I have not been to a Cracked Egg in a long time. Their plates are made with 3 eggs and at first I thought the prices were a little high until the food came. Other places use 4-8 eggs but the ingredients in other places is not as plentiful as here. They give you a good amount as seen in the picture of the Polish which was really good. The Lucien's scramble had a lot of sausage and veggies in it. They are not shy with the ingredients and everything was amazing. The fruit was really fresh and juicy, the cherry Coffee cake was amazing and if you are still hungry when you leave here, then you eat more than you should. The prices are definitely worth the amount given, the staff is very warm and friendly. Our server Jesus was awesome. Our drinks were rarely empty and when they were he was right there refilling them. This place has been in the same location for more than a decade and it is well kept. We came in around 10 am on a Tuesday and it was the perfect time to avoid a rush. Our baby seat fit nicely in a booth. Service was prompt and friendly. The orange juice is a small 8oz glass but tasty. The coffee cake was the star of the show but definitely take it with coffee, it's awfully sweet but I loved the pillowy feel. The BYO skillet turned out okay. Unfortunately the home potatoes were dry and it made up most of the skillet leaving me a little disappointed. They don't have the AC on just slow fans? Price point doesn't meet quality. Food tasted unseasoned and flavorless my omelet didn't look like an omelet but more like 2 sheets of eggs put together considering that it was also sliding off the other piece. Bonus is that you can substitute it in place of toast with your egg entrees! I had one of the daily specials; the Benny Tostada that was loaded with black beans, onion, smoked green and red peppers, poached eggs, in-house salsa verde and bubbling cheese. This was a tough review to write because I have been a loyal Cracked Egg customer for over 15 years. As always, I love the service. It can get busy here, but the servers are always kind and friendly. The coffee never runs out! So I always come back. So why the 3-stars? I left town for a year, and when I returned this past weekend, I went straight back to Cracked Egg which was my favorite family place. However, the food has definitely changed. My only guess is the food supplier has changed (like the Sysco standard), or the chef has changed. Here's the rundown- Carnitas omelette has too many bell peppers and not enough carnitas. The green sauce tastes too salty. -Chile Verde Rancheros must use the same green sauce as the Carnitas omelette. Too salty and the spice level is different. -Monte Cristo must use smaller slices of bread as the sandwich is smaller. I used to be able to eat one half and take the other half home. -Ham and eggs plate must now use canned ham that's sliced instead of the ham steak they had before. Lastly, the hash browns used to be buttery and fried, now they are dry and cold. Listen...the food is still good, just not the same anymore. Besides the coffee cake, there is nothing else that sets them apart from any other breakfast restaurant. read more

Several of us meet once or twice a month to have breakfast and catch up on how everyone is doing. Our original place yesterday didn't open until 11 AM so we went across the street to the Cracked Egg. This is a chain of breakfast/lunch restaurants and they also have The Egg and I spots. Five of us met in one of the smaller Cracked Eggs to which I've been. There were originally seven coming, but two had to cancel. I don't know if they would have had seating for seven. We were brought coffee quickly and it was refilled several times while we were there. I opted to get something other than a Benny so I ordered the Big Bad Wolf omelette which has ham, bacon, sausage, Polish sausage, and cheese. It comes with seasoned breakfast potatoes or you can get fruit. I went all the way the carbs and got the potatoes and rye toast. The breakfast was good and very filling. I didn't finish all the potatoes. There was plenty of sausage in the omelette to give it good flavor. Our server was excellent! He divided the order into 3 checks for us. Paying at the register is very easy as they take apple Pay. Bam, no need to sign and your on your way! A good spot to stop for breakfast even if it is out of the way for me.
