More to this point, our table was given a thorough towel cleaning since there were a few water droplets visible. Our menus, silverware, and napkins were placed on our table with coffee service soon thereafter. Great coffee! We ordered southern pecan pancakes and a pecan waffle. Hubby said his pancakes were hot, fluffy and tasty. My waffle was crispy but did not contain many pecans. We shared crispy hash browns. Any knock would be no Tabasco!!?!?!? I was treated to an afternoon breakfast at this Huddle House. We ended up getting the stuffed omelettes with grits and homemade biscuits. The stuffed omelets were really good and the biscuits were delicious. The grits on the other hand were okay but just way too much butter for me. As for the service it was outstanding. read more

I loved the fact that they have a huge selection to chose from whether you want breakfast, lunch or dinner they have it all. I always wanted to try this place since I am not a big waffle house fan and I heard it was better. We were greeted as soon as we walked in by the friendly employees. The menu is pretty extensive because it took me a while to choose. Relatively fast service but I did have to mention to the waiter that some of my order was missing as well as my dates. Four words: Huddle House is awesome. I ate with two of my friends and the experience as a whole was exemplary. Albeit, it is a chain breakfast restaurant - but despite this, the food was still above average. Our entreés arrived at the table quickly, hot, presented well, and AT THE SAME TIME (something often overlooked at breakfast quick-service). What I most appreciated was the service. Our waiter, "Mr. Marshal", was extremely friendly. He had my friends and I laughing, chatting, and all-around having a blast in no time. He seemed to lighten the mood for both the customers and those he worked with. Go to Huddle House - you will immediately be able to tell which worker he is. Poor service at the on the I 49 on the way to Opelousas! They didn't even acknowledge that we were there when we walked in. So we just went and sat down at a table. And for the next 25 minutes I thought we were invisible. Other customers had to tell the waitress about us. The girl took her time cleaning tables off. Look like she didn't even want to work! Then the asst manager finally came over we ordered coffee. She brought it, we ordered our food. We told her everything we wanted but she had to keep going back, she was forgetting stuff. Then it looked like she was the only one working! She was all over the place! I believe she is over worked cause with all the others waitresses there . Are very lazy. And impolite! The worst ever service ever! My husbands food was not cooked as he requested! So he didn't eat it! All we got was two cards for a $ 4.99 Breakfast! Which I threw away. Still no food so I asked for a mgr where is our food it's too bad I was stuck on the lunch bench seat and the 2 guys table was so close . I didn't want to make scene and disrupt their eating . I told that mgr loud enough , but in a firm but not ugly way! " how come all this people that were seated after us got their food?" So she ran to kitchen and the Waiter came an told us our food would be ready soon! Oh My God! Not again! Now it was almost 12 noon! The two guys were still sitting taking their time eating . I think it's to watch was going to happen next! I am a diabetic and I have to eat! When I have to eat! I told that mgr that too. I am disable also! I was not looking for any special treatment, just looking for our food! My husband was not as patient as me! He stood up and in a loud voice wanted to know where our food was! I really had to take over this situation. Our food finally showed up! We are in disgust, on already upset! So when we were done , two still sitting drinking coffee! I told the guy in the pink shirt that was seating people, that "will the house pay for our breakfast, he I ask the House . I said you do that! The waiter came over and asked if we wanted our check . I said yes and bring a mgr too. Check came and mgr too! She was very nice. I told her because we were treated poorly. She said what would like to do! I said . I tell what I'm not going to do is pay this check! She said I will take care of it! I said thank you! And the two guys got up and left finally! And a few other tables all said to us! Just a new mom trying to get a decent breakfast. I accidentally called in an order from the wrong location, when i realized my mistake i called to correct it. The first person i talked with was nice but then i received a call back from some rude guy telling me different from what i was previously told. How in the world does this place have 5 stars? We popped in here one day around 1 pm. It was after the lunch rush and there were only a couple of tables of people in. It was only my husband and me in our party. We ordered the loaded tots for an appetizer. Everyone knows that it's common that what comes to the table or is served over the counter never looks like the advertisement; but this was ridiculous! I kept it simple and ordered a bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions and a side of fries and my husband had something off the breakfast menu (eggs, bacon, hash browns and pancakes). On my burger, the bacon was a barely cooked, greasy, floppy slab of fat and the onions were raw and not grilled. The shift manager was serving tables and cashing out and executing dishes all at the same time. Being a restaurant that has the kitchen behind the counter, we were able to see all the activity going on in there. I happened to look up just at the time that our server who was also the shift manager was grabbing our plates to deliver to our table, but, not before using his bare hands to put the top bun onto my burger; only after collecting the previous guest's money at the register. Did he wash his hands between duties? NO! Am I the only person who cares about having my food touched in this manner? I have a lump in my throat just typing this! My husband's food was a mess too. Floppy bacon, mushy hash browns, and nasty pancakes! With all of the options for breakfast in the Lafayette and surrounding area, Huddle House in Scott will never be my choice again. Do yourself a favor and go to Another Broken Egg or even IHOP if you like food chains! Place went to shit we order there on occasion they used to be really good so for my bday my husband got me breakfast they charged full price for half an omelet like seriously picture is enclosed meat was dried out and burnt I over cooked severely and freezer burnt so bad the grits were so disgusting they put a layer of vegetable oil not butter on microwave mushy grits Cajun s was opened and we pulled in I was crying because huddle house served me shit for my birthday my husband picked it up and told them he wanted to bring his wife breakfast to make it extra special and left a 5 tip for no service just cause he was excited to bring me breakfast in bed and these motherfuckers ruined my whole day literally serving shit our dog that eats shot wouldn't even eat it and choked on the steak. Cajuns is .32 miles from huddle house not only was my omelet a whole omelet but she topped it with all my favorite breakfast side and the best home made biscuits we took a dozen home she didn't charge for mine cause huddle house had ruined my day she wanted to make it special again she totally made my day that has been tragedy my whole life the first birthday happy I recommend Cajuns for cheaper prices and fresh cooked food u can't beat it it's like going to moms read more

Mr. Marshall was rude from the minute we walked in the door. Our baby was in a stroller & he acted like it was an issue. Multiple times, he pushed the stroller. He asked if we needed a high chair & we said no, due to the fact that every time we go, the high chairs are broken. We even asked him if the high chairs were fixed & he just stared at us with a blank face. Any time we'd go to ask him something, he acted as if we were bothering him & he had more important things to do. When we finished eating, we waited 30 minutes for him to actually come to our table to give us our check. We actually had to go find him in order to get our check. As we were leaving, he literally made us sit back down basically so HE would have room to walk. I just believe that it's common courtesy to let your customer pass before you do. But that's just me.
