Whenever I am in Cali, I always make a stop at Wahoo's for a quick bite. I didn't know they expanded to Colorado. While here in Denver, I stopped by a Wahoo's location earlier in the day and their computer system was down. So I searched for another location and found this one outside the Denver airport. The Outer Reef Burrito is my favorite, so I grabbed one smothered in melted cheese with some spicy cajun white beans for lunch. Everything was amazing as always. Stopping by here at Wahoo's Fish Taco was the perfect way to end my week long trip to Colorado. I am a long time fan of Wahoo's Fish Tacos. They have been serving the SoCal community fast casual surf food since the 80's. Their food is a mixture of Mexican, Brazilian and Asian cuisine. Wahoo's has a long-time partnership with the surfing and skateboarding community. If you have never been to a Wahoo's, you basically pick your entrée item and one of several protein options. They have combos that come with a selection of beans and rice or items a la carte (the portions are pretty generous). Wahoo's also sells alcohol and has a good selection of beers and margaritas. Make sure you ask for some stickers at the counter. I like to stick them on my drinkware or laptop. read more

As someone who grew up in "the OC" aka Orange County CA this I the closest I have been to real fish tacos since moving to New Mexico Living in Albuquerque nothing like it. People are great. Weird to see snowboarders culture as it has surf culture origins. Great decor, I have to mention Rubios as in San Diego county specifically it's the original fish taco place. Wahoo uses a slightly different model but food hit the spot. Please come to Albuquerque! Every one else wants In and Out but I would love love love a Wahoo's read more

I have heard of Wahoo's Fish Taco before, now I had an opportunity to try it. Shamefully, it was nowhere near the hype I have heard. We came when there is supposed to be a lunch rush, and the first telling sign shown us that they're not popular amongst the local crowd. The place was empty like my soul. When we ordered, we noticed how every little addition to the menu adds up fast. A $12 burrito ends up being close to $20 real quick. Then the wait was pretty extensive, it felt like only one person was working the whole joint, it took us leaving before we saw another worker there. On top of that, we were refused to-go cups for whatever drink we had left cause, in her words, "it comes with the large." Yeah, definitely not seeing the hype here. read more

I wanted to love this spot because they have a great variety of fish tacos-fried and grilled and different type including flounder, wahoo and salmon but unfortunately it left me a little disappointed. The size of the tacos are fair with a generous piece of fish but the wahoo was incredibly dry and there was way too much slaw. The Alaskan flounder crispy taco was fine. I do like the sauces they came with. At about $6.50 a taco, I do think they are pricy for the quality. The Mr Lee chicken burrito was essentially 3/4 rice and some mildly flavored chicken and was very pricy for what it was. Their chips are fine but I was not a fan of the guacamole. There is also an additional service fee even when you order online on their site for pickup. Wahoos service is always quick, the food is fresh. My husband loves the original fish enchiladas in red sauce with white rice and white beans. I tried the Salmon bowl, was fishy, but Elsie the manager replaced it with grilled chicken; the Pico de Gallo made it tasty and healthy. read more

So glad I visited Wahoos for lunch the other day! It had been awhile since I'd visited- now that their Five Points location is closed it's not convenient. However, I was shopping at Northfield the other day so I popped in. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the Ceviche tostadas were awesome. They were fresh and flavorful, even the avocados, which some places will serve past their prime. Not Wahoos thought. The fries came out piping hot and crispy. The restaurant was clean too. read more

I ate a lot of Wahoos growing up in CA and this was my first time trying it in CO. It's conveniently located in the north field mall by target - I so happened to stop by to pick up food here after a target run. There was a drive through but was quite long so I parked and walked in. First time for me. I've driven by the place a number of times and decided to stop in and give it a try. Friendly guy taking my order helped me out figuring out what I wanted. I have a complaint about a gentleman, I'm assuming he's the manager, at the "Shops at Northfield" location in Denver, CO. On September 27th, I participated in the Denver Century Ride that began and ended at the Shops at Northfield. Wahoo's was one of the food vendors that participated in feeding the cyclists at the conclusion of the ride. The Wahoo's booth had no menu or description of their food, unlike the other food vendors there. The manager (I assume he was the manager because he was a large, gray-haired man of at least middle age wearing a Wahoo's t-shirt.) was standing at the booth, "supervising", I suppose. Upon seeing no description of any of the items, I asked him what was on the menu. He just glared at me rather than answer. I guess he thought he was above that and that I needed to ask his lower-level employee serving the food, which I finally did. I thought this was not only poor customer service, but very rude. It was the last thing I needed after riding 104 miles. read more

Fast casual place charging full service prices. It's not providing value for money any longer. You can expect to pay $19 for a (2) Taco combo with rice and beans. Classic fish is an up charge now. Perhaps they need to negotiate better with their food vendors. Who knows, but what made this place great has changed. read more

This place is conveniently by my work, so have been a couple times. Enchiladas were pretty good, but what's up with their signature fish tacos? Barely any fish all crust. Not a good look, and over packed with cabbage and cilantro. Long stems of cilantro is gross in tacos, at least chop it up. More cabbage and cilantro than actual fish. Might be my last time going here, super waste of my money tbh. read more

I am a fan of Wahoo's Fish Tacos and I like it because I actually like the flavor of the fish - they don't season it heavily here, instead they rely on the slaw and the sauces to flavor it, which I actually prefer. I will say though that the sides (beans and rice) are very bland with no seasoning. I tend to mix them up and add hot sauce so it works for me but if someone is looking for an intense flavor, it's not here. We also ordered the Baja Rolls, which look a lot like chicken pinwheel sandwiches with the green sauce. They are not impressive at all.
