It was our first time in Crosby. Thanks to Yelp we found this place and decided to give it a try. Food was good. Service was good. Inside was nice. Reminded me of a small Kelly's Country kitchen restaurant except better service. I like the jars that we used as glasses. Nice touch! Lots of locals. Great food, and service even though it can get pretty busy, nobody rushes you. Food comes out quick. Casual ambiance with good coffee. I ordered the huevos rancheros. Great tasting hot salsa like it should be. Came with black beans and potatoes that were awesome. I recommend this. Eggs are made and topped your way on a tostada with beans and hot sauce poured over it. Definitely delicious. I ordered sweet cream crepes to go and they forgot to add the sweet cream on the side and they were a little dry. A little disappointed but oh well. I do recommend this establishment and will come back. Only four stars because of my crepes this time. I spent $45 plus tip. read more

I see why Hungry Jack's always has a wait! My first time trying HJ was for breakfast. I had the pancake combo with grits and bacon. Everything was delicious and homemade. The second time I ordered Togo. I ordered the chicken tender plate with mashed potatoes and corn. The chicken tenders are huge. They are more like mini fillets. The service was great both times and the restaurant is very clean! If you are in the Crosby area you have to stop by and try them. Be sure to go to their website and add your name to the wait list before you head there. read more

But when I was handed the bill and had to fork over $28 (including $4 for toast -- which is literally just two total slices of white bread -- that I didn't even ask for), it left a bad taste in my mouth. Make sure to go online and get on their waitlist before coming here. It's always busy because it's that good. Everything on their menu is phenomenal the burgers the nachos the steak you name it. I absolutely loved the food here! Not only was it reasonably priced and the portion sizes big, but it tasted so good too! I got the country biscuits and gravy and it came with so much gravy, usually I have to ask for extra at other places. The pancakes were so fluffy, it was a perfect mix between fluffy and dense without being too dry. But the French toast (not pictured sadly) was the star of the show: I think most French toast is subpar, but this one had such nice doughy texture, and a crunchy coating of cinnamon, that it was the best French toast I've had. The restaurant itself was pretty quaint and country themed, it had cute decor! Our waitress Alexandria was AMAZING! I would come back just to be sat in her section. She was nice without being overbearing, offered great suggestions, refilled our drinks before we could even ask, and checked on us consistently. She even made sure my iced coffee wasn't too sweet and specially made it, even the refill she brought me. She was great! The place did have a wait though, which I was not expecting on a Friday morning. We wait about an hour, was originally estimated 45 minutes. I highly recommend joining the waitlist online if you want to visit anytime after work/during the weekend (we weren't aware they had one until we got there). How have I never heard of Hungry Jack's? Man, have I been missing out. We walked in and were seated right away. The place is packed. From the outside, you could never tell how bustling the inside is. We were greeted promptly by beautiful Alexandria. Girl, you are absolutely fantastic at what you do!! The level of service that you showed to me and my husband on his birthday was beyond expected, yet extremely appreciated!! The food was out fast and hot Great atmosphere, great service, absolutely GREAT!! FYI....your entire party must be present before they will sit you! Great decision!! Great food, Great atmosphere, The wait staff is okay. We've been here with wait staff that were obsolete and we've also been here where certain members of the wait staff weren't so attentive. My reasoning for giving the establishment four stars is because the cleanliness of the restrooms. There was no soap in dispensers, The toilet tissue dispenser in the men's restroom is also falling apart and lastly is the horrible toilet tissue itself! LITERAL SANDPAPER. If anal band aids were a thing I definitely needed a few after this Sunday's visit! Only urinating at this establishment is highly advised. You're better off going to the Chik-fil-a in the parking lot for any other restroom business you may have. read more

Don't let the exterior fool you. This place did not disappoint!!! Hungry Jack's is the Breakfast Klub of Crosby! Everything was beyond good!!!! There can be a bit of a wait so call or go online to be placed on the waiting list. I ordered the New York cheesecake waffle with country-fried steak, hash browns, and eggs. My daughter got the regular french toast with eggs and bacon. Our bill was $59 for three people and everyone had leftovers. Y'all they had Philly cheese steak omelets, cinnamon toast crunch french toast, blueberry pancakes, sweet potato fries, burgers and so much more! This place had raving review and I understand why! Service food and atmosphere are top notch!! Two of us went on a Saturday around 10am and had about a half hour wait. they text you when your table is ready, so you can browse the shops nearby while you wait. they also allow you to see where you are on the waiting list. their food was spectacular. we got our food within 5 minutes. i was a huge fan of the waffle! my boyfriend had the philly omelette and was so flavorful and HUGE. Iced coffee was yummy and has free refills. our new go to breakfast spot! read more

The food is actually good here some of the stuff is a little hard to cut through with the knife they give you. It's going to be a while for the wait so you should put yourself in on the wait list online if it's the weekend and maybe check other times. I am giving this place 4 stars however the waitress while she was nice did immediately put a 20% tip without asking I didn't mind since we were already going to tip that amount but I can see it being a problem for some. read more

If you are me when you're hungry- you want to eat!! Well if you look like me you will be watching others pass you and still waiting to eat we waited over 69 minutes w. a disable senior In our party when we had made online reservations so we actually waited longer than it took us to eat our meal. The attendant kept saying we need about 5 more minutes and it ended up 45 then 60 then 68 plus still Waiting. Our name kept descending from the top of the list. I know it's a small establishment but disabled seniors no matter if you don't (not a regular) know them should have a priority in a small town like Crosby. The Southern Hospitality is applied to everyone. But I guess - everyone loves it -I myself think disabled veterans should be able to dine and not have to wait over 70 minutes in line To sit and dine and we never whined!! read more

First time visit...Food: we had omelets, they were dry and tasted as tho they were cooked in old grease, just plain bad, My partner wanted an order of toast on the side, they charged $4.00 for 2 slices of toast. Service: was ok we had an issue with coffee refill asked another waitress (not ours) with a coffee cafe in her hands, she said wait for our waitress. Payment: This is a good one, went to pay at the counter and the lady at the counter stated that we must pay at the table. Tried to pay at the table and their machine would not work; we then had to go back to the counter and pay. the check was for $41.63, i looked at the machine where they had inserted my card and it said the amount was $49.96, I asked why and told them that this was a mistake. the lady at the counter said she could not fix the issue, she said she would have to get a manager. The manager printed out a recite that said $41.63. When I got home, I checked my credit card site at they had charged my card for $49.96. I will be disputing this payment when it gets passed being pending. BE AWARE of your check, it is not enough that they charge you $14,00 for an omelet, $4.00 for 2 slices of toast, and $4.00 for coffee they have to try and steal from you with the check scam. We live in California and while visiting family in Houston, they took us to Hungry Jack's for breakfast. Everything on the menu looked delicious but I finally decided on the country fried steak and eggs, with a side of fried okra. I got a bit worried when I saw the large platters that were delivered to the table next to us but thought maybe it was just the items they ordered. I quickly realized that this is simply the Hungry Jack's way and there is no way anyone could leave there hungry. So. Much. Food!!!!!!!! Our orders came out quickly, everyone in my party enjoyed their meals and our service was excellent. I didn't get the name of our waitress, but she was warm and friendly and very attentive without being overbearing. After learning that it was my birthday, she offered me Nutella crepes to go but had them plated first so they would include everything that came with them. She even delivered them with a hug and birthday wishes! Her service was top notch and she truly helped get my day off to a great start. Hungry Jack's is exactly the kind of place I wish we had more of in Sacramento and I will definitely go back before I head home in a few weeks. read more

We have been here numerous times. We love it. It's better to go early, then you might not have such a wait. HJ is very popular to the area. The owner is usually there and he is super friendly and inviting. Food: always fresh. Good portions too. Seating: booths and tables Non smoking facility Restroom: 1 single women's and 1 single men. Be prepared to wait! We waited 1 hour and 20 minutes so be patient and friendly understand it's a small restaurant but it will be so worth the food. It was amazing good the place was packed but it's a very charming restaurant. Only 4 stars because of the long wait but other than that the food was definitely a five stars read more
