12/31/25: My wife and stopped by for brunch and the restaurant wasn't very busy. Our order came out pretty quick, and it was freshly made. I put some money in the juke box to listen to music while we were eating, and left some credits for the employees to jam to. I Havent been to a waffle house in years. Anytime we try to visit on a weekend they are packed to the brim with a long wait. I had the opportunity on a weekday to come when it was not so busy. Would give a negative 10 stars if I could. Absolutely nothing good to say about tonight's dinner. Tuesday night. 9pm and upon arriving almost a empty restaurant. 1. Placed a online order for a pecan waffle and 2 large orders of bacon. Online it said order would be ready in 11 min. 2 After getting there 20 min later, I was told they had not had a chance to call it to the chef yet. 3. There was three full tables and one table with only two people at it. So nowhere close to being a full restaurant. 4. I heard one of the waitresses say to another that she had just now given the cook the order for her table. 5. There was no apology made for the delay in the order and not even a drink or something offered in the 10 minutes it took before they even gave my order to the cook. 6. While sitting and nothing else to do I saw a sign at the register that said all to go orders are charged a 20% to go fee. 10% going to the server and the other 10% as a regular to-go fee. I somewhat understand the 10% for the to go fee but for the server I think that is ridiculous as you were going to pick up your own order. And especially when not being given a choice and waiting almost 45 minutes to get your to-go order. And yet they still ask if you want to leave a tip when you order online. I've also never seen anything online informing me of this 20% to go fee. Which apparently maybe seen on your bill in different ways other than explained above. I will definitely think twice before ordering anything to go from them again. 7. The pecan waffle was fine however both orders of large bacon were so overcooked they were almost inedible. Whoever runs this place should really dig into who they hire. Mind you, when I got there, they had 0 customers, so I wasn't understanding why they couldn't start doing my order. I have never gotten good hash browns from a Waffle House. I have never met another human that has gotten good hash browns from a breakfast restaurant that was not fast food. Why is that? I will tell you I usually love eating at waffle House, but as I sat there today, I watched this gentleman decide to use the scraper that he puts off the grill onto the food. Pull the pork and meat out of the fridge throw it on the grill and then proceed to not change his gloves after touching all the raw meat and touch plate then decide to Cross contaminate multiple different items. I can tell he does not enjoy his job and that's fine. You should find one that doesn't involve cooking for people because you can make them sick. The waitress is very nice. They seemed overwhelmed, but still manageable if they would've just done it the right way. I got up in the middle of him cooking my food and decided that wasn't the place for me anymore unfortunately, it has been great in the past but I will probably never go back to this location again. read more

Waffle House 4 stars you ask? yes! I was taking my grandkids out for a few hours activity and needed to stop for breakfast. Primarily so we didnt have to sit in morning traffic. Everything including the traffic is back to normal in North Texas so, I pulled in to their recommendation Waffle house. Ive only been one other time and that was years ago. I knew what to expect but ,was surprised. The quality of food was good. Prepared fresh when you order. I even saw them cooking the bacon and sausage which doesnt happen at a lot of places that precook the bacon. All three of us ordered similar things and were served by a conscientious young man that made the experience even better than it had to be. Very pleasantly surprise but I would go back. read more

Not sure where to begin so, ugh. First, been a fan and customer of WH since 1979. Still order my food same way our most favorite WH Waitress (Wanda) would call it out to the Cook. They no longer take telephone orders and you are forced to use an APP that is average at best. In fact, I would not be giving this review of the APP hadn't kicked me out three times while trying to leave them my concerns. Plus, the APP doesn't allow you to have them "hold the garden" on your burgers, or ask for your Hash Browns to be crispy. But most disappointing, this location never gets my order correct. The drive isn't too bad (about 10-12 minutes depending on traffic on SH78. But having to then wait for the order to be corrected, it's time I shouldn't have to spend. Hash Browns were barely cooked. Neither burger had cheese. One had the "garden" and one didn't. No onions included, on the one burger. It's just frustrating that this is still a struggle with restaurants these days. To boot, they charge you a "To Go Supply Fee" (I guess for the super thin to-go bag, the plastic container and then plasticware you didn't need) and a "To Go Service Fee" for someone putting your food in the plastic container. Isn't that called an Hourly Wage, and aren't those things already built in to the higher than average prices? Oh, then you are given the choice to leave somebody a Tip, well before you pick up your order (that you will soon learn was messed up). We can't blame the staff for WH and their idiotic policies, but they can certainly read and re-read a customers order over and over, and double check it before putting it in the container and back, and handing it to the customer. read more

Don't have any reason to give less stars. Came here one early morning with my daughter. Place was not packed at all. They have plastic clear shower curtains in between the booths. Though once you see it and laugh your arse off, you'll be thinking hmmm that's a good idea! Food was good. No issues what so ever. It's a cheap place to go and it has good food. Listen, there is an unspoken rule about WH where you go for the food and not the customer service nor cleanliness. HOWEVER, this is the first WH ive been to that has each table bussed and cleaned within a reasonable timeframe, been greeted every time, and no attitude from servers (biggest shock tbh). This honestly reminded me of an IHOP or Denny's. 5/5, definitely blew my expectations away. Keep up the good work! read more

Every time I visit, I question whether this is an actual Waffle House or some kind of renegade knock-off. Food is fine. Service is a disaster. A couple of examples. A few weeks ago - weekday - 5:55 AM, 2 customers. Ordered coffee, was told they will need to make it - would be about 7 minutes. That's ridiculous. Most recent visit - weekend 7:30 AM - 10 employees present. 10? Really? 9 Customers. I've seen 2 cooks and 2 waitresses keep up with a full house and a line waiting. It STILL took nearly 10 minutes to get a cup of coffee. Time after time, service is a major disappointment. The corporate folks in Norcross, GA need to be all over this. read more

We watched this waffle House being built with anticipation. I didn't grow up in the south, but spent a couple years in Georgia where many great memories of booth fun had been had. My order was always "Order up, hold the grits!". The words still bring a smile to my face. Moving to Texas, we were excited to have access to Waffle House again. The nearest one was about ten miles away, but on nights where the kids have soccer/swimming/TKD/piano....a 20 minute drive can cut into reading/bathing/sleeping. So needless to say, we were stoked to see it being built right down the street from us. Some people in the community were less than thrilled that it was coming but that's their ignorance and closed mindedness. Walking in, we were greeted with smiles and hellos! We snagged the last booth and our waitress Espe took our order. nd boy did we order! I mean... It's comfort cooking. We had steak and eggs, hash browns, bacon, biscuits and gravy, breakfast sandwiches, and of course... Waffles! We devoured almost every single thing with gluttony. Our drinks were constantly filled. Our dirty plates were constantly taken away. And the staff provided quick wit and humor. This is what waffle House is about. We laughed and ate and had a great time! Place is dirty. Can't believe this place is in Sachse. The wait staff rather get high outside than serve and take orders. They will sit in a booth and watch their phones instead of bringing over drinks or menu. The manager is a huge slob and yells at employees in front of customers. I would like to shout out Ms.Debby. She's such a hard worker and is so polite. I went on sunday morning so it was busy and loud. There was one of the guys there, maybe a manager but he was not very polite and not very helpful to his employees. Just stand there yelling and calling out orders without moving so much as a finger. The employees are great but I think the manager can be a little more helpful and help out his staff. The food was good and hot. Good food, but did not get me salsa because they said they were out, but the people ordered after us they got salsa also took 20 minutes to get my waffle but the rest of the food was out food. The older lady that worked tonight was nice but she wasn't are sever she ask do you need somthing because I looked over to her but she is very nice. Waffle House tonight the wheels fell off this location. 2:05a - 3:10a was my visit so the Owner or General Mgr can see First time visiting this location, just noticed it from Hwy78 the other day. On arriving the parking lot was clean and appeared to have a descent amount of customers When l walked across the parking lot a few people were leaving complaining about slow service. Near the front door was a booth where the food looked barely touch. l walked to the other end where a Man was also complaining about slow service and being ignored. I had a 15 minute wait for my wife to arrive, so the Young waiter brought me water and coffee. I noticed the staff My waiter, 2 Male Cooks and a Female Mgr. There seem to be a heated discussion about the waiter looking to young to work there, but he was 20 and goofing off the gentleman was saying. He asked to speak to the Mgr, who turns out to be 16 (the waiter said) as the discussion continued, while people were waiting on food to be delivered. Once my wife arrived, we waited additional 15 minutes to be waited on. She decided she wanted nothing at that time. I ordered the Breakfast Bowl which was very delicious as usual. Only issue was l had to ask for my toast twice, both times was blamed on the cooks. Third time l told the waiter my toast popped up and he promptly brought it to me. No cooks were behind the counter at this time. I had to ask for a coffee refill and then again remind him. l ate while me and my wife continue hearing customers complain about not getting everything they ordered and one Lady complaining about the Mgr texting on her phone more that taking care of helping get the orders to the tables.. l know this is not the typical Waffle House Service, that we have been accustomed to, but this is a very Honest Review. The service at night is terrible here. The two employees (Carson is the only name I remember) were lazy and bad mouthed their place of employment in front of customers. The other guy who claimed he was a supervisor was on his phone, scratching his head, and coughing w/o covering his mouth then returned back to the grill without washing his hands.. disgusting. Absolutely the worst Waffle House ever! 1/2 the tables open and it still takes the cook to bring us a menu, 10 full mins go by and no one even ask us if we wanted drinks! I ask can we get coffee, and am rudely told by the 18yr old manager, Garrett, the other tables were there first! I'm sorry -no, those 4 tables were empty when we sat down in the booth next to the bar top. He said, keep complaining I'll call the police....I'm sorry what?? Customer service, Garrett was terrible! He will never make it in the outside world and certainly NOT in customer service. We waited 10 more mins for the cook to possibly help us, then we left. I was the only African American in there with 2 other families and 6 staff and I wasn't greeted or given any water or anything when I sat down. The two other couples was given food and drinks. I sat there for 25 min and was still not greeted. A Caucasian male walked in and was greeted and asked what he would like, which caused me to leave. Never again! read more

5 stars on the breakfast! It was delicious. I had the bacon, egg (fried hard) and cheese melt on raisin toast with a side of grits and hash browns. Everything was fresh and cooked to order. Look, I'm not here for the excellent customer service or ambience. That's just not Waffle House.... it's 5AM and I'm leaving the function faded and I want something to soak up the alcohol. The prices are cheap and the portions are huge. Definitely a bang for your buck. Also special shoutout to this WF location for having clean and fully stocked restrooms.
