First of all, I am a big Waffle House fan and rarely do I have a bad experience. The one on NE Evangeline in Lafayette clearly has a training issue. I'm not sure who my assigned waitress was. One took my order and brought me drinks then worked the other side of the restaurant for a while. As I watched my food cook, the hash browns were done first and then sat for about 5 minutes until the eggs were done. Some other waitress refilled my coffee while the food sat. Eventually the toast was added and then the plate sat. As I finished my second coffee watching my food sit, I made eye contact with the original waitress she decided to grab the plate and bring it to me. If I had to guess, the hash browns came off the griddle 12-13 minutes ago and the eggs probably 6-7 minutes ago. The eggs were cooled off in my first bite. I tasted an egg shell. A third waitress continually came over and apologized and checked on me. She brought me my bill. I won't stop coming to Waffle House's, but I really hope this one figures out what they're doing wrong. read more

If you can believe it, this is my very first time in a waffle house! And let me tell you things people have said positively about this place is true. They have a really good coffee for one. And they have a wide variety of meals for breakfast lunch and dinner. You can even get a T-bone steak for breakfast if you want! We were greeted pleasantly when we walked in the door and sat down and were served by an excellent waitress named "Dez". We chose the scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, bacon and toast along with the waffle and scrambled eggs. All of our breakfast came out quickly and were cooked perfectly. After being told i would be charged for plastic forks i just decided to leave and go to another location....Employee really tried to charge me for wanting plastic forks instead of silver spoons lol stated "she been doing this for 5 years" well i i been eating at waffle houses for more than 5 years never in my life was charged for plastic fork read more

Yeah, so all my buddies in LA and OC like to talk about Rosco's Chicken and Waffle. Whatervers. Louisiana has a Waffle House in every city/parish. Chicken and Waffles is on every menu. The worst WH I have ever been in. Absolutely filthy & had to pick the least disgusting booth I could find, all while 5 employees stood and did nothing, and I was the only customer in the place. Will never visit this location again, and would advise you to avoid it also. read more

Pros: -Food was good. Not anything to write home about, but good. -The place was moderately clean. Cons: -Waited ten minutes for our existence to be acknowledged. -Food was ready before drinks hit the table (and that's not a good thing because the food took a ridiculous amount of time). -Kids food came last. -I watched one employee sit on her phone instead of getting our drinks (how hard is it to get someone a darn soda!?). -When I requested syrup for my child's waffles the waitress didn't even respond with words, just gave us a discontented look and grabbed a slimy bottle of syrup. Summary: Look, I know it's a Waffle House. I'm not expecting anything spectacular. But the service was horrid at best and while the food wasn't bad, it certainly didn't make up for that. read more

I generally don't write reviews for chain places, but I thought this one was worth mentioning. Husband and I were traveling through and we haven't eaten at a Waffle House in about 3 years. It's hard to eat healthy on the road, so this was somewhat out of our normal go-to place. The food is great if you like the average greasy spoon type deal. My eggs and hash-browns were deliciously greased in oil to perfection and my waffle came out crispy. Don't order the un-sweet tea, you'll regret it. The best part; we forgot our car keys on the table and the waitress ran outside to deliver it. Then unfortunately, my husband unknowingly dropped his credit card in the parking lot and the manager was kind enough to track us down and give us a call. In sum, the people working here are honest and trustworthy southern folks and that in itself is worth mentioning. read more

BLUF: I love diners. This has all the staples plus that ability add extras to hashbrowns! This is your standard Waffle House. Food was good and perfect for a hangover. Iffy on the stomach but could have been the drinks the night before. Staff was nice and food was quick. Coffee was good (I thought it was hard to get good coffee in Lafayette so this was the best we had all weekend). I got the breakfast sandwich with american cheese and it was really good. i got gravy added to the hashbrowns and it was the best decision of my life. really good. read more

Not a big Waffle House fan but this was close to our motel so proximity won over classier fare. Waiter was very attentive and pleasant. We each ordered waffles and crispy bacon. Waffles looked and tasted great. Bacon went back to the surly cook 4 times to finish cooking. Final try we had them burn it. Think we'll try IHOP next time. read more

I obviously don't expect too much other than delicious pancakes and good breakfast/late dinner. Our waiter was very attentive and nice. The food was ok but it seems that they don't clean their grill too often because my meal had pieces of burnt stuff all over. There were around 6 people working and not too many customers when we first came in and the place wasn't clean, they had dirty rags by the cooking area and some napkins on the floor. In the parking lot, right by the main door there was vomit (very visible) and the employees seemed to know and not care. Other than the mess, the employees were nice and the food just ok. My waitress Peaches never once asked me if I needed anything, she took forever to bring my coffee, placed my bill on the table before I even got my entire meal, as I had to wait forever for my waffle. By the time the waffle came, I was ready to go. Sugar shakers don't work, asked several times for sugar packets, given sweet n low packets instead. Omg! Can't get over how mind blown I was. First of all Erika provided some of the best service I've ever encountered. She brought me these crazy crispy pancakes with holes in them filled with pecans and buttery goodness. I had high expectations going in, but my mind wasn't ready for the cosmic explosion awaiting my taste buds. I absolutely enjoyed myself here last night for a late supper. My waitress, Carissa, was phenomenal in her manners and service to me and my wife. Everything was in order and flowed perfectly, even near the end our meal. Before we knew it, we had to go drinks waiting. This restaurant was great and the waitress was excellent. Waitress trainer was rude, lipstick on my cup, they were calling out my waffle and bacon and the new waitress just stood there...no one ever checked on me !!! What a miserable place this has become! 7 employees on staff and everyone of them appear to want to be somewhere else. I was greeted with out so much as a good morning, hello or a smile. Vinny (yes that was HER name), for such a big girl she spoke with such a soft voice that she could not be heard over the noise of the restaurant, exhaust fans, Pots and pans and the loud hip-hop music playing in the background. After several attempts at communicating my order to Vinny, she seem to have it down and went about her business. I ordered one egg (over medium). one slice of wheat toast (dry), a side of grits with a cup of coffee. What I got was 1 egg (although over medium) was browned on one side, white toast heavily buttered, what appeared to be a bowl of grits but looked more like a thick, solid white mass of starch and a cup of warm coffee. I travel through Lafayette often and have stopped here several times before, this is by far my worst experience. read more
