My wife and I had an excellent salad and burger, and, after all that was so good, I had my first ever poutine experience, (and now officially understand the hype with this trademark Canadian staple.) This is my second time ever eating at a Wahlburgers and I've had the same experience pretty much both times, meh. My first trip was in Cony Island and I thought the food was bland and mediocre, well, let's talk about my second experience at the Toronto Airport. I had some time to kill before a flight back to Las Vegas and the food options were slim in the area I was in, which lead me to give Wahlburgers a second chance. The staff here had me seated right away and the people serving and taking my order were pretty helpful overall. The menu here is a standard fast food style burger joint and since I didn't care for the burgers on my first trip, I decided to give the chicken sandwich and french fries a go this time around. The food came out fairly quickly which caught me off guard because this place was insanely busy, but pretty great. The french fries were pretty standard and I have no real complaints about them, while the chicken sandwich was the most mediocre chicken sandwich I think I've ever had, which is saying a lot. My best description for this sandwich was that it tasted like generic microwaved chicken sandwich number three, and that's the best I got. Overall, I don't think I'll be giving Wahlburgers a third try in any situation. The service here was solid, the restaurant itself was fine and I have no issues with how it was set up, but the bland and lackluster food just don't do anything for me, but hey, it'll feed you in a pinch at the airport. read more

I've never tried Marky Mark's burger joint so I figured I'd give it a shot while waiting for my flight home at the US departures terminal at the airport. In summary - it's OK - slightly better than McDonalds but nothing more than that. The staff seemed really depressed didn't seem to want to be there. I only had about 30 minutes before my flight so I ordered an "Our Burger" and a poutine to go. The food was ready in about 5 minutes and I took it back to my gate to eat it. The burger was acceptable for a fast food burger but not at the same level as In N Out, Shake Shack, or even Five Guys. The meat wasn't particularly flavorful and it didn't seem made to order. The meat might have even been frozen. The poutine tasted like frozen fast food French fries with canned gravy and cheese. It was fine for an airport meal in a hurry but isn't something that I would ever seek out. I know airport food isn't great, but this was terrible. They sat us all the way in the back by the kitchen despite there being loads of spots in the front. It smelled so bad of old oil. The service was so slow. They have a burger called "the impossible", which most people would associate with being vegan, but it had regular cheese, non-vegan sauce, and no option for a vegan bun. Seriously the best beyond meat burger I've had in a very long time! There is One guy, Fernando, who is working and doing everything. He was calm under pressure as many people were trying to get food and a flight. I said I'm sorry he hast to do everything and he responded that he felt bad for the customers. After seeing that Wahlburgers was at my terminal at the Toronto Airport, I decided to check it out because A, it was all in the name with the famous Wahlberg family owning this burger joint and B, I needed a place where I could spend a few hours at a bar to kill time (long layovers are the worst). Wahlburgers was super crowded for lunch, with nearly every table being taken. But fortunately, I was able to snag a seat at the bar on the corner where there was an outlet for my phone. The menu had a solid list of various burger specials, with sides, salads, and some entrees. I also learned that they had their own beers, including the Wahlbrewski IPA, which I ordered with my double decker burger and tots. When I ordered the bartender/server mentioned that the food would take a while to get since they're so busy and slightly backed up with orders, which I didn't mind. While I was reading with my beer, I was surprised by how quickly my food actually came since I expected a delay. Service was great for me the entire time I was here at Wahlburgers, with the bartender continuously checking in with me. The double decker burger, which is double the patty of the house burger, reads like a typical burger with LTO, pickles, cheese and house sauce that's created by one of the Wahlberg brothers. Meh. It was an airport burger. It wasn't bad, especially from the melted, thick cheese slices, but can't say the patties were memorable. It was on the bland side, with it being slightly overcooked. The house sauce, which I also had a side of for my tots, were that of a ketchup-mayo mix with a slight spice to it. Tots were standard. Portion was hefty and I didn't need dinner afterwards. Overall, it's airport food with a celebrity name to it. I do have to say, for those in this particular terminal for Air Canada flights going into the U.S., Wahlburgers was the best option for where to eat and hang out in. I'm glad for that. read more
