I brought my 2 year old lab here. She is very very active and super friendly. Petsmart would not bathe her because she gives them a hard time but when I brought her here, I told them that my dog needs a lot of TLC before she will let them shower her. Overall they accepted to shower her, she let them do their job but I'm sure she up a fight. The reason I give only 4 starts is because they charged me $60 which caught me off guard. I've come to Wagger for all my four-legged kids necessities since they opened in 2007. I have only had one negative experience but really it was more because I was in a b----y mood. I thought they just wanted to give me a hard time when I dropped my boy off for his 2nd grooming there and they called me back 20mins later saying that they could not groom him because they found a cyst on his back. I immediately got iraz and told them that this was his 2nd time there and they had no issues with it before. They advised me that this time they're not able to work with it because it was seeping or had burst. I admit, I was probably irrational at the time. I later realized that they were just looking out for us. That was years ago and I still continued to go there since. We even moved away for about 2 years but they still remembered us. I don't know why its taken me so long to review Wagger but better late then never right? Wagger is a cute Pet boutique. Clean grooming facilities and excellent customer service. Like I said, they still remembered me after 2 years of being M.I.A. but what really touched me was the fact that they really pay attention to small details. Last week we were browsing the shop contemplating on switching the brand we currently feed "the kids". Diedra was there, as usual, to help answer any questions we had. . The hubby and I pretty much decided to try this one brand when luckily she happened to remember that we have ALWAYS fed our kids grain free. Even WE didn't remember that! Somehow she has remember every brand we have ever fed the kids. On top of that she remembered that Mikana has had a history to food allergies. After she opened our eyes to this, we decided against switching. She is always so knowledgable and I remember a few years back when we had our first kids, we were on a certain brand (also suggested by her) one day she updated us on some information on the brand, apparently they were beginning to change a few ingredients in their food and also were about to move forward into big commercial stores. she informed us of the change in their recipes advised us on the possible affect in the integrity of the product once it his major retailers. Not long after her warnings and after this brand hit major retail shelves, one of my kids began getting food allergies. Needless to say, we trust her opinion. We could easily go to a Petco or Petsmart or any other retailer with more locations or more convenient hours. We choose to continue coming here because we love supporting local businesses, love that the owners are very involved and take pride in their business, they sell top notch products, excellent customer service and on top of all of that WE LOVE KYLIE AND JOLIE (their kids) read more

A friend refer us this place for our little Coker Spanield and we have been taking her for a while now. The ladies are very caring and their customer service is great. They phone you the night before to remind you of your appointment and you can tell they love animals. I am grateful to find this place because I know I am leaving Sandy in good hands. I live 1/4 of a mile from Pet Smart in Rancho Cordova but I make the drive to Wagger Pet Spa twice a month to pick up food for my Ragdoll cat. The staff/owners of Wagger Pet Spa are some of the most pleasant, informed, and caring people I have ever met. They always let me know when there are coupons available for my particular brand of food and are always happy to tell me about new products. The owners are quick to offer referrals and are willing to help you find local breeders. I am always greeted within seconds of setting foot into the store. I am always treated in a friendly and familiar manner. I'm not sure if the ladies remember my name but they certainly remember my cat! NOTE: If you don't care much about what you feed your pet and go for the cheapest can on the shelf at your local grocery store or pet super store you may be shocked by the price of quality pet food. It's hard to find a place that can cut my little Shih tzu's hair right. Most of the time she comes back shaved and looking like a rat. No matter how much I comb my baby when she plays with my other puppy she always gets mats in her hair. I try to cut her mats out before taking her to groomers each time but they always send her back shaved. She came back looking so cute and happy! I made an appointment two weeks in advance to have my puppy (Miniature Schnauzer) professionally groomed for the first time. I researched and "Yelp'd" for many days until I found a groomer which I felt (at the time) was a compassionate animal lover... Boy, was I so wrong!. What should've been a routine visit definitely became a nightmare. I arrived at Wagger's Pet Spa on 6/29/2014 for the grooming appointment and was greeted by the owner and the groomer. I handed over my puppy to the groomer and proceeded to fill-in the drop-off card that was handed to me. I filled in the requested information, which included instructions on how I wanted him groomed. After I was done checking my puppy in, I proceeded to run my usual Sunday errands. I received a call approximately an hour and a half later informing me that he was ready to go home. Everything was fine up until this point... I was in a bit of shock when I saw his new cut. They either failed to follow my instructions or lost the card because they gave him an equal length buzz-cut over his entire coat. I shook it off and reminded myself that "it's only hair, it'll grow back" and that there must've been some miscommunication between both parties. I went ahead and scheduled another appointment six weeks in advance. Paid the nice lady (at the time) and left the grooming facility. It wasn't until I got home that I realized something was horribly wrong... I noticed that his Sclera (the white part of the eyes) was red. I brought him back to Wagger's and spoke to the lady about what may have happened during the grooming. To my surprise, she immediately became defensive and said that there is no way anything they did while grooming him caused the injury. The owner stated that she was 99% sure that it had nothing to do with them. I told her that my puppy gets daily eye-drops (Opthamologist prescribed) and that I pay very close attention to his eyes on a daily basis. I told her that I did not expect her to take full responsibility, nor was I asking for any sort of compensation or a refund. I just wanted to know what may have happened so that I could relay this to my the vet and eye specialist. She firmly and adamantly stated the she was 99% sure nothing happened here and that I was wrongly accusing her. I told her that I was going to take my puppy to the vet for a second opinion and offered for her to come along with me for the exam. She refused and told me that she would only be willing to take MY puppy to her vet of choice. That's when I decided that the conversation wasn't getting anywhere and called my vet for an emergency office exam. The vet conclusion was that my puppy was severely strangled which resulted in rupturing of the capillaries. The vet said that she has seen this happen before because of rough handling during grooming but also mentioned that this was definitely the worst case she has seen. The vet found bruising around my puppy's neck and a cut paw-pad. I was given a few meds to take home and advised to return if his condition did not improve. The next morning I made another emergency visit because what started out as a small bloody patch (about the size of half a sunflower seed) became a completely bloody looking eye with no white present. Basically looks like he has a black-eye. It turns out that the blood vessels in his Sclera did not stop bleeding overnight. He began having severe diarrhea because of the stress. He is currently still undergoing treatment and monitoring. Apparently excessive fluid build-up as a result of severe strangulation is currently a huge concern of the vet. He may loose partial vision due to nerve damage because of the excess pressure in his eyes. The vet was so upset that she called the groomer to address what happened. The groomer has tried to reimburse me (which I refused) for the vet visit but is unwilling to assist in future exams because she doesn't feel that they are responsible for his recovery. She also stated that she was unwilling to pay for future doctor visits because she feels that my puppy had a pre-existing eye condition (corneal edema). My puppy has seen an Opthamologist regarding the edema and has given him an eye CERF stating that it's just an aesthetic abnormality. I'm really upset because strangulation IS NOT a pre-existing condition. My puppy was strangled so badly that the blood vessels in his eyes ruptured!. He's only a 10 pound puppy!. I'd love some help in making it known that Wagger's Pet Spa, Sacramento, CA is not a reputable company. They are a cruel and abusive facility that does not put animals or customers first. They should not be allowed to continue doing business and should face criminal charges for animal abuse and cruelty. I need help to assure that they are not going to do this to another pet/animal. read more

From my first visit the owner whom I met that day was super helpful with helping me choose my dogs needs. On my third visit I asked to have my girl Mia to be groomed and it just so happens there was a cancellation and they were able to take my girl at that moment. I told the groomer she can be aggressive and its her first time being groomed outside of her mama. When I picked her up her rambunctious self was depleted. She kept herself in her crate and slowly but surely coming out of itw trrty the groomer did to My baby. It seemed as though she did not take the time to earn my baby's trust. Never will I consider them as a groomer for my babies. I will keep coming to purchase my babies needs here because that's the one thing I feel confident about, they offer the best for your baby in terms of products. I will never bring my baby back here for grooming. She was left traumatized. read more

I have taken my Little Man here twice for grooming. I have also taken him once for a self wash. He has come out smelling nice and clean with a bandana around his neck (after the grooming). The staff are nice and friendly and will help you with any pet related questions that you may have. I wanted to note that the staff got Little Man in at the last minute during Christmas. I really appreciated that! The self wash process is easy. It's nice to not have to worry about the clean up at home. read more

I took my 12 yo dog there for the first time and I really liked their job. FooFoo is a pretty stubborn old doggy, and he absolutely doesn't like grooming. Because we were waiting for the appointment very long time ( more then 2 months) and he got very fluffy ( he is chow shepherd mix) I was worried how it will go. I am not sure how hard was the the groomers to deal with him but they did absolutely great job. Dog came home perfectly shaved and not too tired or stressed compare to how he was after the previous mobile groomers. I have been going to Waggers for six years and will not take my dog anywhere. My family moved to the other side of town having to travel at least 35 mins to take our dog to them. They have always taken care of my dog. He loves going there, they treat him well, provide excellent customer service, and he always comes out looking extra cute. Since the original review, they went out of their way to make it right, and are making sure the groomer who made the error will be receive the appropriate instruction to avoid the same problem in the future. The staff in Waggers are professional, friendly and they are good with my dog. My Shih Tzu is very stubborn and can be difficult to groom, but they handle him very well. They were really nice and patient! I took my dog in, and they informed me that since my puppy is a wiggler, they will be spending extra time with him to train him and to make him comfortable. After hearing good reviews about this place on the NextDoor app, I decided to give it a go. Went in on a Friday and asked how much it would be. I proceeded to ask if there was any availability that same day and there wasn't. The next availability they had was on Sunday. So I booked the appointment. The front desk woman so super friendly and kind. She informed me to bring my dogs shot records on Sunday when I dropped her off. Come Sunday, I was greeted by both the front desk lady and I assume a groomer. I told them I was here for an appointment and they went to go grab our groomer. Her name was Tiffany. She was really friendly and listened to me regarding how I wanted her to trim my dog just a little. 2 hours later pass and I go pick up my dog. She smells amazing and looks so happy! I am so glad I found this place. I got my dog back in November, and he is a rescue. I have had a lot of hesitations with taking him to a groomers. I started looking at different reviews and calling around. WAGGER'S seemed to be the best and I am glad I decided to get him groomed here. I always have my Corgi groomed at Wagger and they do a wonderful job. I'm embarrassed when I take her in; her white is grey and her undercoat is falling out in tufts. We just moved to the area and are so pleased to have found Wagger's Pet Spa to groom our Standard Poodle. The conversation we had when I stopped to see their establishment made me feel comfortable to make an appointment for Bella's grooming. The store is very clean and provides a very friendly environment between the staff and the well behaved dogs that you can love when making a visit. They also have a nice variety of food, treats and toys. As informed when I made the appointment Bella's "do" was done within two hours, impressive after the last two groomer we had taken her to would take up to 6 hours causing our dog to be stressed at the end of her visit. When we picked her up from Wagger's she was in a great mood and did not show a bit of stress, it was the best grooming that Bella has ever walked away with. I am very pleased with Wagger's grooming services! My dog Chanel is a senior dog with arthritis, and I was a bit worried about how she would be handled. This past April, I took my dog to get his regular grooming. He came out with an injury to his eye. When I confronted the owner, she denied any wrong doing. After a visit to the vet, I found out he had a very large cut in his cornea. It took my dog 2 weeks to recover with twice daily medications. I was extremely mad at waggers for the handling of the situation. In the end, after many conversations with the owner, she agreed that she could've handled it better and refunded my vet fees. I was convinced she had learned her lesson but seeing these recent reviews, I'm compelled to tell my story so people can make an informed decision as to who they allow to service their family member. read more
