I really cannot say enough about this place! I brought my dog, Ricky, here because he had such terrible separation anxiety that he was busting out of crates (even indestructible ones) and hurting himself. His behavior had become totally unmanageable and I was very worried he was doing to be seriously hurt or worse. Also, he is so so so so fast (keeps up with the greyhounds at dog parks), so I could never give him the exercise he needs (no human can run that fast except Usain Bolt). Anyway, I was pretty freaked out and wasn't sure if I could continue to provide a home for Ricky, since I have to go to work and leave him alone. I saw an ad for Nashville K9 at my vet and called. Ali called me back within an hour or two, and we talked about the problems I was having with Ricky. After listening to all of the problems I was having, he explained the way they train dogs at Nashville K9 (you should call; they can explain it better than I can), and he sounded confident he could help my little buddy. I dropped Ricky off for 4 weeks (you can do 2 or 4 weeks, but I HIGHLY recommend doing all 4 if your dog has issues-- plus they send you TONS of super high quality photos and video so you do miss your little guy so terribly), and I cannot even describe the turn around. When I went to pick up Ricky, I trained with Damon for about 2 hours, so they taught ME how to continue the training. They also demonstrated all that Ricky could do. For example, my incredible skittish, super-fast hound mutt can sit and/or lay down from a distance of about 150 feet (seriously)! And can do it with distractions (the trainer running between Ricky and me). They also taught him how to use an agility course, which is amazing! Also, Ricky is doing fine in the crate, which in and of itself means mission accomplished. However, instead of just masking the problem by forcing the dog to do what I want, they trained Ricky to not mind the crate. And like I mentioned above, Ricky is incredibly obedient, not because he has to be, but because he wants to be. It's really amazing. He is so calm and comfortable; it is like a new dog. And now that he is under better control (e.g., off-leash control), I can help Ricky get the exercise he needs to wear him out properly. Again, I really cannot say enough great things about Nashville K9. They will listen to you, and make a unique training plan for your dog based on your needs. The price might seem high at first, but trust me, you are not over-paying, considering they are boarding AND training your dog. They dogs not only get training twice a day, but they get let out to play with the other dogs too, and get TONS of love from the trainers. I almost felt bad bringing Ricky home :P

Nashville K-9 is SIMPLY THE BEST!!! I am sure you are reading so many reviews researching where to send your dog trying to compare options for your most prized possession. I LOVE my animals just like my kids. We sent our dog here for the 2-week training program. I toured their facility and wow it was impeccable, so clean you could eat off the floors with multiple mock rooms for home simulations to teach the dogs. The plexiglass kennels were so spacious, so you don't have to worry about small cages or dirty kennels. Our old English bulldog is 4 years old and has struggled with following commands, jumping on guests, and was viscous with other dogs. With the techniques my dog Armani learned at Nashville K-9 from Ali and his ROCKSTAR team he is a changed dog. He still has the awesome personality he had before training but now he listens to commands and is able to walk on a leash in the community. His listening skills are 1000% improved. He listens so well now that even my 7 and 12-year-old kids can work with him on his new skills at home. The huge training floor allowed him to also learn jumping and walking obediently on the top of the line equipment which exceeded my expectations. Being such an attached owner; I really struggled with leaving Armani, but Ali and his team sent us so many pictures, videos, and emails showing his progress throughout each week to help us cope with the absence in our home. They genuinely care about your dog and understand the void it causes to a family. I chose Nashville K-9 because when I learned about their stellar program, I loved that they give a 2-hour training for the owners that we would get to learn how to keep his new skills. Raine did our 2-hour training on his last day and she was so knowledgeable and spent so much time making sure we learned correctly. She even gave us local recommendations supporting the community, shared a training collar and clicker recommendation that works well for Armani. They even have a store you can shop from to offer you convenience with the best products. Armani adored his trainers I loved so many things about this place but one of my favorites was that they teach the animals with positive affirmations and don't use shock collars like some facilities I was researching. My kids were so scared our dog wouldn't come home with the same awesome personality he left with and they assured us he would. They were SO RIGHT! The coachfido.com website is awesome too for continued reinforcement and we have even tried a few new tricks to teach Armani since he has been home. I can't rave enough about this facility and waited a couple weeks to write this because I wanted to see how all the new skills would transfer when he got home. SEAMLESSLY!!! He doesn't even jump on the UPS drivers now. I don't usually write reviews, but this place has a special place in my heart for a VERY LONG TIME!!! Thank You Nashville K-9 for all you have done for Armani and our family!

I was completely lost before meeting Ali and team at Nashville K9. I had seen every Nashville dog trainer with no success and was confused with the differing opinions of how to handle my dog Iswell. Iswell is a rescue who is a mix of Pit, Boxer, Red Heeler. Iswell has been loved since the day I got him at 2 months old. I did everything everyone was telling me to do. Fed him grain free, socialize him as much as possible, get him around kids, sign him up for obedience classes (2 graduations of success) etc. So I did all of those things to set my pups up for success in the big world. At around a year, Iswell started changing. He would start getting into quarrels at the dog park, lunge at walkers who walked by us and bark continuously at friends who would come over to our house. I was frustrated. Here I had done everything I was "suppose" to do with absolutely no luck. I started signing up for every dog trainer in Nashville. I never left knowing how to handle my dog but left with their opinion of what was wrong with him. Nashville K9 was my last hope. I called and Ali answered. He's a straight shooter and told me exactly what I was doing wrong as the owner. "I don't even to ask because I know your dog sleeps with you and he isn't crated". Wow! How did he know? Ha! I was creating anxiety for my dog without even knowing it. What an awful mother, right? I had to meet this guy and see what Nashville K9 was all about. I packed up Iswell in the car and drove to see the place. It is gated and is maintained to perfection. Even has an outdoor pool! Ali was a great host and showed Iswell and me around the place. Iswell was on edge and wasn't the friendliest to Ali but I knew this is the sort of training he needed. Someone who could break his bad behaviors away from home, give him confidence and then show me how to transition it into our home. I signed him up immediately and Ali was able to get him in sooner than what I wanted. Iswell attended the 4 week board/train program. During his stay, I received 2 weekly emails with a vast number of photos showing off what Iswell had been learning. I would wait on those days so excited to see what Iswell was learning. Damon, trainer at Nashville K9, would send the emails and give you a sentence or two of his progression. I knew Iswell was in good hands. Agility, obedience, socialization were all included in these photos ( I will attach a few for reference). Fast forward to 4 weeks later when I picked up my pups. This sounds crazy to say but I barely recognized him at first. He had gained this whole new confidence I hadn't seen before. He seemed so happy but eager to show off everything he learned. The sweetest woman (I can't remember her name but had trained Iswell) met with me for 3 hours to explain Iswell's new plan. It was extremely detailed. Trainings, one on one time, crate time, potty time and eating schedule. They reminded me of how vital it was to keep to this schedule to help Iswell transition into the home with his new gained knowledge and confidence. I would recommend anyone to take their dog to Nashville K9. The trainers truly care about each dog and ensure they are set up with all the commands/tools they need to build confidence. Iswell is more calm and thinks before he makes a move. He looks at me for guidance. So grateful and will definitely send him for brush up sessions in the future.

Trey has been my dog groomer for over three years now, and he is truly just the best around: incredible groomer, magician with nervy dogs, and just all around kind human. When he moved to Camp Bow Wow earlier this year, it was a no brainer to follow him. He's one of the most reasonably priced groomers in the area and does an incredible job with all sorts of dogs. My dog genuinely loathes bathes and is overall a nervous dog around other dogs. Trey puts him at ease and he comes wagging his tail every time he seems him, even though he knows he's getting a bath. His nails are always filed down and maintained well and he smells so delightful after a groom with adorable fluffy fur! The facility is super clean and I appreciate the dogs are separated for grooming and have their own crates while being groomed. When my dog got skunked when I was out of town last year, for no extra charge, Trey worked his magic and in a couple of visits the smell was almost gone. True miracle worker and I'm so grateful we found him, as it takes a huge headache out of my life and helps me to know I'm always leaving my baby for a few hours with someone I trust. There's a dedicated parking lot for customers and I appreciate that staff is on top of making sure any dog who comes here is up to date on shots/vaccinations. Even though I don't use the day camp services the staff at the front desk are incredibly kind and welcoming to me and my pup and give him little treats and hugs every time we come in. It's a wonderful and welcoming experience and I can't recommend getting your fur child groomed here with Trey enough!

Instead, I was called back within about 10 minutes and told that he had "failed" because he was "too nervous." This was his very first time at the facility. He's a puppy in a completely new environment, surrounded by unfamiliar people, sounds, and dogs. Expecting him to immediately jump into the group and be perfectly comfortable within minutes seems unrealistic. He wasn't being aggressive, reactive, or causing any problems. From what I saw watching the camera in the waiting room, he was simply sitting off to the side and taking time to adjust the new environment. What upset me most was that he was not given a fair opportunity. A puppy who is understandably nervous in a new environment deserves patience, guidance, and time to acclimate--not a failure after 10 minutes. Had I known the evaluation consisted of only a few minutes to prove himself, I would have had very different expectations. I understand the importance of maintaining a safe environment for all dogs, but I left feeling that my puppy was judged before he was ever given a real chance. Unfortunately, this experience did not reflect the welcoming, supportive environment I was expecting from a daycare that works with dogs of all ages and temperaments.

Lauren got her sitting in a session. All in all I think we had 9 sessions with Lauren. In that time we learned a lot and have been applying it. My relationship with my dog is so much better because of Instinct. The thing I will caution people against is having unrealistic expectations of your dog and the trainer. If you go in with the desire to make your dog a unquestioningly obedient robot then you will be disappointed. Just focus on the over all quality and happiness of your dog's life

Jenna helped us overcome all of this and we could not be more grateful. She coached us on how to slowly warm him up to lots of different scenarios- we even had a playdate with another dog today with no issues! His reactivity will be something we'll continue to work on for months, but I can't tell you how relieved we are to have gained some confidence with it. Jenna really helped put things into perspective and helped us understand how to read our dog and take things at his pace. You really can't rush progress like this, and I love that Instinct doesn't promise "quick, fast, easy results" because those are not effective or even possible. We would absolutely do this again if given the chance, booking with Instinct was a game changer.

I started seriously questioning returning our puppy because I had ZERO left in me to tolerate her. To make a long story short, we researched dog trainers and were impressed with the amount of positive reviews we read on The Dog Wizard and decided to give the private training sessions a shot. Tate was our trainer and he was heaven sent. I appreciated how he took the time to listen to our individual problems with our pup and never once made me feel like the most clueless dog owner (which I can admit to being at one point). In our sessions I learned an immense amount about how my puppy was interpreting my actions and different methods to try on her. Our sessions were part education and part action. We would apply the newly learned method with the pup until it clicked. Getting a dog trainer does not mean that you are off the hook after he/she leaves. The only way to get your the training methods to stick are to continue to practice them every day. It's a great way to hold you accountable until the next session.
