4 stars because it is too expensive based on the quantity given. The salad was made well, sandwich was made well but could have more meat. Service was a 5. Place was clean. Good food terrible service. I alerted two people at the counter that there were no tables for a family of three to sit that were clean. Both employees brushed it off. One of the same employees brings our food and I inform him he could serve us our food because I used my Clorox wipes to wipe the table down. It should be noted the napkin dispense was particularly dirty, I didn't share that with him, he didn't seem interested. He didn't even respond. My husband had to go back up to the counter because they didn't give us the chip with our order. Update: I know the table was dirty because although there were no plates or glasses the water rings from the cups and some Cribs remained. read more

Tonight we made a to go order from Hattiesburg west McAlisters. I called to inform the manager of the messed up order with the missing items. Southwest Salad with avocado missing the avocado. No avacado means not ordering the salad. The manager stated they are out of avocado. This was not shared with us in the telephone order. Also requested were extra lemon in a tea 1/2 and 1/2. No lemons, tea was unsweetened. the Baked Potato was burnt so only half eatable. This restaurant is notoriously out of something needed to fix an order. We will never be returning to this restaurant done you are the worse restaurant in town. I will be sharing this to anyone who will listen. F rating. read more

The Mac n cheese is watery AF, and not worth the money. Staff is friendly but maybe don't talk about tips when you have a customer that could leave a tip and act like you care just a little, goes a long way. Appreciate those who were friendly and professional. read more

McAlister's is your standard deli with tons of sandwiches, salads, and spuds to choose. I like that they have the "choose two" deal where you get to pick two halves of a salad, spud, or sandwich. Unfortunately, they still weren't enough and I left hungry (and I'm really a light eater anyways). I guess it's cause you don't get sides with it. The veggie chili spud was pretty tasty, nothing too great though. I think next time I'd try the cheese spud. The half a spud is really one potato and the whole spud is two put together. And the half a tuna sandwich I got was so small, probably why I was still wanting more. It was fresh and yummy, but nothing more than I could've made at home for a fraction of the cost. Overall, the bill came to a whopping $10 with an oversize huge lemonade to join the meal. I ended up sharing it with 2 of my friends it was so huge. Huge drink, small sandwich - what's the deal? Anyways, these are all complaints for the corporation ... this particular location had great friendly staff and it was nice enough to eat in, plenty of seating. Last time I went here, my order was wrong, the staff was playing around, and my food sat for about 10 minutes before they even told me it was ready. To top it off, the girl upfront spent the entire time talking bad about a customer who appeared to have misunderstood her. It was awful experience. Ordered to go. Half the order was terrible. I ordered the roast beef spud, got a roast beef club. The salad was anything but fresh. The food has always been great for me. However the past couple of times that I've been the waiting staff has been very inept. They don't notice food orders right in front of them and are very slow to take orders compared to many other similar restaurants. It took them over 10 minutes after our order had been completed to actually get to us and that was only after we mentioned to two different staff members. Apparently, their to-go boxes are camouflaged to where they consistently overlook those orders. read more

I do not recommend getting an "online" or "to-go" order from this McAlister's. They have 2 to 3 "TO-GO" designated parking spots; however, the past three times I have been there to pick up my order, all the spots are filled, yet once inside NO ONE is waiting for their to-go order. They have little to NO parking anyways and, therefore, you are forced to walk a block from the nearest designated parking area just to get your to-go order. Further, when you alert the McAlister's staff that there is obviously abuse by people who are dinning in and using the to-go parking spots they just brush it off and very impassively say "I'm sorry." Sorry McAlister's on Hardy Street, you just lost a customer! read more
