Wow! What an incredible experience! The food is so spectacular we went for lunch and came back for dinner later! Ask for Mr Nike "The Legend" - he will give you the most incredible experience. This guy truly LOVES his job and goes above and beyond for each guest. He is full of personality and has been serving the Keys locally for decades. We asked for some delicious key lime sauce that is a signature, and he came back with a plate and a fish painted in the sauce. Pic attached The peel and eat shrimp were also delicious - SO FRESH! and the Key Lime pie was TO DIE FOR! We plan on going back each day of our vacation to try more on the menu. You just can't get any more than this for a 'local place'. We sat in the long outdoor bar facing the water. The scene was awesome, picturesque! We weren't wearing bright day glow clothes with fanny packs, and Walt Disney sunglasses, but definitely felt like we were outsiders. Everybody was super nice to us, but it's just that feeling you have by looking around and seeing how other people are interacting. It was really just a perfect place on the water with cold beer. We were there for their AWESOME happy hour offerings, the HH menu on their website is not accurate. The seafood buffet apparently closed 2 months ago . No scallops no snow crab legs. We ordered the Mahi basket with fries. My wife had coleslaw. I had yellow rice . The only place in the island that overcooked the mahi. Dry all the way through. It was not a good experience. On the opposite end the home cut fries we're not cooked all the way and served lukewarm . So they were mealy and unpleasant. I sampled 4-5 from different areas just to make sure and it was just bad. The yellow rice was tasteless but extremely sticky. It would stick to anything it touched like the bottom of the fork or my hand or just anything. It made me wonder if they put in an additive for it to Clump or just didn't wash the rice. That would explain the presentation, a giant half dome serving from a scoop. My wife really enjoyed the coleslaw and she absolutely loved the Key Lime colada drink . We came here after leaving Isla Morada. We were starving and some of our friends suggested it. Once again they are pet friendly and that's the main reason we decided to eat there. My husband got a pound of shrimp which he devoured. And I got the shrimp linguine. Which I'm a sucker for. Everything was delicious. The views were amazing and max really liked seeing the fake shark they have on the bottom . Everyone was really nice especially to max. They brought him a bowl of water which he said was top tier. The million dollar view of the islamorada sand bar was outstanding with a cold Aperol spritz in my hand. The fish dip was excellent and the cucumber and onions were crisp and the chips did not fall apart when scooping up the fish. The waitress was kind and helpful. We made a pit stop leaving Key West and we are so glad we did, this place was amazing. We waited about 15 minutes but it was fine because we sat in the outside area and waited for our table. As someone who learned to make Key lime pie at the Hyatt Key West in the mid-1990s, I have a particular fondness for the classic custard-and-meringue style. Walking in, the place was big. It had both indoor and outdoor seating. I like the decorations. Had that dive bar type feel with all the dollar bills stapled to the walls and ceilings. The servers were great. They did check up on us often and made sure our drinks were refilled. The food looked good, but it was either too salty or wasn't warm enough. Both my wife and I ordered both chowders to try them out. My wife's chowder was too salty and my chowder was more on the warm to lukewarm side. The ceviche was good. Had good flavors and leaned on the sweater side since it had pineapples. The key lime pie was a little too sweet for my taste, but was a little shocked it got delivered with our dinner and not after. The kids meals are a good deal. I was shocked with how big the portions are for them. Other than that, it was ok. Would I come back, probably not. I do like the area it's in. We've been stopping here for over 5 years, we sit up top with a beautiful view and a very attentive young lady that runs the bar, drink's and view are the best, last month we stopped and had the wahoo bites, tasted great but we both got sick to our butts 2 hours later, we thought we had a Little bug, today on the way back from Key West, we stopped in as usual, we again ordered the wahoo bites and a couple bears, no sooner do we get home we both (not together) blow up the toilet, I know they had a change of management within the last year, I'm thinking maybe the kitchen isn't running as smoothly as it should be and sauces are left out too long, it's a shame, will continue to stop in at wahoo's to see the young lady up top in the open bar for the view and drinks, but we'll have to find another place to get a bite to eat! Beautiful spot and great food! Me and my boyfriend both ordered the Wahoo BLTs which were delicious and very filling (I could only finish half of mine). The fish was perfectly cooked and very fresh. There was the perfect amount of bacon lettuce tomato and sauce as well. It's right on the water and has a great view. There's also indoor seating with AC. Our waiter Mr. Nike was the absolute best!
