A Southern must! We are heading to our new home of Florida and stopped here for breakfast with our family of 9! The prices for the whole family is affordable and portions are big. Another plus is, how the kids meals are only $4.00 here. The service was fast and good. The waffles are delicious! I ordered a bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich, with a side of grits. I love waffle houses but the one in Mt. Belvieu 146 location is always a mess. Floors dirty and eating areas half wiped down. I always get my food to go because I really don't trust how clean anything is... there is a "hostess" walking around that I believe should add that to get list of duties. 2 stars for food only!! Our waitress Hanna had a horrible attitude, she was rude, drop coffee on my boyfriends hand. Never coming back there!!!

As soon as you walk in, every worker stops to say say "Welcome". Such a nice friendly feel. Our server was so nice, sweet girl. She was super busy and still managed to stay on top of things. Tables were scantily wiped down, so I decided to wipe my own table down with some napkins and hand sanitizer (shortcut trick I learned that works great) Husbands over easy eggs were cooked properly but my scrambled eggs were definitely not. We had awesome service here. We are no stranger to the Waffle House, so we ordered quickly. She brought our diet cokes right out with our silverware. It was a very busy Waffle House!! We didn't wait long for our food either and it was cooked perfectly. I rarely order breakfast, because it's so iffy at any restaurant. Not today. We ordered over easy eggs and they were perfect. I love Waffle House but I will NOT be returning to this location in particular... I stopped by and ordered food like any other person and all the women that worked there were nice (It was nothing but women, I even asked if they had any male workers and the lady told me no). I had decided to order take-out and take it home with me. However, I changed my mind and told my waitress I had decided to stay (mind you, I am not the type of person to go all crazy or act a fool because things aren't going my way). Well apparently, the cook did not hear the waitress tell her that I was staying and started to plate the items in a take out container by this time the waitress stepped closer to hear to tell her but I had already told her not to worry about it and let it be, that I would simply take the items home but the waitress was persistent to tell the cook that I was staying. By this time, the cook was already furious about something else she had going on among the fellow employees so I was just ready to get out and go. Long story short, she finished plating my food on a regular plate and walked over to drop it in front of me. I was so disgusted with her behavior especially, after I had told her to do whatever was easiest for her - whether she wanted to put it in a take out container or regular plate (reason I even spoke to the cook was because she called me out and asked me, "Well what do you want?!!!") I can not even bring myself to put a star but in order for me to post my review I have to. Everyone who is working at the time of 10:00am needs to be fired. My family and I were not gives drinks while the only two other tables received drinks and their meals. The entire staff was heinously rude to us. Our waiter had already told us he was not coming back and that someone else was going to bring us our drinks and food. When we decided to leave after the mistreatment they all yelled at us "BYE". If you have a biracial family stay far away from this Waffle House. Their was also two sweet ladies who came in the same time as us an he told them the same thing that he wasn't going to come back after he took their orders and they got up and left. We say their for 20 minutes and had enough. They were trying to wait us out. read more

I am a frequent customer of Waffle House. BUT I had my granddaughter and wife with me when we visited this location. We went and sat down at a booth. It's seem to us as if the whole building was infested with blue tail flies, you know the large disgusting flies. Not one or two but at least 30 or 40 we saw. We told The staff, they apologized. But we left anyway. The management has to address this problem. read more

This may be mostly nostalgia talking but this is one of my favorite Waffle House locations. I'm a huge fan of Waffle House in general. I have made it a tradition to bring my son here on his first day of school. He is a student in Barbers Hill Independent School District nearby. From the moment we walked in, we were treated very well. Everyone was very friendly to welcome us with a good morning. We were seated promptly. It is always so cold in this restaurant! Bundle up. I'm not complaining though since it is approximately one million degrees outside in the summertime. Our waitress was very nice. I appreciate it anytime someone takes a moment to interact with my son. All too often kids are pushed to the side. We always order the waffle. How can you not order the item the restaurant is named after? We order them on the lighter side of being done. You can ask them to prepare them this way if you so desire and I recommend it. I also love their sausage as well as their hashbrowns. They have decent coffee. We will be back! Went in this morning for a to-go order. The restaurant wasn't busy but none of the waitresses asked for my order. The cook, Alan, asked if I had been helped, told him no so he took my order, cooked it perfectly and got me out in about 10 minutes. Now, that's great customer service! Walked into the waffle house today to begin my birthday celebration with a hot breakfast, but walked out 5 minutes later. The staff was not warm at all, they did not greet my husband or myself with their signature good morning greeting. We took a seat in a booth near the cash register and still nothing. Sort of disappointed. The food was as to be expected, but the grits were HORRIBLE! The grits looks old and tasted even older or strange. The other food items were decent. My boyfriend and I stopped in while traveling from Victoria Texas back home to Florida. We had been very thirst and hungry. When we got there we were the only people there. By the time we got our camper situated and went inside there was a group of workers sitting at the bar(which is fine because we're still the only people there so we expect to it least sit down and have drinks within 10 minutes) well this was NOT the case! We sat there a good 10 minuets maybe 15. I even got up went to the bathroom and washed my hands. I decided to turn around and see what was taking the waitress so long to come get our drink order. As I turn around I realize she's doing everything she can to not look our way so we can get her attention. She would not come and wait on us! By the time we got up and walked out another lady showed up for work. So I'm guessing she didn't have enough time to wait on us but she had plenty of time to wait on the 6 men at the bar and another couple on the other side of the restaurant.
