bit. Short edit: I am leaving my original review below but upping the stars to reflect a mix of previous AND current service. I spoke to the manager and he was very apologetic and assured me that 4 spoon fulls of chili isn't the proper amount. HAH. I used to come here fairly often for very late night meals - since there aren't many options. Generally everything was good, at least it was what I expected. The last two times I have gotten take out have been amazingly bad. The first time they forgot to include items I paid for and managed to give us sloppy, slimy eggs that were ordered "over-hard" - along with another notable mistake. Tonight was laughably bad. We ordered a couple of simple sandwiches and two bowls of chili. I am uploading pictures so you can see why it was laughable. The "bowls" of chili we ordered and paid for ended up being less than a quarter of a small coffee cup of chili. This equaled about 4 small spoon fulls of chili. I called to ask if they had simply run out of chili and made due - thinking that this was pretty unacceptable. However, the man I spoke to insisted that management has been "cracking down on portions" to save money. I can appreciate that, to a degree. But I did PAY MONEY for a bowl of chili, not for a sample of chili. After being a long time customer, tonight will officially be the last time I bother ordering from the Daleville Waffle House. If you do decide to order take out from this greasy spoon, always check your items first and request any condiments or utensils as needed. Otherwise, expect to be disappointed. Edited to add: The last two times I requested ketchup packets, the waitresses were not sure they had any! And when I requested spoons for my chili, I was informed they no longer offer spoons. They also never send a pack of crackers with the chili. At the very least, order some spoons - you don't pay your employees enough to justify needing to cut corners on everything. read more

We were not coming back to eat here, my last visit before this was the worst....the evening crew at this waffle house is the absolute worst I have ever seen. Came here for a late night meal. The place was empty other than the staff, and they seemed very welcoming. Gloria served us, and I can honestly say she was the sweetest server I have ever had at any restaurant. The entire staff was nice and the food was really great. Waffle House is not a fancy restaurant to begin with so my expectations are manly high in regards to warm food that tastes great no matter when. Waffle House has been my choice for after a night of drinking and partying. I was in a pinch today and I was hungry so I decided to give it a try sober. I enjoyed my meal and the waitress was amazingly polite. I never had to ask for anything and my food was so hot that it was still steaming when it arrived.
