I have spent years visiting all 57 New Jersey wineries and Wagonhouse is one of my favorites! The wines are delicious and the staff is amazing. Every question I have ever had about the many wines they have has been answered with suggestions for pairings and even with ideas about other ways to enjoy their offerings. One that I will share is the addition of any of their delicious cream wines with coffee ... an absolute home run!!! Decided to drop in for some wine tastings to celebrate a girls day out. It wasn't packed, but it was a nice size amount of people there. The tasting room is pretty spacious but cozy, and they have a huge book collection on shelves in the back. Our server name was Anna I believe, she was a young woman preparing for college (Good Luck to you!!). She suggested the type of tasting we should do and we went with her suggestions. We did the tasting of all the sweet wines they offered. She was able to literally describe every type of wine to us, and even helped with a setting to imagine while drinking it! Quaint venue! We sat at the tasting bar. Took a few minutes to be greeted, but it was due to serving other customers with full attention. Staff was very attentive, friendly, helpful! Nice wine menu, but are out of at least three of their reds. We were told those three would be out until 2022 vintage released in spring of 2024. This winery was one of the three featured NJ wineries on the Two Bridges Wine Trail LivingSocial deal recently offered ($29 for wine tasting for two at three wineries on the trail). I loved the atmosphere of this winery with its cozy couches and chairs surrounded by tall bookshelves, rustic decor, and an enormous shuffleboard game --- all that's missing is a fireplace! There's even a friendly cat that will snuggle with you (but the owners are quick to grab her away if she is disruptive!). It's a great place for an afternoon date, but they also had no problem accommodating our large group of 10 women on a Saturday afternoon. Service was friendly and our samples were brought out at a good pace --- quick enough that we didn't have awkward wineless gaps, but not so fast that we couldn't enjoy our snacks and company. As for the wines, they have some standard whites/reds, but it's the sweet wines at Wagonhouse that really stand out. (That being said, if you're not a sweet wine person, it may not be the place for you.) Our tasting originally include the top 8 wines in the shop (a mix of dry and sweet), but we were fascinated by so many of the sweets that we wound up adding 8 more samples (for $5 per person) to try the rest of them. My favorite was the Shore Thing, a peach wine with mango and coconut flavors. I also enjoyed the autumn goddess, which is a blend of apple, pumpkin, and fall spices. Also unique to Wagonhouse is their cream wines, which taste more like Bailey's than wine. I'm not sure I would want to drink it plain, but I could see it being a tasty addition to coffee or hot chocolate. Finding a nice way to spend an hour or so on a hot Sunday afternoon is as close as Wagonhouse Winery. We've been to a few wineries in the area and the wines at Wagonhouse are some of the best we've sampled. The usual selection of reds and whites are available. All are produced in stainless steel and are pretty tasty. If your looking for a great "shore wine" try the Shore Thing. Very refreshing. We also discovered Nutty Quaker! A great desert wine with chocolate, coconut and coffee flavors. They say to try it on ice cream or chilled. Delicious. The atmosphere of the winery itself is comfortable and eclectic. Great way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon. My friend purchased a tasting on Groupon, and we went a day before her birthday. We ordered two flights of the sweet wine, and she ordered a crème de la crème flight. The sweet wines were good. Personally Daisy-Grace was my favorite; my friend enjoyed Daisy-Grace too, as well as Sundance. In regards to the crème wines, once again my favorite was Daisy-Grace crème. My friend, who tried the crème flight was torn between Autumn Goddess crème and Shore Thing crème. She ultimately decided Shore Thing crème was her favorite. Just like other industries they're dealing with staff shortages. Please be patient! The ladies are doing the best, and they were really nice. It's a family owned winery. I highly recommend making a reservation; just to give the staff a heads up of your party size. Unfortunately due to the staff shortages their kitchen was closed. I wish we would have known this, so we could have asked if it would have been okay to BYOF. They did offer complementary French bread, but only one loaf. We order another (if drinking the crème, BREAD is definitely needed); however, at $12 a loaf that was an unexpected pricey item. All-in-all I would recommend this winery. I've ventured over to Wagonhouse twice and I love the coziness of this winery. They even have a cat that snuggles up on the couch and pretty much doesn't move, lol. Drunk kitty in the house. Back to the wine: both the dry and sweet wine tastings are pretty good. I'm not a wine snob but if I had a choice I would stick with a sweeter wine. Food??? There aren't any full entree meals but they do have a pretty good list of small bites, cheeses, dips, pretzels and chocolate snacks. Def worth a visit for a low key type of day. Sunday funday? Love their Three Boys Brand with probably Kick in the Glass and Shore Thing being my faves. I had made a reservation for about 6 of us to do a tasting and when I got there, they were nice enough to put us in their private room. The room was cozy and spacious. The rest of the winery had an at home feel. We were split so 1/2 of us had dry and 1/2 had sweet. We had a great time there, and our girl that we had as our wine guide was great! My boyfriend and I stopped in yesterday as part of a Living Social deal. In all, it was a pretty nice experience, though I would have to recommend Heritage (in Mullica Hill) over Wagonhouse in terms of wine quality! Pros: -The ladies serving us were nice, and explained what each wine would taste like, which was helpful. -The tasting room was homey. -The truffle was pretty good. -Sweet Love wine! Yum. Cons: -The cheese just wasn't good -- at all. Some cheddar would have been nice. Though, the crackers were pretty bland, too. I left it up to my boyfriend to consume the cheese, which was sad since I usually LOVE cheese. -Service was quite slow/disjointed. I understand it was a busy Saturday, but at times, I really felt like I was in the way, which isn't the vibe anyone wants while on a relaxing wine trip. -Usually I like more wines when I'm at a vineyard. Here, I honestly would've preferred to just taste the Sweet Love over and over. With that said, I'd go back with a picnic. Now that I've tasted what they offer, I know I'd purchase a glass of Sweet Love. Wagonhouse is constantly running deals on Living Social . Recently I purchased the wine and cheese tasting for two plus two souvenir wineglasses for $17, originally a $35 value. I love wine tastings, and this wasn't a bad deal at all. I decided to use my Living Social Deal on a Saturday, so I called ahead to make reservations. The people were a pleasure to work with and very flexible. The location was a little hard to find, as the vineyards are located behind the building so you don't see them for the main road. There is a dirt parking lot back there as well, not good for when it rains- very muddy! The vineyards were not in bloom when I was there, but they seemed pretty big. The actual tasting room was beautiful and very well decorated. We were greeted as soon as we walked in, luckily we had made a reservation, it was packed in there. We witnessed a few walk-ins being turned away. We were seated at a small table for two which was perfect. Our souvenir wineglasses were given to us right away, nicely packaged in a gift bag. The staff brought us our cheese tray which contained two different piles of cheeses, wine crackers, and two chocolates. They also provided us with a list of about 17 different wines, each of which we got to eventually taste. The staff was knowledgeable about their wines, and did a great job attending to us. The individual tastings are on the small side, but you do get 17 which is a lot! My personal favorite was the strawberry dessert wine. I ended up buying a bottle and it was reasonably priced, about $20. They also have a spicy wine- something I have never heard of. This is an optional tasting, of course I had to try it! It really had a kick to it and I had to chase it down with water. Wagonhouse Winery was a great place for a small party, but they also had a few options for bigger parities, larger tables and couches. I am defiantly interested in going back with a larger group of people and when the vineyards are in bloom! read more

Cozy place. Took awhile to find to front entrance but a friendly kitty kept me occupied until I found. It was Sunday early afternoon and there was about four other patrons there. We decided to do the sweet wine tasting ($10 per person $17 for all 27 wines). It was our server's first day so I won't be hard on her. She was very sweet. She took her time but knew all the wine descriptions. We also ordered stuffed pretzels as appetizers. They were okay nothing spectacular. In general the wines were ok again nothing spectacular. One of the sweet wines tasted like a bloody mary definitely interesting but not my style. We usually ended up buying a bottle to take home but unfortunately we did not this time. Cute place though! Absolutely amazing! April was great and knew her wines very well. I dont know why people were so negative on their reviews. I dont have one negative thing to say about them. We did the Groupon which includes 11 sips of wine each person and a goody bag which includes 2 wine glasses and some stoppers. For $8 more a head you can upgrade which is 27 sips of different wines. You can make your own cheese and meat board which is fantastic with all the different flavors you are tasting. I ended up getting a heavier serving of some of my favorites. 've had the pleasure of visiting this winery multiple times. I've run the Napa gamut and also been around wineries in Italia. Wagonhouse stands up with the big boys. They have enough wines to fit any palate and the family that runs it is so sweet and humble. I've been there when they had Santa in the building right before the holidays and the guy looked legit. It's a great place to have a bunch of cheeses and some crackers and go through a few bottles on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. The other great thing about them is that you can have events there. We had my goddaughters christening party there and it was BEAUTIFUL. Worth a stop and worth a look for an event. Easy to get to on a main artery between Woodstown and Mullica Hill. Great to hit up after antiquing in Salem and Mullica Hill to reward yourself with a glass (or few glasses) of wine. read more

We love this place. We fell in love with this place with a wine tasting , we received such cute wine glasses and a beautiful rustic ceramic logo mug. About 2 weekends before this trip we had a birthday party here for my boyfriends mother , the service was outstanding. The atmosphere is beautiful&its very cozy and no matter which wine we ever try , we fall in love with it. Now after about 6 months of coming here so far ( we always make it a point to stop here on the way back from my brothers house in Woodstown Nj, we've forced that this is the best Winery we've ever been too . Heather and her husband are very friendly and helpful and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and at home there , the staff is wonderful and ALL their wines are priced just as good as anywhere else if not even cheaper . Sometimes we come out here, about 24 min away because it's worth taken a ride here , as we know that we're going to get some wonderful wine. I'm sorry I can't even recommend a single wine because their all so good , you can't go wrong with any of them. I was just here last week and saw their new Christmas wines that we will be trying this weekend . If I could give this place a 20 star review I would. Our party made a reservation in advance and when we arrived, we were told they weren't able to accommodate and were told they were understaffed. This was despite having confirmed our reservation ahead of time. While we appreciate that this can happen, they told us to leave almost immediately. Regardless of fault, the delivery of that message was incredibly rude with no attempt to try to resolve the issue at all. It was especially disappointing because it was a reservation for two of our friend's birthdays and we had to pivot almost immediately. If the message had been delivered differently, we would have bought wine and left with no complaint. This comes down to customer service. I would not recommend this establishment. read more

Second time in here, stopped for a wine tasting on a Sunday afternoon. The two of us sat inside on a warm day even though there was a wine tasting out in a tent on the property. Inside is super cute and there were only a few other couples in there. Shuffleboard table and some wine accessories for purchase adorn the tasting room. Wine tastings are a bit higher priced on the weekends than other places ($10 instead of the usual $5), but you get to taste 18 wines! Half of the wines are sweet fruit wine blends, which usually I am NOT a fan of, but really liked these kinds. You HAVE to try the Shore Thing-it's mango, pineapple, and coconut flavored wine and it's incredible. My vote is to try it out on a weekend afternoon and plan to taste all wines! read more

Although service is very very nice, this place was a little disappointing...We came here with a living social deal so I wasn't really expecting a lot of tasting of cheese and stuff, but I really felt like the tasting really lacked. There was only a few measly pieces of cheese on the plate and I didn't even know what cheese it was. I did enjoy the crackers though. I ate it with some honey that our server was so nice in letting us try before purchasing. Now, onto the wine tasting part. Most wine tasting place would provide a bucket and some water to clean the glass out after each wine. This place did not. My party had to use the napkins that was at the table to wipe out the wine that we couldn't get in our mouths. A few times, I forgot to wipe my glass and I could taste the flavors of that wine in the next one. A plus is that they did let us sample 18 different wines, but most of the wines, I felt, were WAY too sweet. I like sweet wines, but this was just overpowering in sweetness. Also, for being a place that makes it's own wine, I felt the price per bottle was very expensive. I don't think I will be back. Other places, I have purchased wine for myself to take home. I purchased none for myself, but my dad wanted some, so I bought him a bottle. I did buy myself a bottle of honey though (lemon walnut honey). This was the worst winery I've been to and the worst service I've gotten sitting at the bar. My mom, her navy friends and I wanted to do a full tasting - it was literally 5 minutes between each wine, we timed it.. One girl claimed "I'm so sorry it's just so busy" but it definitely was NOT. Amalthea and White Horse were much much busier. They need to offer better service and get organized. They offer a QUARTER OZ pour for the full tasting. Yes the full tasting is 21 different wines but that's crap. You can't determine if you like a wine without at least 1 full ounce of wine. And with only 1/4 oz, none of them tasted good at all. Yes, there are vineyards in NJ! Went here with a group on a little wine tasting tour of South Jersey. Wagonhouse Winery's tasting room is lovely. Oh hello shuffleboard! We had a deal to do a wine tasting outdoors under a tent. I enjoyed most of the wines we sampled and chose to take home an Autumn wine. (I might have to try it tonight!) I think this is a nice place to enjoy some local vino on a Saturday night. Make sure you eat dinner before or after. They don't have much food on their menu, just a few nibbles. Let me start with saying, this place is adorable and charming. It has a lot of potential. Now to my review. Very disorganized, poor customer service not enough servers. Everyone around us say after and got water, appetizers and their food first. We asked for two smoothies we got one half of our food came out and not the rest. We have been to the Wagonhouse in the past and had a wonderful time with interactive servers and a great atmosphere, however this time our visit was shocking. We felt terrible for inconveniencing the server as she ate and enjoyed a glass of wine. We were there to enjoy a tasting with the expectation of enjoying a favorite bottle or two after the tasting was finished. The tasting was supposed include 15 wines of sweet or dry wines. Half of our party chose sweet, the other half dry. Getting toward the end we, the sweet drinkers, we're told there were three left when the tasters were told they "were done". When asked why if it was 15 tasting and sweet had three left why was dry done we were advised there were three dries they ran out of. This should have been disclosed ahead of time and alternatives offered. As the "tasting" took on hour and forty minutes, approximately ten minutes between each tasting we were not left with time to select no less enjoy our favorites. The server also seemed to have no knowledge or enthusiasm of the wine she was serving. That said we did have an enjoyable time due to the other patrons and teaching a couple of them to play shuffleboard. Oh... the wines for the most part are really good.... We thought we'd stop by since we had not been to this winery yet. We were not happy with the atmosphere. Mainly because there was a very loud group at a table behind us. There were young people working the bar area they didn't seem to really care if we got waited on or not. I've read the reviews and one in particular stuck out where someone said they visited all the Napa wineries and even many in Italy and this one was better. You need a new travel guide. The wines were not stand out. The new Merlot was the best out of the four that we tried. I don't know that we will revisit this winery. read more

One of my co-workers thinks it's hilarious that all of my weekend stories begin with, "So I got this living social deal..." But in truth, that's how I often find gems of good cheap fun for my boyfriend and I - and who doesn't love a good deal, trying new places without the risk? Anyway, this weekend we ventured to Swedesboro to use the cheese and wine tasting deal I'd gotten for Wagonhouse Winery. It was an easy drive from Cherry Hill, and the private lot was well marked and easy to find. When we walked into the tasting room just before 4, the place was packed - nearly every table was taken by folks sampling the delicious wines. Luckily we grabbed a table and someone came by to get us set up, explaining that we'd be sampling lots of their wines. We were brought a cheese plate, which was a bit lame. I'm not sure if it was because it was late in the day, but there were four pieces of nondescript cheese on the plate, together with some oyster crackers and two chocolate truffles. No guidance on what to pair them with, so we just munched in between sips. The tasting room is adorable, but unfortunately very hot, perhaps because of the crowd. It would have been nice to have an outdoor option, too. There was a grand total of EIGHTEEN wines to try. Now that's a LOT. So many, in fact, that some groups seemed to give up before they made it through the list, but not us. We stuck it out, and were rewarded with some gems at the end. First we were given the traditional wines, including a Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. They were ok, but mostly overpriced (more than $20 a bottle) and not too impressive. Where Wagonhouse clearly stands out are the fruit wines, of which there is quite a variety made with apples, peaches, mangoes, blueberries, pomegranate, and even pumpkin (who knew?) Unfortunately, it seems that they're making so many, they aren't really focused on making anything great - however, there are some really good, fun flavors. I bought a bottle of the "Make me Blush," which had cherry and vanilla hints to it, and my boyfriend got "Sweet Love," made with blueberries and pomegranates. I don't think I'd go seek out these wines, but they would make great gifts. My parents would like this place; they don't really like wine. If they are drinking wine it is the sweetest, fruit juiciest, wine they can find. If you are like my parents, you will likely enjoy Wagonhouse Winery. I much prefer dry wines and they only had a couple of dry options. The dries were okay, but I've had cheaper bottles that I enjoyed more. Most of what they produce are "boutique" wines, which are a wine base mixed with other juices and spices. All of these were sickeningly sweet for for my taste. I would be interested in trying more of the boutique wines if they had some dry options. The tasting room was nice, laid back, shuffle board. I could imagine hanging out there often if I lived close by. Staff was friendly, but slow with service at times. I did purchase a bottle and was disappointed to find, after I opened it, that they had given me the wrong bottle of wine. read more

Upon entering we were accosted about if we had a reservation/groupon/living social. However, our customer service experience was marginally better this time since we followed the "rules" and made a reservation online. Which I still don't understand the point of. Granted there are a lot of wines to try (none to my particular taste) but how a tasting can last an hour and half boggles the mind. I could spend a lot of timing rehashing what is my previous review, however enough time was wasted on this winery yesterday afternoon. Decor both inside and outside was very cute. We were seated right away. Every stuff member we encountered was very pleasant. I loved our 'server', she was very outgoing and knowledgeable. Wine - they give you a lot of wines to taste (I think we had 22 or so)! I personally like sweet wines, so I really enjoyed their Three Boys Brand wines. The wine was ok, the staff was the worst. This was one of my stops on a birthday wine tour I put together for my friend and myself. I called ahead first to make a reservation about a month ahead of time and then again to give an exact number of my party a few days before we went. They were busy, which is understandable and could not accommodate us at first. The staff member who came out to tell us that we would have wait to come it was not very hospitable. Maybe it was because we were coming in on a school bus? I am not sure, but we were a group of paying customers regardless of how we came in and we felt they treated us a little poorly. I had to go in after 20 minutes to check if they were ready for us. Being that this is a small place, there was no where for us to wait besides outside on the bus. They continued to tell us that they had called our next stop to let them know we were on our way. This was halfway through our tasting. It felt like they were pushing us out the door. We were on time, they were not ready for us. They should not have kept rushing to get us out the door. The wine tasting was ok. Considering I had just been to Auburn Winery who had given us a decent amount of wine for our tastings, and where we had a very wonderful experience, this was a complete fail on our wine tour. It made our group go from having a wonderful experience to feeling like we were being judged. The staff seemed to go out of their way to make us feel uncomfortable. I think there was only one women who was actually nice and she might have been new. The owners were not any nicer either and their kids were running around in the tasting room. I understand it is a family owned business, but there really shouldn't be children running around wild. I say this because the next winery had kids there as well, but they were sectioned off to the side at a table and not running around wild in the tasting room. I would never go back there again. I did not care for their wines enough to deal with the rudeness. Almost everyone in my group bought at least a bottle of wine to take home and I do not think I heard the staff say thank you or have a nice day to one of them. My one friend still has a living social deal to go back there and her husband refuses to go back with her and told her to take someone else. Stick to Monroeville or Auburn. This is a nice, relaxing place to get together. I had a good time with a couple friends here. We tasted a few wines and played shuffleboard afterward. We had purchased LivingSocial vouchers for a tasting session and I have to say I was somewhat underwhelmed with what we received. I felt like we were rushed through the tasting without any guidance, and our samples were very small. Like a thimblefull, barely enough to taste. If you come here expecting to learn about wine, you will be disappointed. If you already know your wines, you may enjoy yourself. I enjoyed the traditional wines, particularly the Pinot Grigio. On the other hand I found the table wines to be syrupy and unpleasant, but my wife enjoyed the Peach Mango. I would consider going back again because it was overall a nice experience. It should also be mentioned that all of their wines are made on site with local fruits. My final thoughts on this place are that you should make sure you know your wines and have some money to spend. It isn't particularly beginner-friendly but it's a nice place to visit if you're in the area. read more
