I really enjoy this location of a waffle house. The staff here are very friendly. They really do seem to enjoy their job. Everyone's smiling and friendly. They always make every guest feel welcome. I always get excellent service, excellent food, just overall excellent experience here.

The classic Waffle House experience! I enjoyed the eggs, hash browns & toast breakfast and split a chocolate chip waffle with my boyfriend. Everything was definitely diner food and the menu was pretty limited, but really good. It was a bit noisy and chaotic in the restaurant which made it hard to hold conversations at our table (the only reason I'm taking off a star).

The only thing good about the Waffle House is that it opens late (or 24/7, I forget) and the people are so darn nice and festive. The food is borderline edible. I would stay away from salads since it looks like it's been in the fridge for weeks and taste like it too. The pork chop is not bad but not much better than what you made at home. I guess just get the waffles and stuff cause you really can't mess that up. Their hash browns are good though. Stay with the breakfast items then you'll be fine.

Traditional Waffle House grand entrance includes most of the servers and cooks greeting you with a big, "Hello." What was unusual about this location was the fact that it was clean and the food wasn't sopped in grease. I usually only eat at the "awful waffle" once, maybe twice a year....but I have a feeling I'll be visiting more often for breakfast based on the experience I had here :).

Friendly staff. Patrons here seemed to be regulars. Clean table. The men's bathroom door stuck a little bit and I thought it was locked for the longest time. Food was on par for other Waffle Houses. Not a bad place to eat at 1:30am!

Went were sitting near the entrance but all 4 bar tenders were only serving the opposite end of the bar. Another couple that sat before us hadn't had any service yet either. Not even a greeting. 25 min was my limit. I'm fine waiting for good food and drinks but I like to be acknowledged. The live-ish music was decent, hence the one star.

Sadly, this visit was a huge letdown -- especially after spending over $100. The good: Our bartender, Karen, was amazing -- super attentive and made sure our drinks stayed full. The dumplings were the highlight of the night. Easy 10/10. The cocktails were solid, too. The bad: * We ordered three mac & cheeses -- all were dry and lacking flavor. * The broccoli was oversized, bland, and nearly inedible -- more like giant chunks than something appetizing. 1/10. * When I brought it up, Karen explained that's how it's always served, but no offer of a substitute or fix was made. * The famous blackened sauce tasted off -- a 4/10 at best. * The salmon was under-seasoned and came in two tiny pieces -- another 4/10. * And the catfish? Seasoned well, but completely undercooked -- pink on the inside. Totally unacceptable. -1/10. I get that every spot has an off day, but this meal was far below the standard I've come to love here. Outside of the dumplings and drinks, we left feeling disappointed and let down. I hope this was just a one-time slip because I've always enjoyed SC -- but tonight missed the mark by a mile.

I definitly still recommend winking lizard for a good American sports bar meal. Service is always great too and their seasonal items are always really good! I did notice a couple of things, and I don't know if this is a trend or a 1-off. The blue cheese sauce was super thin, the wing sauce was also thin and would not stick/coat the wings, and the draft beer menu seems MUCH smaller that I remember. All FWIW.

Stopped into Winking Lizard on Monday night with some friends to check out their Monday Wing Night…read more Bone-in wings are $0.90 each and boneless are $0.85, ordered in increments of five, which is a nice setup if you want to mix flavors. I went with 5 Bourbon Barrel wings and 5 Spicy Garlic, both bone-in. The Bourbon Barrel wings leaned sweet with a light bourbon note. Flavor was decent, but they were pretty light on sauce and didn't have much crisp for being fried -- honestly, they almost tasted baked. The wings also weren't very tender, and I had to work a bit to get the meat off the bone. And yes, I know some people would say "just get boneless," but I'm a bone-in guy -- the bone adds flavor, and boneless wings are usually more breading than chicken anyway. The Spicy Garlic had a nice kick and solid flavor, but unfortunately had the same texture issues as the Bourbon Barrel wings -- not crispy and not very tender. I also ordered blue cheese and celery. It was fine, but nothing special. The blue cheese flavor was pretty muted and didn't have that bold, tangy punch I usually look for. On the plus side, the steak fries were cooked correctly and did their job. One highlight was their Mardi Gras menu. We tried the beignets with bourbon maple glaze, and those were a pleasant surprise. They came out piping hot, dusted with powdered sugar, and while they're not a traditional beignet, the flavor was really good and easily the most memorable part of the meal. So was the experience great? I'd say it was good. The food was fine, serviceable, but not especially memorable. Would I come back? Probably -- just maybe not for the wings next time. But, let me add. We had Jordan as our server and he was a great server. He did an outstanding job!
