I sat at the bar with some friends because everyone knows that Skinny J's is the place to go before heading over to the arena for a concert so it was packed and the bartender was quick to make our order and serve it to us. While passing through the area, we had food delivered to our hotel via DoorDash from Skinny J's. We ordered the Spinach Dip and Chips, Caesar salad and the BBQ Burger. The salad was good with fresh lettuce and pretty decent dressing. The burger had good flavor and was cooked exactly how we ordered it. The Spinach Dip was okay, slightly bland, but the accompanying chips were good. Obviously, since we had it delivered, we can't speak to atmosphere, service or anything else. Today around 4 pm. Food was fabulous! I had the Buffalo whole wings! Amazing! Pepper jack bites delicious! My son had the grilled shrimp and said he hadn't had shrimp that good since the beach. The fries here are outstanding. Their summer cocktail menu was nice but had some misses--luckily the amazing bartender warned us against some of the less than stellar offerings that she wasn't thrilled about. When I was deciding on something else, she asked what kind of flavor I was going for and snapped up something of her own, which didn't have a name as she was just freestyling but it was a delicious watermelon sweet and sour drink. It was delicious. The ambiance is kind of... elevated dive bar? There were kids in there, which was weird, and it doesn't seem sure whether it wanted to be a bar or a restaurant. Dude. First time ever hearing about the place, let alone ordering from here and holy $#!+ was I blown away. In Little Rock with my wife for a little weekend getaway, we're both starving, and I tell her to just pick any place and order me anything she thought I'd like. After a little Google research and a quick online order, food was on the way. Arriving in under an hour (pretty impressive for a Friday night in LR), still fresh and warm, the delivery time alone impressed me. Maybe that was more due to the incredible DoorDash driver, but still...I was surprised. Anyway, she ended up ordering the loaded fries for herself and decided I'd like the "Slap Yo Mama" oysters. "Like" is an understatement, "like" is the epitome of "putting it nicely". I fell in love with the dish. Served with fresh golden buttered bread and cooked to perfection, these oysters were unlike any I'd ever had. Crispy on the outside, so full of flavor I probably would've slapped my mama if she was with us. I mean, first bite damn near blew my socks off. I was like a pig in the trough after that. I didn't stop until they were finished. A flavor explosion of perfect proportion. On to the appetizer! No, I didn't start with it. It was an afterthought and one that almost outshined the main entree. I was surprised with a Cajun crawfish dip that was the perfect combination of melty, meaty, and flavorful. Served with fresh, hot, homemade wonton chips, this dip could've been a meal on it's own! The cup looked small (not too small, just small) but boy did it pack a punch! I couldn't finish it. So dense, the chips so filling...I had to save half of it for lunch tomorrow. I also tried some of the pepper Jack cheese curds and a few fried pickles. Nothing disappointed. Nothing. You think a perfect restaurant can't exist, especially via delivery, then you come across a place like this. Exceptional is the only word I can think of to describe it. Pure culinary bliss. Just finished eating a few moments ago and I had to review the place immediately; I can't remember being so excited about a delivery meal in quite some time. I came on a Sunday and service while slow, was friendly. My server Summer, was clearly too busy, but engaging and helpful whenever we spoke. The Rueben egg rolls are delicious. Deep fried crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside, with fantastic tangy sauce, these things deliver. For my meal, I ordered the northeast chicken quesadilla, which sounded good on paper, but came out a soggy tasteless mess. I had to ask for a fork and knife to help separate the slices that were slopped on top of each other. The spicy ranch tasted just like passable normal ranch and the soggy quesadilla lacked any flavor in its own. Good ambiance and service, I will try again, but the chefs needs to improve. 46 bucks not including tip just for 2 beers, eggrolls and a quesadilla doesn't feel right. read more
