Starting my vacation on Christmas Day was a shot in the dark. I knew going into it that my meals might be limited to gas stations and/or whatever I found on the side of the road. Imagine my surprise when I found out that the Waffle House was open! Let's be serious, we aren't surprised. Waffle House has no family. Upon entering, there is no mistake where you are. Lights, windows, floor tiles. Everything checks out. You could scrub the name off everything at this establishment and the moment you walked in you would say, "oh, yeah. Waffle House. Nice." Some things just have That Look™ or Those Patrons™ or That Lawsuit™. Everything you've read about this place is true. In every location. Everywhere. Patron get a waitress pregnant? Check. Cook fistfight man parking his car? Check. Waffle with a cigarette butt cooked into it? Check. My saying is usually "hope for the worst, it's the least that can happen." Knowing the bare minimum for Waffle House will set you right up for experiencing their bare maximum. And that's exactly what I got! I ordered 1 (one) waffle, (2) Eggs, and (sausage). I'm a bacon man through and through, but the Waffle House Deities™ were whispering in my ear. Or screaming from the kitchen. I did not order the sticky table. That came as a bonus for dining there. The food came out and was not disappointed. The eggs were flat top grilled. Probably by a man working under an alias and getting paid cash under the table. They were a good constancy. A little S-n-P, and down the hatch they went. The sausage patties were round. As patties usually are. Don't let the dry, bland exterior food you. These actually had some good flavor. The kind of flavor you get from a cook with one hand. The waffle had a brown skin on it. Whether or not it came from the wild that way, nobody knows. The sound my knife made, scraping my butter across it was the type of sound a cook that works a lifetimes of close-opens makes. I'm writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service at Waffle House during my recent third-shift visit. Our waitress, Kirsten, was notably rude towards me. She brought my boyfriend's drink out immediately, but I had to actively request my own drink nearly 5 minutes later. Meanwhile, she was very sweet and flirtatious with him. Waffle House continues to fill its role of the blue collar breakfast joint and this particular location in Greendale is a very good location. Always clean and always good service at an affordable price point it fills its niche very well. I've tried a lot of their menu over the years but I found something I hadn't tried yet. It was their Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Hashbrown Bowl. It is a base of hashbrowns topped with egg, cheese, and of course bacon pieces. Now I've long felt that Waffle House has some of the best hashbrowns anywhere and this bowl really showcases them well. The toppings all work extremely well here and really are tasty together. It's a big ole bowl too and will fill even the heartiest appetite. Anyone that enjoys good hashbrowns should definitely try this out because it's top notch. read more

We were starving and tried getting breakfast at 4Speed Diner first but that didn't work out due to the wait time. Then tried SteakNShake..breakfast not served there. Then tried Howie's Diner..another 40 minute wait... Kept driving along and saw this Waffle House and I'm glad we did. They were busy but they were getting people fed and on their way. We were promptly greeted by Brenda and chose our seat. Brenda cleaned the table from the customers that were there before us and got out drink orders followed by our menu choices. It wasn't even 6 minutes and everything was out, hot, fresh and on point! I watched the cooks working fast and efficiently. This was my first time at a Waffle House. Came here with my family and was immediately greeted with smiles!! Sara was AWESOME!! So sweet!! Very clean environment, staff was super funny and friendly, as well as hardworking. :) Food was made super fast and was absolutely delicious. (The ham was PHENOMENAL) This is one of those rare restaurants that deserve more than five stars. Will remember, and would 100% recommend. We were in Lawrenceburg on business and ate at this Waffle House 2 mornings in a row. It was great both times. The first morning, I think our server was new and still learning. She seemed slower than the other servers, but newbies have to learn and learning Waffle House lingo is not easy. The food was great, though.The second morning, we had another server and everything went very smoothly and the food again was delicious. We were in the restaurant at 9pm. There was so much complaining coming from the staff about one another. One staff member actually gave other staff members the middle finger. While your server is trying their hardest to be kind, attentive, and courteous (which they do try), it's just difficult for them to do while they're either nodding off from a hefty amount of opiods, or are tweeking so hard that YOU can hear their heartbeat. I only recommend you drop in for an under-the-table drug buy, or an "unsharable" waffle that isn't worth sharing in the first place. read more

Coffee was horrible, creamer came to us with a bunch of them completely empty. I told the waitress egg whites and then even said hold the yolk and still brought out normal eggs. Then when my eggs were brought to me they tasted horrible. Grilled cheese was also burnt. Place wasn't even busy. read more

Yes. I only take her to the finest establishments on Thanksgiving morning! How do you manage low carb eating here? Not as difficult as you'd think. While I'm thinking about cheating w/ biscuits & gravy - I do order scrambled eggs smothered in sausage gravy. She picks hash browns & gravy, large milk. Super quick serve - Piping hot - tasty! Ordered breakfast here Monday morning totaling $10 and some change, checked my bank account today to find the cashier added his own tip!

We went here and were refused service. No one spoke to us, took our order, or even explained why we weren't having our order taken. Meanwhile, the table DIRECTLY next to us (they arrived about 10 min AFTER us) had drinks within 2 min!! I asked the server what the problem was and was told that our table wasn't part of her assignment...ummm there were 3 tables in a row...still could have acknowledged us and explained our server would be with us shortly. She just acted like we didn't exist. Oh, and we are African American and everyone inside was Caucasian. Even when our supposed server was free to assist, she was in no rush to assist us. Andrea is the best of the best when it comes to waitresses, no doubt. Hell, my eggs hit the frying pan before I even stepped inside the place, they are just THAT good. After what I herd about this place I decided to check it out. The store was clean. Staff friendly. The place was nothing like what I herd. This place has good service. Friendly staff, good food. The wait time was not bad. The coffee was hot. And the food was made to order. This place is fast great tasting and nice to grab a bite to eat. And they are open 24 hours. It's easy on and out of the parking lot. Right off the interstate. And on the edge of town for the locals. I sat at the counter and had no issues at all. To commence my review, I'd like to mention my take on the bathrooms. Words cannot describe how absolutely wretched and disgusting they were. No amount of bleach or any cleaning products for that matter could save that pitiful restroom. Secondly, the service was as though I have quite literally entered somebody's crib. They seriously managed to put the "house" in "Waffle House". In addition, the food was immaculate. It was so delicious, I could have died. But of course, I would never want to die in a place such as the Waffle House. That would be an extremely depressing way to go out. I believe that a more fitting name for the Waffle House would be the Waffle Hood. It is a much more fitting term for such a place. Opening Day of dear season (gun) and they were busy that morning. Service was fast and the food was good. Cheesy eggs, toast, hash browns covered peppered and capped w city ham. Coffee was kept topped off and a to-go cup was "no problem". I think servers name was Keli and she was smiling and pleasant regardless of the busy pace. I'll be going back soon. read more
