Rough around the edges, but one of my favorite places to come back to in Lancaster, PA. It's amazing how this place is always the same. Although a chain and not the best chain it always delivers and the best spot at 1 am

I'm not a sweet breakfast person, so I opted for a bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit sandwich with a side of hashbrowns. The sandwich was okay, but I felt that the hashbrowns were a bit undercooked. Service was friendly and attentive. 2/5.

Menu is different than other Waffle Houses. All the usual though.

Spotless bathroom, excellent service, the coffee flows and the pecan waffle was delicious. I usually get the same thing at WH: pecan waffle, bacon, coffee. This was a very friendly team at this WH. We don't have these in NY so I wanted to come. This menu looked a bit different from the ones in Florida. I think it costs less! Very fresh and tasty. All you would expect and counter service gives you a free show of expert timing and teamwork.

Who doesn't love Waffle House? You have to admire it for its tasty simplicity and dedication (open 24 hours). Sure, the booths are worn, and the grills look like they've been operating 24 hours nonstop (they have), but the staff is always friendly, the coffee is always hot, and the food is always made to order. My young son and I can eat here, with a TON of food, for under $20. My favorite? The carbs upon carbs in one meal. Mmm. This particular location is my local one, and the staff has always been very good to my son and me. He has a Waffle House paper hat, and they even gifted him a visor. He felt so special. We love having mommy and son lunch or dinner dates here!

Not sure how this happened, but I'm now a fan of Waffle House. Stumbled in at midnight on Halloween- it was loud, busy, full of obnoxious/intoxicated people in costume. If I were the cook, I'd have quit; If I were waiting tables, I'd have smacked someone. But instead, the staff delivered unbelievably yummy food- hot, fresh, & with a 1/2 smile. Ordered hash browns "all the way." Still dreaming about them. The texture was amazing and the cheese/chili/onions/gravy/jalapeños etc. sounds like it'd be too much. It was too much of a good thing, as I stuffed a double portion down my throat in record time. Had Pecan Waffle- it was a delight! Big, fluffy, with crumbled pecans over top. The food was served piping hot! I know fancy establishments that can't get that part right. Once in awhile u stumble across something where ur expectations are so low ur thrown back when it ends up delighting u. This was that. The menu is small, the surroundings a step below a diner, and the food nothing fancy, but I had a great meal, at a good price, at an hour when no one else was serving.

Pros Great location Spacious Parking Lot Quick Food Service Fantastic tasting food once cooked properly Cons Dirty Restaurant (Dead bugs in corner of table, moth my size flying around, filthy floor in seating area, liquid splattered on wall, etc.) Waitress High as Hell, Forgetful and Rude. She was high high! Nodded twice !! Oh wait, let me share this highlight... My improperly made food came out on the appropriate sized plate. Once my food imperfection had to be fixed, she brought back Sandwich w/o condiment on a smaller plate. Sandwich was falling everywhere once I bit it. Once correction made w remaining item (hash browns), she brought them out overflowing on a small plate. I asked for 1 larger plate to combine food items and she told me to wait a second because she needed to figure out why I was asking. Baby Jesus Be the Fence !! That's only 1 of 3 stories I got!! I will never ever ever ever return!!

Our server was great, very nice and courteous and attentive. She was probably the highlight of this experience. The bathroom floor was extremely sticky that I could hear each footstep I made, felt like I was stepping on a fly trap. As for the food, this was the weakest steak I've ever encountered from Waffle House. Both in side and flavor, or lack there if I should say. Unfortunately the hash browns weren't evenly cooked through. The hash browns were supposed to be scattered yet the top was like a burnt sheet of hash downs with a soggy inside. The waffles were also inconsistent being that some were dark brown and others were light yellow. The eggs were the star of the meal. I must say they got that part right. Ultimately it wasn't the worst Waffle House experience and the waitress and staff overall were so nice that I can't fail to mention them. But the chefs definitely need to tighten up.

As far as Waffle Houses go, this is a pretty good one. We visited on a Sunday around noon. Waited only a couple minutes for a table to be bussed. Booths are on the small side but that's pretty standard for the chain. Menu is limited and basic but the food is decent and fast. No french fries for kids, but our son discovered that hash browns are an acceptable replacement. Chocolate and peanut butter chips are sprinkled on top of the waffles, not cooked inside. Still the same flavor though so not a big deal. Bathrooms were surprisingly clean. Not spotless but we've seen worse at higher rated establishments.

Biscuits and gravy were super on point!

When you enter this place its at ground level and immediately you recognize you need to take the stairs up. Once you usher yourself up it opens up to two areas where you wait to be seated. The place is an older vintage like gastropub where the front is one bar and some seating, but on the backside is more open seating with where the band and another bar are situated. This place isn't meant to be for large groups, but could possibly accommodate groups of 6. The main bar which also next to the kitchen is an older vintage style bar and whisky's is nothing special but once you sit down and hear the music you settle in nicely. Service has always been courteous and prompt and the menu looks like there are a good assortment of choices. The two times I've been here I've ordered the mussels which includes great sauce and spread with seasoned ground meet. Was so yummy! The second time I came I tried the CHICKEN FRICASSEE. Man was that great! It includes 4 pieces of bread, chicken and the mushroom sauce. So good! Both times I had some of their assortment of single scoop ice-cream which in this area, something about the milk from their amish cows is so creamy. All that said, this is one of my fav places to come enjoy a glass of wine and food. Oh and Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday's they have some instrumental band playing too.

Another very overdue review (kindergarten teacher life! ), but this one is especially special…read morebecause Bert and the Elephant became part of our wedding story long before our wedding day. About a year before our wedding, my husband and I were exploring Lancaster as a potential wedding location. While walking down the street, I spotted a giant pink elephant. For those who don't know me, Delirium is my all-time favorite beer, and its logo is a pink elephant, so of course, it immediately caught my attention. When we walked inside, and I realized it was a Belgian beer bar and restaurant, I was absolutely ecstatic. Bert, the owner, noticed how excited we were, and we started talking. Bert is incredible! He is so knowledgeable about all of his different beers and cares about every single detail. He even has a different glass for almost every beer because, to him, the details matter. But what really stood out was how he treats people. Bert makes you feel like family. Before we left that day, he even gifted me a little ceramic pink elephant straight from his decor. I was absolutely giddy, and I still have that little elephant proudly displayed in my home today. I knew right then and there that we had to have our after-party at Bert and the Elephant. And we did! We were able to rent out the entire place for two hours after our wedding. We had an open bar for the first hour and delicious finger foods for a late-night snack. I'm sure you're thinking, "That must have been insanely expensive," but it wasn't! And it was the perfect location, right down the street from our hotel, so everyone could walk there easily. Our wedding day fell during a heatwave, and unfortunately, the heat definitely affected how many people could make it to the after-party. Everyone was exhausted from the day, but Bert and his staff still made sure that everyone who came had an amazing time. They were welcoming and attentive, making the night feel so special. Bert and the Elephant turned out to be the perfect way to end our wedding night. What started as a random pink elephant catching my eye on a walk through Lancaster turned into one of my favorite wedding memories. We are so grateful to Bert and his staff for helping us end the night with great drinks, delicious food, and even better memories.
