Ok who does not love Waffle House after a long night out or traveling. In my case it was traveling through Troy Alabama. I sat at the counter and was greeted by the resident Jack of all trades! Server, Dish Washer, Waffle Maker, Cashier, Trainer and Grill Top Cook. Unfortunately I did not get his name. The food was delicious, service awesome and the whole attitude of the staff was happy. The floor looks like they mopped with a dirty mop. There was food all over the floor in the kitchen area and everyone walked around it. Service was fine, even though it was crowded. I ordered a steak and eggs...sent the steak back because I asked for medium, I got well done and it tasted funny--old really. They brought me another steak, still well done and still old...any steak lover knows what I mean...this steak was not healthy to eat...my last visit and it has been my first visit since all of the drama not long ago...won't be back again....packed it all up in a to go box for my puppies at home. I wish there was a no star option.The first time I went there I ordered a chicken salad. The lettuces were so stale that as you can see red spots and withered leaves. Since the cut chicken breasts were on top of the lettuce her so I took the first bite of chicken before mixing with dressing. I noted those as I was flipping by. I mentioned the staff, she was so rude, did not apologize. I did not ask for money back. I just want you to tell her know about the freshness but she was fired up, tale telling with other staffs, and gave $2 back and rudely she said that it was deducted for a price of a chicken I was nibbling on. This is one of the WORST places I have ever gone to. They are rude, poor mannered, embarrassing savages. I ordered a big breakfast to go and when I finally get to my place I realize the only thing they forgot was a side of scrambled eggs... And these people made a huge deal about a $2 side... Even though I paid over $30... This absolutely poorly mannered woman telling me 'you should've checked the bag before leaving' uh no, you're working on an hourly salary, so last time I checked it's your or whoever's responsibility to check the order and check if all items are packed. And if it was a misunderstanding, then apologize and resolve the problem instead of blaming the customer for spending good money at your restaurant and saying it's their fault that an item wasn't added or not put in the bag. And when receipts aren't being handed to or placed in the bag, it's harder to resolve a situation where the employee is bashing and pointing fingers. I hope another paying customer never goes this experience. read more

They acted like they didn't want us there and we were happy to oblige after 5 minutes of not even being recognized at our nasty table - and we were the only ones in the place!
