This review is to report terrible customer service at the Brook Lane location on 7-8-26 at around 11 am. The AA waitress was so rude and unfriendly that it ruined my entire experience. I normally tip at least 20%, but I tipped her what she deserved...$0. To top it off, she began arguing loudly with a coworker while I and other customers were there. Most waffle houses get a little cigarette ash on your eggs or a little eggs get spilled in a brawl... and I'm not complaining. But this waffle house just served me the fluffiest most perfect waffle I've ever had in my life. I didn't even know this level of waffle was capable of being made at a waffle house. Went there for breakfast, and got a heated political discussion (at fairly high volume) between the cook and the servers as to whether Trump is the best president since Reagan, or not. No extra charge. No matter which side, I don't want that kind of drama with my breakfast. Stay away unless you like that sort or action. And, oh yeah, the grits were runny. read more

I don't know why Waffle House gets a bad rap. I had my Fathers Day breakfast at the WH in Spring Lake, NC, on Bragg Blvd. from the time we walked in all the staff were so nice, even the door greeter/security guard was nice. We had a fantastic breakfast, lots of food, delicious !!! Price was right ! Goodbye Denny's and IHOP ! Oh, btw, this was my first visit to WH. 2nd visit to WH. Much different than first, terrible service, staff very loud, not paying attention to customers, it seems like they were all there for fun and to eat, half staff having meals. I can also see that if you are a regular or so I assume you are treated much different than if you are not known. I was impressed on first visit now, not sure if I will go back. I am giving this Waffle House 1 star due to the fact that this is my second visit during the pandemic and each time this worker (african american male) never wears his mask properly and the manager gives me attitude when i made her aware; but the funny thing is that the manager is cooking right beside him; so she is allowing it. This place should be 4 stars, but it's a three. That's not to say that I am not a fan of the waffle house, in fact I'm a huge fan of the waffle house. Cracker Barrel's are 4 stars and waffle house right behind, but it's better than all the other ones. The waffle house now has this bowl of food. They have a breakfast version with eggs and they have a lunch version with Philly cheesesteak. I had a breakfast version as I did another time. It comes with hashbrowns with the works, 2 eggs, a scoop of chili, a scoop of chipped, and sausage. It's really good. It might be better at 2 AM in the morning, but it was good at 3 PM in the afternoon. Actually the waffle house at 2 AM in the morning is probably a 5+ star rating. read more

The service was good. It's the type of environment where the employees are comfortable with yelling across the restaurant to make an order. This style makes the restaurant fun, that's my opinion. Better than just taking the order just to take the order. My waitress was very helpful until I needed to pay. She didn't see me put my cc down. Oh well, at least someone else asked if I needed assistance. As for the food, it is ordinary, nothing too spectacular. The side order of hash browns was good. From the looks of it, it didn't suit my appetite, but I tasted it and it was good. I ordered the Texas bacon turkey melt plate. The sandwich was so hot that I needed to eat it with a knife and fork. Waffle House is my favorite place for breakfast and I always look forward dining in on the weekends. Every now and then the experience is different but none to bad. I believe it just depends on the location and you'll notice something different you like about it. I've been to many and found a few I only visit since the experiences have been very good but this particular location I can't imagine ever going back. As I sat at a nearby table the servers were chatting. This went on for 10 minutes or maybe more since I figured they would casually multi task or something to take my order. This didn't happen. One of the servers after some time dropped by and asked 'will you be ding in?' Although this sounded rude I nodded and proceeded with my order. My drink took forever to come as well as my food and the restaurant had barely any customers except two and one family of three. The tea tasted as though it been sitting for more than awhile and the food looked rushed but was still ok. I flagged down for butter but never got it and wasn't willing to waste another 10 minutes. I ended up just feeling sour and without a ticket paid then left. First Waffle House I've been unsatisfied with. The food is usually always good but it's a hit or miss how long you may be in for even if it's one or two things since I eat little. 3 Stars because of Customer Service But I would discourage anyone from the Restaurant as it is good food, better than IHOP. read more

The employees were very friendly and the service overall was good . My only complaint was the place is filthy. Employees had their personal beverages behind the counter. The appliances were nasty. Lettuce and carrots left by someone who was probably making a salad was left on the counter top and floor. The walls (in some places) even had old food stuck to them. I'm not returning based on how nasty the place was. Just because an establishment is old doesn't mean it has to be nasty. read more

My standards for Waffle House are usually pretty low walking in, it's part of the novelty of going. But this one in particular was so awful it forced me to write my very first yelp review. It was pretty much empty and it took at least 15 minutes to get a water. The waitress had headphones in so I found myself essentially yelling my order at a blank face. Very frustrating. Luckily the cook was the only good employee in this place and delivered the classic All Star Special up to par. Just went there and nightshift service sucks!! The short waitress with the glasses and ponytail was very rude after I expressed displeasure at not being able to eat what I had with me even though my family was eating their food. I have never had that problem before. She felt I was rude because I asked for the manager and said there wasnt one on this shift. She kept maaming me and then wanted me to leave to which I said no. Then I put on my earphones and ingnored her. Then she said she would call the police if I didnt leave as I was still being rude to her when I told my son to wipe his hands before he got that crap, eggyolk, on his white clothes. I told her to go ahead and that I would tell them the same thing. I told her the music was what was keepingme from saying anything else to her and that I would be back in the morning to speak to the manager. She tried to stare me down.
