Came here the other night while in need of a sweet fix for the evening. Got a shake with cookie dough ice cream, Oreos & caramel syrup. The girl who helped me was pleasant and helpful. The shake itself was good, perfect amount of milk, good consistency but that's as expected since they use Blue Bell ice cream. My only gripe was that it wasn't blended well enough to be fully enjoyable. There were large chunks of Oreos towards the bottom that took up about 1/4 of the cup. I had to get a spoon to finish it. I've had shakes elsewhere with Oreos that were blended well enough to enjoy fully with a straw. If they learn how to blend them better, guaranteed 5 star. read more

This is our second time coming here and I would definitely recommend. The staff is extremely helpful, the decor is very inviting and colorful, and the milkshakes are made to near perfection - not too sweet. The only comment I have is regarding the waffle being a bit too sweet but it was still enjoyable. Why 5 stars? Because they serve shakes made with Blue Bell. --- --- --- What else do you need to know? Maybe the Blue Bell angle is less of a novelty now that we live in Texas again, but it was definitely a bit more of a needle in a haystack situation when we lived in Florida. But after all these years, I still think Blue Bell is the best ice cream in the country and Chill has what seems like about 50 different flavors of it to convert into shake form. I could have ordered about 40 of the options and been happy but I opted for the #1 highlight on Yelp: Butter Beer. It was as amazing as I would have hoped. I had attended an event for the wonderful charity JoyRide last week and they had a new place in Magnolia named Chill Milkshake and Waffle Bar serving samples of their milkshakes. They were out of the world delicious. So when I got home that evening I looked them up. Their menu was INCREDIBLE! I decided Monday I was going to try them out. The place was even better than expected. So many treats to pick from. I had a hot dog that was out of this world and they must have 30+ flavors of milkshakes that you can order. I asked for one not on the menu which was cinnamon. They said no problem and made up an insanely delicious cinnamon milkshake. The people working there couldn't have been nicer and more hospitable. I would give them 10 stars if I could. We have been to this location twice now. I haven't experienced customer service like this since back in the day. We went both times to purchase yummy treats to reward my kiddos grades and a neighbor's kiddos grades. The ladies behind the counter engage the kiddos, give them high fives, tell them they are proud of them, and celebrate with them. My youngest worked SO hard to pull up his grade, and they made his day with words of encouragement. I cannot recommend this establishment more. The milkshakes are INCREDIBLE also. :) We enjoy their game selection and make an evening of it. Milkshakes and board games make a great family night! read more

For my food, I got the Famous Meal #1: Italian Beef Sandwich. However, I came prepared: it was going to be personalized to be the perfect meal. FIRST: make it big ($2), then add sweet and hot peppers ($1.98), mozz cheese ($.89), and ordered slightly wet. For my sides, I opted for the large onion rings ($4.99), and in addition --- this is A LOT -- I got the famous Chocolate Cake Shake (additional $6.19). If you were going to get a normal meal, it would probably cost you about $14.57. Mine -- with all the add-ons? $26.88. Take that into consideration. How was the food? Portillo's is definitely the experience many Chicagoans have heaped about. I got the mint chip shake ($6.95) and my Wife got a plain Chocolate shake (also 6.95). After getting our shakes (in under two minutes) we headed outside to a bench nearby to enjoy them. Mine was creamy with bits of chocolate bouncing up a rather large bore straw that held firm to a big pull. Apparently someone at Corporate has a clue about what constitutes a proper milkshake straw. I tried a sip of my Wife's chocolate shake and it was also creamy with a chocolaty finish that let you know it was milk chocolate. Both of these were premium shakes that did not disappoint the taste buds or texture of the pull. While I would not go here often, the shakes are rich, I would make it a place to consider for an after meal treat from time to time. Their menu is large for a speciality shop and their chocolate bar samples were tasty as well. They are in the Kroger Shopping Center off of Gosling and Research Forest on the Shadowbend side of Kroger. Most nights they are open until 10pm. There was a lot of chocolate chips (they didn't skim on that) and again the shake was thick and creamy. The place is a pricey- $14 for a bark and shake, but it's good every one in awhile.
