I've recently moved to Natomas less than 1 year ago and been searching for a groomer for my mini poodle. I used another "big box" groomers and they just couldn't get it right, his ears weren't plucked and clean inside (a MUST for poodles) and they were cut uneven with too much cut from the back that they don't lay correctly like long bell ears should. After carefully reading reviews, I booked his appt. with Wagger's. Today I took him in and WOW! The groomer I met with took the time to get to know him, pick him up, pet him, look him over, listened to tips on his behavior and what works to calm him, and looked at his previous photos of what I expected. Needless to say my expectations were by far exceeded when I picked him up. He looks like a poodle again from his top knot to his pompom tail with clean plucked ears. His bell ears are a work in progress, but I know I have him at the right place and will definitely be bringing him back for all of his future grooming needs. read more

They are hiring inexperienced people that do not know how to evenly cut nor do they know how to style a poodle. I've been bringing my 2 standards here for almost a year and it's gone terribly down hill the last few visits. EVERY 6 weeks I leave unhappy. Today was the last straw. I walked in to my dogs howling which is not normal. She brings them to me saying "they were in separate kennels all this time that's why she kept barking!" why would my dogs be separated for 3 hours and why do they look completely different like 2 separate untrained people are cutting them and one had a cut around her butt that turned into an infection. I've cancelled the rest of the year ( we go every 6 weeks) and will start to look for someone else. My dogs mean everything to me and these people don't care about animals. 0/10 do NOT recommend. read more

My boyfriend and I moved to Sacramento recently together after just having a baby. So you know, we're new to the area and we have to find a new dog groomer. We were recommended Waggers by multiple people. So we take her to her check in at 2pm. Everything seems good and the people seem nice. Shelby comes out and asks us how short we want pipers hair and of course she's a mini Australian Shepard and has a double coat so we go with the 2nd to long one and explain how the only place only shaved her paws, to clean up the poop shoot really well, and to get chest trimmed down and we'll as her stomach because her fur was touching the floor.we let them know to not cut off her double coat. Fast forward to picking her up they called me and said " idk if you got my message but pipers ready" and I replied with "oh no I'm sorry I didn't get it" and they replied with " well she's been ready for 20 minutes" rudely like okay? Maybe if you called me to let me know she was ready that would have been fine especially since we told them that we weren't going anything. So we get to the store and pick up piper and I don't even want to take her outside to the car because I knew my bf was going to be furious. They shaved her! She was completely shaven. Didn't get a trim and took off her top coat. I wanted to cry. And now her fur might grow in weird so we have to wait and see I'm hoping he's not mad at me forever the first photo is what we wanted and what she usually gets and the other 2 are what they did and completely disregarded when we said DO NOT TAKE HER TOP COAT OFF. After moving from East Sacramento to Natomas, I was looking for a new doggie groomer for my pooch. I had tried a number of groomers in East Sac who were inconsistent where I would have to cross my fingers and hope that Maia walked out looking fierce rather than funky. There aren't many options in Natomas and as Wagger's had a high rating, I decided to book an appointment. For first time clients, they ask that you bring your pet's up to date records from your vet to make sure that your pup won't bring in any diseases or fleas. In all of my previous experiences with different groomers, I had never been asked for vet records but now looking back, I can't think of taking Maia to a groomer that doesn't ask for them. It seems so trivial but it shows how concerned Wagger's is about the pups that go in and out of their doors. I brought Maia in and talked with the groomer about how I wanted her groomed. The package includes 2 shampoos, conditioner, nail trim, and an ear cleaning and left her absolutely beautiful! The products they use on her are top of the line and keep her fur so soft that she feels more like a luxe plush doll than a dog. Unlike other groomers that shove the dogs in crates and have them wait until they are ready to groom them, the dogs are taken back and spend the entire time on the table rather than the crate. As soon as your pooch is ready to be picked up, they give you a call and you can pick them up which takes about an hour. The wash and groom will set you back $50 before tip which the only reason I gave it a 4/5. If the total after tip was $50, I'd be able to stomach the cost but as it is a bit pricey, she only gets to go to Waggers a couple of times a year. However, each time I walk out completely satisfied with my decision. A must go for anyone in the area (especially if you have some extra walking around money)! read more

I think this place is great. They carry Taste of the Wild, which is a really great dog food brand, but it's not always in stock, which is a bummer. Their grooming prices are really reasonable, and they only hold on to your dog for about 90 minutes. The only reason they didn't get 5 stars from me is because I've had a couple people tell me they've had their pups emerge with a nick or a cut after grooming, but I have never found this to be true for my dog. Very nice and informative people there. I really like the set up. Simple store with simple products. I don't have to walk down aisles and aisles of products trying to figure out what to buy. There was even a holistic vet there on site that was able to answer questions about my puppy. My 6 month old shih tzu has been irregular and for the past five days and his stool has been very soft. The vet suggested that I feed him boiled chicken and rice for now to settle his stomach and the store clerk suggested a canned pumpkin food supplement. I can't wait to try it out tonight to see how it works! I don't think this place is expensive at all. i know people say holistic foods are more expensive but when I compare how much I spend on food for myself and how much I spend on my dog, it doesn't even compare.
