The upper porch served as the location for Jefferson Davis last public speech after the war. The restaurant serves a nice breakfast to boarders and a more elegant option for dinner with a full menu. Pleasant service in a cozy dining area makes for a great experience in this historic home. P.S. My wife's filet mignon was marinated, which is an odd way to serve a premium cut. After dinner, had to stand in a long line to pay the tab by cash or check since they don't take credit cards. Overall, I'm glad we tried it but it's not worth the drive and the hassle
