The Toasted Yolk in Lafayette was such a pleasant experience from start to finish. I went with my family which included my 102 year old grandmother and my 92 year old great aunt who are both very opinionated and picky when it comes to their food. Upon entry we were warmly greeted by the host who kindly held my grandmother's walker behind the hostess stand. I truly appreciated that as they were very accommodating to her needs. We sat in either Jolie or Joelle's section. I forgot her exact name but she was incredibly kind and patient in answering all of our questions about the menu. My great aunt had seen the restaurant on the news and was very excited to try the staple item which was the Toasted Yolk, basically eggs in a basket. She ordered that and I ordered two pancakes for the table. Those pancakes could have easily fed the entire restaurant. I kept seeing them come out to other tables and noticed many people could not finish theirs. I see why. With a table of four we still took a lot home. We added blueberries to ours which took them to another level. For my entree I shared with my grandmother. We ordered the Eiffel Tower Omelette and built our own combination along with grits and a biscuit. Both were very delicious but the pancakes stole the show. The mimosa offerings were plentiful with different flavors to choose from. I had the strawberry one and it was delicious. I would definitely return. The best part was after I dropped my great aunt off my cousin called to tell me she talked for thirty minutes straight about how good the food was. That is a five star review in itself.

This is a nice option for brunch. I went on a Saturday afternoon and was able to sit immediately, but they do close at 3. The food came fast, they serve breakfast and lunch the entire time. The junkyard fries appetizer was good, I especially liked the chili. Another honorable mention to the hashbrown casserole. I would like to go back to try some of their cocktails! They also have a nice loyalty program available.

This was our first time at the Toasted Yolk and I thought it was pretty good. I got the southern fried Arnold with a poached egg. It was pretty tasty and interesting. I love eggs Benedict so I was a little skeptical to taste this take on it, but I was pleasantly surprised. Just make sure you're hungry when you go because the portions are large. The service was very prompt and friendly. We will given blueberry donuts to celebrate our first visit and they were very yummy. I can't wait to go back and try more things.

The food was really good. The brisket is Smokey and makes for a great omelet. The cheese grits were excellent and not too grainy. Instead of the country gravy on the eggs Benedict, we choose to get the Cholula Ranch instead.... Oooo it was so tasty. I could drink that ranch! The coffee was strong like we like it. The greeters at the front door weren't too welcoming but other than that our waitress was nice and attentive and refilled our coffee regularly. The restrooms are a little tight but they were clean and everything was stocked. We arrived at 9:42AM and were seated quickly. All in all it was a good experience and we will be back.

First time trying toasted yolk and it was amazing! The food was very flavorful and filling. Our server was very attentive and did a great job at refilling our drinks. Would definitely recommend.

I had no idea there was a new brunch restaurant that opened. Firstly this is a great location with plenty of parking, and open seating arrangements, tables, booths, and high tops. We arrived and were seated quickly, it was busy however you could tell it's newer and they're working out the timing. I liked the upbeat vibe. For the meal the soup and sandwich was ok, tuna needed more flavor, but the 4 egg omelette was very good, however the hands down star was the Pancakes!!! Which was the size of the plate, and they were actually fluffy and a great vanilla flavor that stood out, now I know why a serving is only two, I could only eat one. Try the two eggs with cake which is the pancake, and I'm sure this will be very filling, with good value.

The breakfast burrito is the star and it's not close. They put broccoli and squash in it. Sounds insane, shouldn't work, but it's one of the best breakfast burritos I've had in my entire life. Get the extra crispy bacon in it. Everything was texturally perfect and they've got this fermented hot sauce that goes with it. Not spicy, just adds a whole extra layer of flavor. A 10 out of 10. The coffee was the letdown. We did a few rounds (cortado, latte, cappuccino) and they came out inconsistent, milk to coffee ratio all over the place. Felt like whoever was making them didn't really know the difference between the drinks. If I'm dinging them on anything, it's that. My wife got one of those big healthy veggie bowls and it was pretty mediocre. Just lacked flavor. If super healthy is what you're after you'll be happy, but hers was a 3 and my burrito was a 10, so I ended up handing her half of mine. That's the deal here, it depends what you order. The veggie and vegan stuff is never going to hit like the real thing, but there's a ton of good options if you care about that. We also grabbed a bunch of their canned goods on the way out. Pesto, that hot sauce, radish kimchi, sweet potato kimchi. They make it all in house and you can tell there's a real passion for creating and doing new things. Super happy we found this one. Highly recommend, especially that burrito.

The interior of this location was very nice and welcoming. There was a good mix of seating options that seemed accommodating for both larger groups and smaller parties. The music selection was also enjoyable and added positively to the overall atmosphere. I ordered the shrimp and andouille omelette. I will say the presentation was very stark and uninteresting. Just based on how it looked, I would not have expected much from the dish. While I cannot quite pinpoint how it could be improved visually, it simply came across as boring on the plate. That said, the omelette itself was better than expected once I started eating. The bites that included both shrimp and andouille sausage were the strongest and most flavorful parts of the dish. Overall, if I were judging strictly on appearance, my expectations would have been low. Taste wise, I would give the meal about a 6 out of 10. I did notice several other dishes coming out to nearby tables that looked more appealing, so while this order did not fully impress me, I would not rule out returning. Next time, I would likely try something different from the menu.

The pork chop was cooked perfectly. It was juicy, incredibly tender, and honestly tender enough to cut with a fork. It had a great char from the grill that added so much flavor, and the pickled peppers on top cut through the richness of the pork perfectly. The dirty rice underneath reminded me of my mom's rice dressing and soaked up all the juices from the chop. It was one of the best pork chop dishes I've had. My wife ordered the smoke fried chicken, and it was also excellent. The crust was crispy while the chicken stayed juicy and flavorful. The sweet potato biscuits were light and delicious, and the pepper honey tied everything together nicely. For my taste, it leaned just a little on the sweet side, but it was still a very enjoyable dish. My daughter ordered the Social Cheeseburger with just meat and cheese. She loved it, and I was impressed too. Even with such a simple order, the burger was juicy, well seasoned, and served on a fantastic bun. She and my wife both could not stop talking about the hand cut fries. They were crispy, perfectly seasoned, and some of the best fries we've had in a while. The basil mayo was not a good match, I think regular mayo would have complemented the burger much better. I also asked to leave off the pickles and red onion. I added an over-hard egg, which was cooked perfectly. On the side, I ordered the yogurt, but unfortunately, I couldn't eat it. It tasted like spoiled sour cream, so that was definitely a disappointment. The atmosphere was nice and welcoming, although the seating area felt a little too cramped. It wasn't clear where those orders should be picked up. I ended up standing by the cooler, which put me in the walkway of food being delivered and the cooler for beverages. I was also concerned about the food handling. The employee bringing out food and drinks kept playing with her hair because it was constantly falling in her face, then continued handling customers' orders. The person making the coffee also had her hair down. In my opinion, anyone preparing or serving food should have their hair secured and wear gloves when appropriate.
