Came here for lunch breakfast after an early morning 6am flight from NYC to KY. I arrived 11am and i was hungry and sleepy. I didn't get any waffles even though this place is a "Waffle House" Lol. Packed for a Sunday late morning crowd, we grabbed two seats at the counter and watched the miraculous ballet that was the Waffle House assembly line of food prep and delivery. The staff, though slammed, were jovial and got everything right. Even my "burn the bacon for me" request was honored. TouchTunes blared with fun tunes, and everyone was served a great meal at a reasonable price. And, Mr. Pibb on tap is a bonus treat. Nothing but American greatness. read more

The worst ever waffle house I have ever been. The server was the worst!!!! I ordered the cheese steak melt bowl. The cheese, steak and onion( with extra) you couldn't taste it over the bowl full of hash browns, and it wasn't hot when I got it. My husband ordered a waffle and sausage and I'll be damned if he didn't get but a partial waffle. Server made a new one and compared to the hundreds of visits to Waffle House it was by far the skinniest waffle I ever did see. I could understand issues if the place was busy but besides the 2 patrons already eating we were it. The service is usually friendly, especially if you are there in the morning. I like the way they do their hash browns (covered, smothered, scattered, etc.). Their burgers are good too. Breakfast items are very good. I love American breakfast food. Outstanding waffles and excellent grits. This is not a restaurant in which one would order a steak. Labor Day, The end of Cross Country Season, Thanksgiving Day all are times when I treat myself to Waffle House. The food is always great ,Coffee is quality, and service prompt and friendly. Almost every time I am there somebody has purchased another patrons food for them as a surprise. It even happened to me once! That tells you a lot about this place. It has a down home family feel to it. Where else except with family will some one pay for your meal? I also like the raisin bread toast with butter. I like raisin bread. But no one else in my family likes it. So it would be a waste to buy it and eat it at home. At the Waffle House you can get it. I really like the staff , most have been there for years and they are fast friendly and efficient. My favorite tradition is Thanksgiving day breakfast after running a 5K road race in Lexington. I so appreciate it that on a holiday the staff is there to meet my needs. In my view this is not just a place to get a meal. It is friends, family and good times. I look forward to enjoying many more holidays at the Winchester Waffle House. Maybe , I will see you there sometime. read more

The food was delicious and the cook was really friendly asked us how our food was. However the waitress was very rude hovering over us while we ate for almost half the meal and then tell me that if I didn't drink to much I could eat my food. I didn't know I my mother was my waiter. The employees were walking just outside the door to smoke as we were pulling into a parking space. To their credit they did come inside immediately to take our order. We were the only customers, yet there was a table that was yet to be cleaned, mind you this was one of the three available for dining. Just after the waitress served our food she disappeared into the restroom and never came back out, we had to have to cook figure out our check. I suppose she could have been ill, of course that's not her fault, but it all seemed a little suspect to me. Especially after the cook went and knocked on the restroom door asking our server to come out and switch places. Anyway fingers crossed we don't get sick, life on the road with few options for food in the pandemic is an adventure! read more

This is a guilty pleasure for me. A double order of hash browns with lots of the extras added. They seem somewhat under staffed when they are busy. They seemed pleasant, but very rushed. To me the eggs were fixed properly, but the waffle was overcooked & the hash browns a bit undercooked, but this is typical from my experience here. read more

The food here is really good however, this place has horrible service. The waiters/waitresses are loud and rude except for Christina. She will go out of her way to make sure you have a good experience but if she's not there beware because all the workers go on break. You try and place a to go order and the phone rings for thirty minutes. Drive there without the convenience of placing the order before hand, get there and all but one either eating or smoking outside and the phone was off the hook. The place is the worst service I've ever gotten. Horrible experience! This was my first time eating at a Waffle House, and it was such an unpleasant experience that I will never try another. There were several servers, but only our seemed to be doing anything. There were four of us, and I finally received my breakfast -one waffle- when everyone else was finished eating. The waffle was paper thin, cold and tasteless. Only one waffle iron was in use. My mom ordered hash browns topped with gravy, and was served cheese-topped hash browns. When she reminded the server what she ordered, they took it back and put gravy on the cheese. Two people ordered hash browns, and the hash browns were not cooked. The waitress apologized for my late meal and took 10% off of the ticket. Unfortunately, when I went to pay, another server misread the bill and did not subtract the 10 percent. I was then told by the assistant manager that they could not correct the mistake. read more

hello, my husband and I stopped at the waffle house to get a breakfast and I was so disappointed on how dirty it was. the tables needed cleaning, the floor looked like it was never washed and our feet stuck to the floor as we went inside. the supposedly working people and not all of them, stood around and talked instead of getting some hot water and cleaner to clean. My husband and I will never go back there again, if i pay for a meal i at least want to eat it in a clean environment . thx you read more
