Waffles Café is one of those spots you've gotta keep in your back pocket. It's clutch when you're trying to find something everyone will enjoy, especially the wife. Been going here awhile and they foof is always good. I always order the chicken well done because if you don't it's a bit undercooked for my liking. I tried something outside of the normal and had the breakfast delight waffle. It was delicious. Only bad note for me was the chicken wings were huge. I personally do not like big a$$ wings. If I lived in the area, we'd come back to Waffles Cafe much more often. We were looking for brunch in the area and waffles sounded real good, especially with good ratings. We walked in and I immediately told my husband that it felt like a Midwest restaurant, in all the best ways. It's smaller, has a home-style vibe and the portions to the pricing matched really well. This place isn't glamourous, just good food with a nice place to sit and friendly people working. The person taking our order was thorough and gave us all the options. She was super friendly (as everyone working was) and really made us feel welcome. We ordered chicken and waffle combos, one with bacon and the other with turkey sausage. Let me tell you, we didn't finish, even though we wanted to because the portion is generous. I felt bad not taking home my delicious chicken tenders but we were out doing errands and they would not have made it. The waffle itself was crispy but soft and sweet but not so much that syrup made it cloying. Excellent! The self-serve coffee bar and water station were nice. There was only one thing I absolutely didn't like and it was the iced vanilla latte. It was clearly powdered mix, which is fine, but this one didn't taste good or the proportion of mix to water was off. I had been dying to try Waffles Café, but honestly left a little underwhelmed. My son and I both ordered the chicken and waffles to go, and for some reason they packaged all the chicken together instead of splitting it into two meals. Not the end of the world, but kind of odd. The waffles were soggy by the time it was at our house basically right across the street. I was hoping for more crispness... and both the chicken and waffles themselves tasted a bit bland. The blazing sauce helped and had a nice kick, and the strawberry butter was probably the highlight: subtle, unique, and something different. The peanut butter chocolate milkshake, though, was excellent - creamy with a really balanced blend of flavors. That was definitely the winner of the meal. The café itself is small, tucked into a strip mall next to Smith's in Aliante. It seems to stay busy, and I get the impression they do a lot of takeout. Overall, today's experience felt pretty average. I'd give them another shot (probably dine-in to see if the waffles come out crispier fresh), but I was hoping for a little more soul in my chicken and waffles. read more

I'm usually here about once a week for my cheat meal--even though the option I usually get is relatively healthy. The food is always super good and fresh, and they've never gotten my order wrong in all the time I've been coming here. The staff is always so sweet. There's one girl in particular who I always forget to ask the name of--she's usually there Thursday mornings and always has my to-go order ready with a smile. She does such a great job making sure everything is correct and that my entire order is in the bag. They're always adding new things to the menu be sure to check the signs near the cashier for these. Staff is always very friendly. Just make sure you ask if your to go order is ready even if your in person. I ordered in person and the person who took our order knew we were there. Just a minor inconvenience. First impressions go along way!! My husband and I were greeted warmly. The cashier described the breakfast menu to us. She was very thorough. The food didn't take very long. Random Yelp search for breakfast while mom was in town. Was looking for something delicious and filling, but that did not cost the equivalent to dinner on gold platters. Found this little spot, and jumped in. Interior reminds me of a cross between a renovated donut shop or a Boba tea spot. Ordering was done at the register. The hostess/waitress was nice, but did not come across as welcoming at first. She dryly guided us through the menu, and seemed to perk up a bit once our ordering was complete. The menu was full of options, from fruit covered to all types of other toppings, and includes a build your own waffle section as well. I settled on chicken and waffles, because... duh. Lol Cute tip: you can get chicken tenders, wings or thighs as the star of your meal. There was the option of ranch, hot sauce, and some sauce (I can't remember the name of) which after tasting it, reminded me of chick fil a sauce with lots of cayenne pepper. The meal came with 2 eggs and a side. I opted for a side of seasoned potatoes. Mom ended up with a waffle, eggs and ham with fruit and whipped cream on the side. The waffles were good - although they were not spectacular, they did not need any syrup. I forgot to mention I opted for chicken thighs (because....duh lol), which were very tasty. One thing I can't stand is faux flavored wings (all the seasoning is on the outside) - which these definitely were not. They were fried well, and were not heavily battered which allowed for flavor minus the over floured texture, and still maintained a juicy inside. I would return just for the chicken to be honest. The seasoned potatoes were tasty. The fruit side on my mother's plate was a healthy portion of pineapple, grapes, blue berries and strawberries. Was a great starter while waiting for the piping hot food to cool a bit. The whipped cream was sweet and tasty as well. I was pleasantly surprised to run into, what seemed like the owners, who were a very nice couple who greeted me with a warm smile.
