And yet another watery cheesesteak. I swear that they keep the meat in water that's warm until it's ready to cook and then throw it on the grill and partially warm it up. I cannot wait until Jersey Mike's opens up in pedal. Lenny's has got to be the worst cheesesteak that I've had in a very long time. One time the cheese was stuck to the wrapper and I had absolutely no cheese on my cheesesteak and yet they didn't even care. I contacted management and they basically told me to just suck it up. I went back-and-forth email after email with management until I finally just gave up. They do not care and will not care until they start losing business. Once they start losing business then they will care but it will be too late. I've given them multiple chances and that was it. really annoyed by the menu change. salads are $12 and full of greens. the lady that made my salad touched every door handle with the same gloves she shaved the meat with and made my salad with those gloves. i dont know if it's the ranch or the salad but something is old. i cant even eat it. I visited here for lunch a couple of weeks ago. This chain has a good reputation for their subs and after my visit, I agree. I ordered the A1 Philly Cheesesteak sub which is a cheesesteak sub infused with A1 sauce. It was a good sub and I particularly liked the bread. It was very fresh. The addition of the A1 sauce into the meat did add to the overall good taste but only in a minor way in my opinion. I also had a bag of their house branded potato chips and enjoyed them too. We visited Hattiesburg today (Saturday) for the afternoon and got to town around lunchtime. We had some criteria for lunch: We had our dog with us so we were looking for something that we could eat in the car (he would make a fool of himself if we tried to eat on the patio of a restaurant), we didn't want to spend a ton, we wanted something local, and we didn't want fast food. We decided on Lenny's (technically fast food, but not typical fast food to us). Before ordering via their drive-thru I ran in to use their restroom. We got there around noon and they were packed inside! A great sign =) Our food experience: I am a super adventurous sandwich eater (sarcasm) so I got the small turkey sandwhich (I think it was called the Turkey Mile High or something along those lines) on white with just mayo and cheese and added bacon. I got chips to go with my sandwich. My husband got the medium size chicken salad sandwich on white. Our sandwiches were good! The bread was very good and it wasn't super hard like Jimmy Johns but it wasn't crumbling like Subway's does. There was plenty of turkey, and the bacon was nice and thick, not the precooked kind Subway uses. The chips (plain) were good, similar in taste to Lay's. We were happy with our lunch. Food was good, prices were reasonable, convenient drive-thru, pleasant employee, and fresh tasting food. Also, they have a vast menu selection. Just learned about Lenny's about 2 years ago through cousin-in-law. Didn't know what I was missing. The Philly cheesesteak poboy with hot relish on the side as a condiment is very good. They are very consistent and the staff is nice. The meatball sub is ok but that's just my opinion. Steak blows subway out of the water. The cookies are also good. The only reason i give it 4 stars instead of five is because I haven't tried a lot of the menu. The Philly cheese steak gets 5 stars but the meatball gets 3/12 stars. The employees at this location are really nice. They have a bomb buffalo chicken sandwich! This is an older location so its not pristine but its pretty clean. The bathrooms are decent. A group of church elders left a whole table a complete mess with napkins, trash, chips and lettuce everywhere. Between the four of them they had managed to trash the three tables that were pushed together. They of course did not leave a tip for the young guy cleaning up after them so we told him that we were sorry that some people are like that and left him some extra money. I stopped here with a friend on a recent trip to Dunn's Falls. We actually stopped for the Starbucks next door and realized that we were famished. The store was clean, the employees were friendly and the food was better than other chains (i.e. Subway). Great service. I think the food quality and flavor is better than Jimmy John's down the street. JJ is just to mayo for me and their french bread is an act of Congress to bite into. But I prefer the bread and choices at Lenny's. I got the Philly cheese steak and hot relish on the side but I accidentally added to much hot relish on one part of my sandwich lol its not too spicy though just that vinegar'y spicy. Food was cooked fast and brought out but I was the only one dining in there on a Saturday - most people got to'go. This Lenny's does not compare with other Lenny's that I have been to. I ordered a veggie without tomato and lettuce. I said everything else. Well I guess everything else was just pickles and onions. Usually I get pepperchinis, cucumbers, and olives. My husband's sandwich was the same way. Very limited ingredients.
