This was our first visit with our 2-year-old mixed-breed dog, and Tyrel provided outstanding customer service. He explained the available grooming services, checked us in efficiently, and calmly escorted our dog to the grooming area, helping him feel comfortable. We brought our dog in for a nail trim and nail buffing, and both services were done professionally. When Tyrel returned, he mentioned that our dog was a little nervous about the height of the grooming table, so he lowered it to help him feel more at ease. After just 4 sessions, the transformation has been unbelievable. Today was our final session, and I honestly wish I had a video of how Kona used to be so people could truly understand how far he's come. At the beginning, he wouldn't even go up to Kristi and was extremely hesitant and fearful whenever she took the leash. Now? He confidently walks up to her on his own terms -- calm, trusting, and self-assured. That alone speaks volumes. Kristi didn't just train Kona -- she guided us on how to train him the right way. She's patient, knowledgeable, supportive, and truly cares about both the dog and the owners. She sets you up for success, but it's important to note that the progress comes from continuing the work at home too -- and her guidance made that possible for us. Earlier this year, they started having more frequent squabbles that escalated to the point where they were physically hurting each other. It became overwhelming and difficult to manage. I reached out to several training facilities, but many of them were hesitant to take my dogs because of how far things had escalated. Thankfully, Brandon at Mokupini Paws was willing to help. We enrolled in a month-long board and train program, and it made such a difference. At the handoff, Brandon walked me through all of the commands they had learned and how to use them at home. I was amazed at how obedient they were, while still keeping their fun personalities. Brandon is so committed to their growth and development, and his gentle way of leading them made the whole experience so positive and easy. The biggest change has been how much calmer and easier they are to live with. Walks used to be stressful--they would bark and pull on the leash whenever we passed other dogs. Now, they may whimper a little, but they stay under control and don't react like before. Playing with them, taking them out, and introducing them to other dogs and people has become so much more enjoyable.
