I got the Texas Bacon Egg &Cheese Melt with coffee and OJ. The meal was good. The customer service was good. The credit card machine went down which was a hinder to the rest of the customers and they were low on change which made us wait additional 5mins after 20min of trying to get the credit card system back online.

    Cleanest Waffle House ever. Lol

Nice people. All of em have their teeth and can keep a conversation going-- pretty excited about that- they have 15 meals under 5 dollars- my road trip rules are Cracker Barrel during the day and Waffle House at night. Good location to stop at.

    My steak, lol.

Great food as always, crabby waitress. Don't eat here if don't like being treated poorly.

In my conclusion, the food was yesterday's food. You may ask me how do you know? We arrived at 11:05 to place the order. We got our food at 11:15 which was quick. The chicken was cold. The mac & cheese was semi-warm and my okra was semi warm. You don't get this kind of food if a business opens at 11 AM and you receive your food at 11:15. That's why I am calling it yesterday's food. I wanted to ask so badly for them to just put it in the microwave because I saw it on HGTV and I wanted my food to be really great and I wanted to write a really good review for this business. However, I was highly disappointed. Now I am sure the food is probably hot on Sundays after people getting out of church in the south and all those good things. However, I was disappointed on a Thursday! Highly disappointed! The business is only open 3 hours a day so how could this happen? I am just glad we didn't have to stand in line for an hour and 30 minutes for some cold chicken. And I'll leave it at that!

Now, for the record, I love non-corporate truck stops, and there are still many out there, but they are a dying breed, especially when they feature a mom and pop diner. I've now been here on two separate occasions, and it hasn't disappointed me either time. The place has a kind of late 70s/early 80s charm to it. Tables on tile floor, art painted on wood trimmed walls. Feels comfy and familiar to me. My first go around, was late in the evening, and I was feeling breakfast, so I strolled up to the counter and looked at the menu. I'm a sucker for a good omelette, so I went with the Western omelette, and smothered it and the hash browns both in country gravy, so that's what I ordered. One of the things I love about truck stops is the large portions for a good price, and in today's economy, there's nothing wrong with that. I paid for the omelette, and found a table, and a few minutes later the girl who took my order brought it to me, with an exceptionally large glass of water. I dug into it, and while the egg was a little thin and not quite fluffy enough, it was stuffed with enough peppers, onions, sausage, bacon and cheese to make it filling enough on its own. The toast and hash browns were just a little something extra. But I ate every bite on that plate. That gravy was worth the extra cost and tied the whole thing together nicely. I was sated, and perhaps a little food drunk when I left. Today, I tried the Chili Cheese fries. Again, I paid at the counter and again they brought it to me, with that large glass of water accompanying it. The chili was obviously homemade and was of the beef variety without a bean to be found, there was plenty of cheese on it, and onions too! (Which I added to it.) it also was delicious and well portioned. Both times here, the service was friendly and great, and I left feeling full. Absolutely no complaints about this place. And since it's on my work route, I'm sure I'll be there again to try other things.

Liz came by the table to say hi to my mother in law and to meet us all. I started my meal with a spicy Bloody Mary and then had the Seafood Scramble with Spicy Hollandaise and a side of Cheesy Grits. The scramble had a good amount of eggs and seafood and the sauce had a nice level of seasoning. I would've loved to have the biscuit that came but I saved it for my son since he can eat gluten. That biscuit looked soft and fluffy. I loved my egg dish. My son had a Cheeseburger with Sweet Potato Fries and my brother in law had the Grilled Cheese and Crab Sandwich. They both looked great and apparently were delicious. The Shrimp and Grits and Debris Eggs Benedict were awesome too. We will definitely be back on our next trip if not another day this week.

We had excellent service and Liz herself dropped by and welcomed us. All were very good and our iced tea glasses were never allowed to be empty. We were seated immediately, but business is brisk and you may need to be prepared to wait at peak times. We look forward to returning!
