Do not recommend their wood trim kits. If you can find it elsewhere buy it there. These 1000+ dollar kits are sub par at best. Wrong lengths, hand cut, cheap material that comes unglued. Buyer beware. read more

From my first phone call to Chip Miller(Owner) to final pick,up everything was done to make this a dream transaction. Wagonmaster should change their name to Wagon Disaster! Chip Miller and his crew might know how to flip a low mileage Jeep Grand Wagoneer but they don't know squat about Wagoneer restoration. Please do not get caught up in the misleading name Wagonmaster like I did. Chip Miller had my 1988 Jeep Grand Wagoneer for 1 1/2 years and when I finally got it back I could not believe what they had done and didn't do according to our agreement. I sent Chip a "To Do List" and referenced his "Renewal List" which is on the Wagonmaster website. There he list items that will be done on all renewals / restorations. That was not the case when they worked on my Wagon. There are several high dollar things that I had done before sending my Wagoneer to him. I had already rebuilt the motor to my specs. I had painted it about 5 yrs. ago and just replaced the radiator and transmission so these items were deducted from his "Renewal" list. The things I wanted done that were not on his list were a "new" wiring harness bumper to bumper, a larger gas tank and all leather seats. Chip and I agreed on a price of $20K with a $10K deposit. After the agreement I added a Holley Sniper fuel injection system at a cost of $3,100.00. Where did things go wrong? After about 3 months I emailed Chip asking for a progress report. He told me nothing had been done and I was in line with the rest of his customers. When I asked "Why did I need to send you my vehicle so soon?" "I could have kept it protected here in NC out of the hot Texas sun". After exchanging a few comments he told me I could have my Wagon shipped back because as he said "I don't need your business". He said he would eat the shipping cost to him which he said was $760.00. The next day I got an apology from him and he assured me they would get to work on my Wagon and I would be very proud of it when I got it back. Like a fool I believed him and left my car there. Things That Were Not Done As Promised on His "Renewal List" 1- The body mounts were not replaced. 2- The aluminum trim, roof rack, hood ornament was not removed and polished or re-chromed. 3- The wheels and center caps were not resurfaced. 4- I was told I would get a new Alpine stereo system. Instead a got a cheaper Kenwood system that doesn't work. They didn't fill out the warranty and send it in so I can't get it fixed. Things That Were Not Done or Done Very Poorly On My "To Do List" 1- I was sent a pic and was told that a new wiring harness was being installed. It was not! Old used wires were only placed under the dash. 2- I didn't get all leather seats as requested. They left the old 1988 pile carpet on the back of the seats that doesn't match the new pile carpet they installed on the floors. They didn't bother to call me and ask it I wanted the seat backs to match carpet they just did it. It looks like sh...! 3- When Mike, Chip's shop foreman asked if I wanted the exterior wood grain panels and trim replaced I said it is on the list. What he didn't tell me that the new wood grain trim was not like the original in looks and installation. Needless to say it is a disaster. Whoever installed this should be fired!! The trim pieces do not fit snug together in the doglegs and the driver's door trim grain is totally different than the rest of the car. When I sent Chip a pic and said this is totally unacceptable, his comment was "This is the way the kits come". When I asked him if he couldn't have open kit boxes to find a match- ing piece for the driver's door, his reply was, no it is what it is. Well that is BS! I called the manufature Team Grand Wagoneer and explained what had happened and they sent a piece at my cost that matched the rest of the car. I will have to pay someone to remove and replace the bad piece but it will look so much better. On more thing Wagon Disaster failed to do as promised! 4- When they removed the aluminum rear window trim they replaced it with and awful replacement part that is wrinkled. They didn't touch up the paint around the trim. 5- I asked that the front grill and frame be replaced with new parts. What I got was another used part that was wrinkled and chipped. When I asked Chip Miller about it he said that was all that was avail- able. BS Chip! Team Grand Wagoneer had the part and they sent it to me at a cost of $495.00. Another Wagon Disaster!! 6- To top it off. Chip Miller told me in an email if I spent $20K he would ship my Wagon back to me free of charge. I spent $23K and he charged me $1000.00 to ship it back. Remember when he said earlier in this he would eat the shipping charges to him of $760.00, well he ended up charging me $1,500.00. Today, my Wagoneer is sitting in the shop because there is a problem with the fuel injection system / electric fuel pump Wagon Disaster installed. Need I Say More? read more

Since my last comment we've still been waiting for a new quarter panel only to notice that all the panels are starting to rust very badly. This was a car that was advertised as rust free. This is definitely not the case. Obviously the extensive rust was just covered up and has now emerged. We only drive the car during the summer and garage it during the winter. Even with that care, the car simply is not holding up. Maybe this dealer started his business selling rust free Wagoneers, but this is definitely not the case now. read more

I bought a 1983 Wagoneer from Chip and Leon in January 2012. I meant to buy it as a second car, but now I cannot stand to drive anything but my Jeep. I live in South Beach, land of the Lamborghini and Ferrari, and my Woody turns more heads, and receives more compliments (especially from Valet's, who see EVERYTHING) than any other car in Miami. Chip and Leon have been beyond amazing through the whole process. They have gone to every trouble to ensure my happiness over and over throughout the purchase and ownership process. I even had a window come off track a month after I bought it, and they fed-ex'd me the part JUST IN CASE my local guy didn't have it! The car is so perfect, and I am obsessed with it. It was without a doubt the best purchase of my life. If you want to take the stress out of buying an antique or older car, go with Wagonmaster! It looks like it just came off the line at AMC in 1983. It even smells like the one we had when I was a kid. By the way...I now have a 2010 Audi A5 for sale, hardly driven since my Woody got here! By the way...I bought it sight-unseen, and I can say with confidence, Wagonmaster is the only way to go. You never know WHAT you are getting with Ebay or private sales, but there is an entire community of Wagonmaster customers (you will get to know them...I have seen 3 Woodys since I got mine, and 2 were Wagonmaster. The other barely ran) that can attest to how great these cars are. Just please don't bring it to South Beach...I like having the only one here! read more

My husband bought me a 1986 Jeep Grand Wagoneer for my birthday. Cream-white, tan interior: my dream car since I saw Diane Keaton take to the hills of Vermont in "Baby Boom". Not only is the car perfect in every way, but also Chip was perfect and made sure every detail of the purchase and delivery was pain-free. Buying a car over the internet could obviously be a risky proposition, but Chip made sure all documents were here as or before promised, and any requested modifications to the vehicle were done right down to the letter. The car is 100% guaranteed and if we needed any type of work done upon delivery, they promised to take care of the charge. Further, Chip is available for consult as needed and walked us through the car's nuances and operating systems.
