So I walk-in and notice great environment and great customer service and very improper training don't talk loud in front of customer it rude to hear someone talking crazy to there co worker only the supervisor and manger keep there cool while there cooks need some more training and not loving there jobs because as a customer coming in and feel tension and see guideline need to be set in place 1. all the staff need to work together not hush each other 2 organization need to set in place 3. I've been living in America since 2004 and it's taken me 13+ years to finally make it to a Waffle House (there aren't any in California where we live). Now I wish there were Waffle Houses in greater L.A. We spent a long weekend in Little Rock crossing state #47 off my husband's visit list. We decided to start our first full day by eating at a Waffle House, and we picked the one on Rebsamen Park just up the river from our downtown hotel. The prices are dirt cheap and the quality matches the low prices (i.e. very mediocre), but that's all part of the charm, and after spending a measly $23 including tip for breakfast for 2 adults I have no right to complain. We both got pecan waffles and a side of small hash browns. The waffles were thin and dense, but they weren't overly sweet and there was a healthy amount of pecans mixed into the batter. Every bite had a mouthful of nuts. I love how you can customise your own hash browns from a list of ingredients - I got mine with diced ham, jalapeno and mushrooms and my husband got his with diced ham, onions and tomatoes. The potatoes were starchy and the ham was rubbery and salty, but the whole thing had a nice crunch around the edges, and the jalapenos added just enough heat to give it a nice flavour. The service was warm and friendly...we were greeted by every employee who saw us enter, and our server Henry was friendly and courteous, and was great with our baby. read more

We came in after a wonderful birthday party, at 2:30 am. Ok, sure, it was a crazy time of night, but this location is 24-hours, and on this particular Friday night, it was jam-packed with folks already eating. It started off fine, we were given a table, sat down, given menus, and asked for water. Then we sat down and chatted about what we wanted to order. And waited. And waited. ...And waited. After a full half hour, we were brought our waters. I said we were ready to order, but the lady who brought them either didn't hear me or ignored me. We were happy to have our waters, but wanted to order. ....Then we kept waiting. I really don't understand, people all around us got their food, no one else was waiting on orders, and we tried to get the attention of any or all of the six people who were working at the time. We saw multiple tables come in, get food, and leave, but still, nothing for us. Not even so much as a nod. By now, even our waters were empty. Some of us had resorted to chewing on ice. So finally, still completely and totally ignored, we got up and left. Possibly the weirdest part was that literally everyone else in there (aside from the servers) watched us leave, and seemed genuinely confused that we were leaving without and food. But heck with it, and hour wait for one round of waters? Unacceptable. read more

I can't remember the last time I ate at a Waffle House, but, I suspect it was when I was a kid, eons ago. So, when we were headed to LIT, I exclaimed, "We have to go to Waffle House!!", luckily my traveling companion and I are in synch and he said, "Well, of COURSE we do!." What can you say/write about WH that hasn't already been written? Well, we don't have them in NY, so, I make it a point to eat at one when I'm in the south or a state that *does* have them. Maybe it's the appeal of the basic yellow and black sign that draws me in, or, maybe because it's an inexpensive meal, anytime of day, or, maybe it's just that I have a thing for waffles... I had a pecan waffle and and jalapeno hash browns, my friend had plain waffles, plain grits and sausage. Multiple cups of coffee were consumed by the two of us as well. It's pretty basic, but, that's what I like. Our waitress couldn't have been nicer. (Living in NYC, I really miss how nice/pleasant/friendly folks are whenever I leave the city. No, that's not a stereotype of either locale, it's just what I've experienced). I wanted to buy a coffee mug, but they only sell them online. I suspect if I lived in Little Rock, I'd be here often and a member of The Regulars Club. I also suspect that I'd be doing a lot of running/walking to burn off those waffle calories, which would be totally worth it. read more

Next thing you know we had a chocolate waffle for an appetizer . It was ok. But I wouldn't recommend . Katrina "chocolate face" said grill cheese was delightful . Eggs , biscuits , and gravy were all great for late night. Order grits with cheese. Damn good. Waffle House isn't worthy a a 5 star diner because its understaffed and overworked. I could not believe it when my husband pulled into the Waffle House parking lot this a.m. but it's been many years since I'd last been disappointed by a visit to Waffle House so I went along with it. We sat down in a restaurant that had, maybe 5 other people in it. We sat there for 9 minutes. No one ever even acknowledged us. We got up and left and went to a different restaurant where they greeted us as soon as we pulled the door open and we had our food on the table in close to 9 minutes. Sorry but I cannot recommend a place that is filthy, no employees around at 4 am, homeless and drunks asleep at the booths and you can't get waited on at all. I have had issues with the cleanliness of this place before, and the slow service sometimes, but fortunately I only eat there about once every couple of months. There were few people at the location and they messed up my order, the table was dirty (like old napkins and straw wrappers), the servers were on their phones, and I had to wait a while for a re-fill on coke. We live abroad so when visiting back in the U.S. we always enjoy an all time favorite. We travel all over the U.S. So needless to say we sample many WH. This location was literally the best WH we have ever had. The service was exceptional, and the food.... It was served piping hot, fresh and perfectly suited to all our request.
