I was in town recently and found this place on yelp as it was close to my hotel. The interior is a classic Irish pub. Ware it was a beautiful night we went and sat in the outdoor patio. There was quite a crowd at the bar, which I think may have been attributed to happy hour as it seemed to clear out about halfway through our dinner. We had the Irish soda bread and in order of chips for a starter. The soda bread was served with butter and jam. It was pretty good. The chips appeared to be hand, cut, and well fried. They had a very good taste of them. They were served with three sauces, two of which were cream based and were pretty tasty. The third was supposed to be a curry sauce, but it was extremely thin and did not have a great deal of flavor. I have the bangers and mash and my wife had a steak. Both were very good. Service was OK but the bartender who poured my second Guinness could probably take a remedial lesson in how to pour a Guinness as it was definitely not a proper pour. All in all if I were in the area again, I would probably come here. read more

Located in downtown Lancaster, a terrific Irish Pub experience with wonderful service. On street parking and a garage nearby. There's a bar area, bar seating with cute dividers between high tops, as well as a dining room area. We found two spots to perch at along the front bar area so didn't have to wait. There was a nice size line for tables so obviously this is a desired place. Immediately upon sitting, we were greeted by the bartender who provided us with water and our drinks very quickly. We only stopped in for a quick bite so just ordered the cheesesteak egg rolls. Boy were they tasty. It comes with a terrific chipotle mayo filling sauce. We also ordered the pretzels and they were super fresh and extremely hot. Overall, very good quality and reasonably priced. You will not wait long at all for your food! The bathroom is downstairs. Not sure if they have an elevator. I am sure they must. The kitchen is also down there and you get to peek through a window at some of the delicious foods coming out. Hearing that Annie Bailey's had a Wednesday wing special, we trekked to Lancaster to take advantage. A $0.75 per wing deal is pretty hard to find. Here they come in orders of five. We tried buffalo and garlic parmesan. We also tried fish and chips, Irish onion soup, oysters and mushy peas. Pints of Yuengling were $3 too. While they don't have many wing flavors, the flavors we tried were solid. The rest of the food was also excellent. read more

Nice Irish pub inside and out. Got seated right away and loved the feel of the place. Our groups' favorite dish was the Fish and Chips. It was cooked to perfection. Loved the Fish and the Cole Slaw finished it off great. The app pretzels were warm and soft and amazing. Loved all of the sauces to dip them in. Would highly recommend getting them. Comes with 4 and good size for an app. My hubby got the Shepherds Pie and he was NOT impressed with it. This was the only reason for not giving this place 5 stars. It was not seasoned enough. 5 stars for Annie Bailey's, mostly because the staff got the assignment when they saw a family with young kids walking through the door. One of those kiddos was melting down rather spectacularly, so much so that I needed to walk him around the outside of the restaurant before joining the rest of the party at the table. But the crisis was largely averted thanks to the staff. They sat us away from the bar at a table with plenty of space, and constantly checked on us to make sure food was coming out quickly enough. While I wasn't a fan of the pretzels, which had a sesame seed, everything bagel-type topping I didn't like, my family loved them for the same reason. The burgers were great though, juicy and done to temperature. With how easy it was to bring the kids, I'd put this high on my list of spots to venture to the next time I'm in Lancaster. read more

Prices were a bit high but in a touristy area so that can be expected. I came here for a private party, and boy, was I happily surprised! I definitely felt as if I was in an Irish pub in Dublin! The Guinness was excellent, and while I did not order anything from the menu, they had a large table set up for the party and all the food was tasty! The ambiance is excellent, it seems old and has lots of character, and there is also an area upstairs that is fun to sit and drink and chat with friends. It's to be expected with the first night with a new menu though. The atmosphere was great and perfect for a pub. We ate inside so we didn't experience the outdoor area but it looked very nice. We love visiting this restaurant whenever we're in my hometown. My boyfriend especially enjoys the fish and chips! I had the toffee French toast, which came with toffee custard, whiskey caramel sauce, sliced bananas, and toffee pieces. It was a delightful sweet treat that felt like dessert before dessert--definitely five stars! I also ordered a side of scrambled eggs and bacon. I had to add a few ingredients to the eggs to suit my taste, but that's just my preference. The Irish coffee was also fantastic! All the times I've been to Annie Baileys over the years, I could've sworn I reviewed it before. All you need to know is that the food is amazing, the drinks are fantastic, the atmosphere is cozy, and the service is consistently awesome. My go-to is usually the chicken curry or Shepard's pie (which is legit), with Brussels to start. Don't skip the Irish soda bread either - it's a treat! The deck out back is perfect for a warm day and the high top tables can make for a surprisingly intimate date spot. But I've had plenty of fun sitting at the bar watching soccer, too. Be sure to call ahead, especially weekends, as they book up quickly. And there's plenty of parking at the garage if you can't find any open street parking. read more

We have enjoyed Annie Bailey's in the past, so tonight we drove nearly an hour with our best couple friends for a dinner of fish and chips. When we got seated, we ordered wine and beer and ONLY THEN were we told, "we are out of fish and chips, out of salmon, and no, we don't do substitutions on anything." WHAT? An Irish pub out of fish and chips--and SALMON? Yep. AND no substitutions. We were told, "But we DO have blackened mahi mahi" as if that's anywhere similar. Needless to say, we left the unopened bottle of wine and walked out. This was NOT the fault of the wait staff--this is ALL proprietorship. If you run out of the most popular items on Sunday afternoon, odds are you should be making more food. We ended up going to The Lancaster Distributing Company and the fish and chips was great, very reasonably priced, and served hot and fast. read more

Returned for the first time in three years and this time we were able to eat outside on the deck. It was oyster fest Saturday, and there were no advance reservations allowed, so it was quite busy. The hostess was not at all friendly and I think this is an important thing for businesses that your first impression is the hostess, and if she doesn't smile and acts like seating you is a hardship, it doesn't give you a great start to your meal . Anyway, we were happy to get a table for 4 because I'm guessing the two people in front of us must've wanted to sit indoors and they were told there was 45 minutes to an hour Wait. But we did get a table right away outside. It had been raining all weekend and our table did not have an umbrella, but we lucked out that we made it through lunch before it started to drizzle. It took a bit before our server came over, but she was friendly. We had a combo of beers and cocktails. They had a bloody Mary bar which two of my friends got, and they could create their own, but they're complaints were that the fixings were outside and uncovered & so it was slightly unsanitary with flies and such, and they would've just much rather kind of had a bartender make them a bloody Mary cause it was a hike to and from the table. Plus there was no ice to keep things cold. Two of us did have a dozen oyster, and the oysters were decent, it would've been nice to know what types of oysters we were getting because there were different types in the selection. It wasn't super warm out but the minimal ice in my tray of oysters melted quite quickly, and therefore my oysters were kind of underwater and mixed with the cocktail sauce and the mignonette. The bangers and mash looked quite tasty and I actually did taste my friend's meal and loved the mashed potatoes as well. We had to flag somebody down to get utensils and catch up and salt and pepper and such. But all in all it was a decent lunch. We were happy to be able to eat outside in between the raindrops. Food was great! Had the chicken Pot pie and was pleased. The bride had the Shepard Pie also very good. Some wings to start that were also good - ambience awesome! So why only 3stars you might ask - service!!! We were left to sit for about 10 minutes before our not engaged server appeared to take our drink order. We ordered drinks and the wings together. When the drinks and wings got there a little wait - we ordered. The food took a bit but was worth the wait Soooo here it is. As we were taking the last few bites the sever came to the table and informed us that we had 10 minutes left on our reservation- WTF! I have never in all my years of dining have been treated so rudely ! I understand they were busy , then step up the game show up immediately communicate early bring food and beverage timely.
