Stopped by during a late-night Walmart run to see what this place had to offer. It's conveniently located off Belt Line Road in DeSoto, near Waffle House. I've seen advertisements for Beef-a-Roo for a while and pass by this location frequently, so I decided to give it a try. The customer service was great, and the menu offers a good variety of options, including chicken, beef, and pork. On this visit, I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. Unfortunately, it didn't quite meet my expectations. I prefer a Buffalo sandwich that is fully coated in sauce, but this one seemed like the sauce was simply added on top. The chicken itself was average, and the bun was noticeably larger than the chicken portion. On a positive note, the fries and lemonade were both above average and helped balance out the meal. While this visit wasn't a home run, it wasn't a total miss either. I'd be willing to give Beef-a-Roo another try in the future, but I'd likely order a different menu item next time. read more

The service was quick. The parking lot was pretty clean. I ordered and pulled up to the window. I drove off and looked at the sandwich. I'm not quite sure why the meat was at the bottom outside of the bun. I just tossed it so not sure how it tasted. It seemed almost to be a joke. read more

I had a great experience here today. I was in town for work and wanted to try this joint. Went to the drive-thru and ordered their olive, double cheeseburger. The window employee was very friendly and had a great disposition. She came out to give me my iced tea, which tasted very fresh. I pulled up to the window and waited, just a bit. The burger pattys were cooked and seasoned well. The olives added a pleasant saltiness. I'll definitely be back. read more

I was so excited to visit the Beef a Roo in DeSoto given that I always had such a great experience when I worked in Rockford Illinois and would always visit Beef a roo. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the experience in De Soto. The staff is super young and inexperienced and it doesn't seem like it's managed well. overall the staff was polite, but just there for a check. I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap and fries and everything was good. I dined in and the cleanliness of the restaurant was very concerning. There was ketchup everywhere stains on the tables, fries, ketchup on the floor, and the whole establishment's floor is not being mopped correctly as it was very slippery and just felt very gross. I regretted dining in. Also very concerning to see staff working the kitchen with hair and no hair nets in sight. Yikes. This is a pretty good fast food spot. The service was fast and friendly. We tried a little bit of everything but my favorite was the Wild West Roast Beef sandwich. Waaaay better than anything you would get at Arby's (IYkYk - for all my roast beef sandwich eaters) The smash burgers were also great! Crispy fries and onion rings were also top tier. I had no idea what we were getting into at Beef-a-Roo until we checked out the menu the first time. We had been waiting for some time to see what they would offer and were pleasantly surprised. As with any new opening, there were some rough patches with our order; but they happily made things right. It's a big varied menu with burgers, sandwiches, soup, wraps and salads with your choice of chicken, beef and even fish and pork tenderloin. I did learn though, that similar to Arby's, there are sandwiches with only meat on them. I mean nothing but meat and bread. They do have some condiment packets in a dining room tray; but there's nothing else in the dining room like pickles or onions. I had been on a no onion/no lettuce/no garlic diet after surgery and there wasn't much I could order without making it difficult, so I chose the Mushroom Swiss Beef - thinly sliced beef on a sesame seed bun, topped with Swiss cheese, mushrooms, and onion rings. I asked for the onion rings on the side; but I didn't get onion rings at all, which was okay; however the sandwich was so dry without any sauce or veggies. Fortunately they gave me pickles and tomatoes at no charge and I added mayo and horseradish to flip the switch on flavor and moisture. I wouldn't order it again, though, without adding all of the above-mentioned items at the time I ordered. The cheese curds were delicious though. Chewy and cheesy, it was a nice surprise to see them on the menu. My husband's fries were also very good. Fresh and crisp on the outside, soft on the inside. My husband had ordered a Double Bacon Cheeseburger combo meal with a drink and he was totally into it. Everything was Yummy according to him. But they did initially forget his fries and he had to go back for them. The dining room is "standard fast food restaurant" with some booths and tables but it was all very clean. The drive- thru was super busy and there was a fair amount of take out. We loved the menu with the Mahi Mahi fish sandwich, creative salads and wide variety of wraps and sandwiches. Fries were decent but the ranch was bottled store bought then served in a small condiment cup which gave the illusion it was fresh made. On yesterday (11/11/2025), I went inside to place my order this time because last week I waited over 30mins to get my order at the drive thru window. What I can say about last week is that the supervisor (an older black man w/glasses) kept me abreast of what was going on. He was very straight forward about the problem. He stated that staff made a mistake w/my order & he had them to do it over. He also asked me if I were willing to wait for my order. I said yes and he also offered me a cookie. However, today (11/11/2025) I elected to place my order (order 79) inside around 4:15p. I was the only customer inside; and 1 car was in the drive thru. The nice lady took my order but did run into some problems w/the system shutting down on her. Another staff member came to her aid. About that time, 3 cars were in the drive thru. After another 15mins, more cars were in the drive thru; and line was moving fast. I waited another 10mins then asked the female staff (who assisted me) about my order. She said it was coming as she assisted w/bagging food for the drive thru. More and more cars were zipping thru drive thru so fast that I regretted my choice. I asked the female staff again for the status of my meal; and before she could respond, an older very heavyset black man w/very short grey hair stepped around the corner and asked me if there was a problem. I respond yes and reiterated my concern. He tried to water it down by blaming the system. I told him I've been waiting for my food over 30mins or more. He looked at me then turned his back and said - it's coming in a dismissive manner. I asked again for clarity. He said again this time with more bass in this voice still w/his back to me, "It's coming." No face-to-face interaction. Later the female staff handed me my meal. Once I received my meal I told the older black man that I wasn't happy w/the way he handled my issue. Again w/his back to me & a dismissive tone, he said, "Have a good day." I was so taken aback w/his lack of professionalism, communication and dispute resolution skills that I would report him to Beef-A-Roo's Corporate Office. His response again w/his back to me using the same tone stated, "Have a good Day." This guy shouldn't be the face of Beef-A-Roo in DeSoto. P.S. If this happened to me then I know it has happened to others who may not have the courage to come forward. I will test my theory by reaching out to others thru NextDoor soon. The jr burger patty was dry and appeared to have not been cooked fresh to order. The waffle sweet potato fries were burnt. They do not serve coke a cola products and although there was only one care in the drive thru there was a wait to get our food. I had the veggie impossible burger. The taste rivals that of Burger Kings impossible burger. The patty was juicy and appeared meaty rather than grounded. It was over charred with extra crispy bits on the edges. This made it taste burnt. Once those bits were removed the taste was similar to its competitors. However I enjoy Burger Kings better. The drive though staff was friendly enough but perhaps they need to consider larger shirts for their staff. One employee had on a too small shirt with showed off her curves and all. The true review is zero stars. My husband and I just had the worst experience I have probably ever had at any fast food restaurant at the location in DeSoto, Texas - Order #169. This was our first visit, and we will never go back. It already started rocky when the gentleman took our order. He kept stating order items we didn't order, so we knew we would have to ask him to repeat the order, which we did at the order prompter and again at the window to ensure the order was taken accurately. We ordered four hamburger meals, and a kids meal. When we got our order, I checked it to discover that two of the burgers were incorrect. We told them what the issues were, so they could correct it. We get the burgers back, and they weren't even made over. I wasn't going to make it an issue as long as they fixed the minor things that were wrong (1.mustard only and no onions, 2. Mayo only and everything else). We got the burgers back, and number 1 burger has onions as well as ketchup, and number 2 burger had ketchup. We blew the horn to again let them know that the burgers were still wrong, and we needed them to actually cook a new order. After about two minutes, an older black heavier set woman with blond braids, who I assume was the manager, opened the window and had an attitude and said we keep saying something is wrong and they're making it the way we ordered, and that they can't keep having us in their line. Mind you, no one was behind us the entire time until we got the burgers back after they were given to them the first time. I told her they had not. The ticket has mustard with no onions, and mayo with no ketchup. I stated that if someone says mustard, that means no other condiments, and it someone says mayo, that means no other condiments. "The manager" stated we needed to pull up, and they would make whatever burger or whatever food is wrong again with an attitude. We pulled up, and waited about 15-20 minutes. It shouldn't take that long for two burgers. Finally, the young man who took our order came out to ask yet again what was on the burgers. My husband told him, and handed him the receipt. My husband asked how much longer would it be. The young man said 10 minutes. At this point, I'm livid because the burgers have been made incorrectly twice, and you have us to pull up to wait for 20 minutes and you hadn't even attempted to remake our order. I stated loudly we don't want this sh@@. I begin gathering up the drinks and food to return it all. The young man walked into the building. I walked up thinking it's a door, but it's an employee door. The manager comes out, and I told her we need our money back trying to hand her all the items. She states to just throw it away, and she will give us a refund. We throw all the drinks and food in the trash. My husband drove around to the front of the restaurant to go inside to get his refund. The service was despicable. The car behind us was still there, and had never been given their order. They were frustrated as well because they blew their horn several times to get someone's attention. Your business should be ashamed of itself with this kind of service. read more

After waiting and waiting for this restaurant to open, I looked forward to checking it out. I ordered 2 Jr cheeseburgers and 2 small fries at 12:17pm. (Lunchtime) after a considerable wait ( no one in line ahead of me) I anticipated hot, fresh, tasty burgers and fries. NOPE, the burgers were lukewarm, the cheese just sat there (would not, could not melt) because of the lukewarm burger it was sitting atop of.
