So Josh is the cook here and he works second shift. He cooks extremely well and his food was "perfect". My husband and I frequent different Waffle Houses even in different states and Josh's food was impeccable and clean. The store was clean and Riri kept the service at 100%. I was initially excited to see a new Waffle House being established in Desoto, Texas, until today's first and last visit (04/08/23 around 2p). Once I entered the restaurant, I was disappointed in the seating arrangement but looked past that issue. While waiting to be seated, I experienced a Hispanic female manager who argued with her employee and then discussed the issue with a customer stating, "She had to get into mama mode," in which none of those employees was her child, which showed poor management skills. While waiting to be seated, I then experienced a Black older male cook who argued and yelled with his counterparts stating, "He would send them home." I felt so bad for the younger employees as these experiences created a hostile work environment and even made me feel uncomfortable. The food was good and memorable, but I will not be visiting this NEW location again based on these experiences.....This NEW location could BENEFIT from new leadership and team building skills. read more

Wow!! So I placed a to go order and as I'm paying for it - the waitress proceeds to ask for a tip. I told her the 10% charge on the receipt is already applied and she then says that's for plasticware. Once I said okay keep the change - she then reads to me the price of my order insinuating that it wasn't enough. Ma'am I'm aware and I have no issue tipping but who does that? This was by far the best experience I have ever had at a Waffle House location! We were seated just a minute after we walked in. Our servers were extremely attentive and took our orders after we had a moment to look over the menu. Our food came out hot and within minutes of ordering (I recommend the cheesesteak hash brown melt, it was delicious!). This restaurant completely changed my view on Waffle House. This is the WORST waffle house ever! Staff very unprofessional. Waitress dirty, talking and cussing with other employees, no covid measures taking. Goes from touching money to food without washing hand, no hand sanitizer anywhere. The cook went out to his car came back and just started cooking. And service is brtu slow. Well it was packed on the day after Christmas, but didn't take long to get a table. The waitress was very nice, and the food was as expected from Waffle House; hot, fresh, and plenty of it for a great price. It's hard to do breakfast wrong, and bacon, eggs, flour, and potatoes are cheap staples. So six bucks for a waffle, two eggs, four strips of bacon, two sausage patties, two pieces of toast and a heap of hash browns, is a deal worth waiting for when you're on the road. WORST SERVICE EVER!! The food wasn't as hot coming to the table. My sister order a side of sausage that we never received. Our drinks weren't refilled. When I ask the waitress if I could get grape jelly bc she kept bringing strawberry, her reply was "you want me to walk back over there?" Yes! That's your job, right?
