I've ordered Waikiki on door dash before work several times and it's hands down the best poke in the area. They are SO generous with the proteins and toppings. Everything is always fresh. The inside of the cafe is a bit run down: the bathrooms were out of order, very basic tables and chairs, floors generally unkempt, etc. But honestly the state of the cafe doesn't deter me in the slightest. I have been meaning to check this place out for a while, and I finally went to take advantage of their great lunch special to get food for me and some friends. We all got different things out the menu and everyone really enjoyed what they had. I got the Orange and General Tso's chicken lunch specials respectively, which came with rice and a Mac salad as well for both. Along with the food, we had some different fruit teas, including passionfruit and mango along with Boba milk tea with Taro. It was a large order so of course it took a few minutes to prepare everything but I think from the time I ordered to the time they handed it to me, it was about 20 minutes. The place isn't very large inside, but there is plenty of room for seating if you wanna dine in or just wait and grab for takeout. Definitely looking forward to my next visit there to try more things from the menu and maybe get a Poké bowl next time. read more

If I could give this place more than 5 stars i would. The food was delicious. I ordered a pick 2 Waikiki Plate with Pork Katsu and BBQ beef. The pork was nice and crispy but tender. The beef was out of this world delicious. Their Mac salad is really good too. The service was really fast the restaurant is very casual and only has a few tables. Let just say that it was delicious! It was definitely a "Ratatouille" (off topic if you haven't seen the movie is awesome!) food flashback!! Took me right back to my childhood growing up on Hawaiian food. Many places try to make Hawaiian teriyaki sauce and in my opinion fail! This place OMG!! The Hawaiian macaroni salad comes very close to what I have eaten in the past. The food was hot and stayed nice and warm for the trip home. Service was excellent. Great poke!! After having been to Hawaii and having the real thing... nothing compares... yet Waikiki Poke is great for what they offer. I personally think this is the best poke bowl in the area, others just aren't that's great! Lots of options here, so it can be overwhelming, but if you ask them for recommendations they are a huge help. Regarding some of the other reviews... You do have to pay before you get your meal, but you do at Five guys too! And I haven't seen or heard the microwave, but let's be honest - most places you go out to eat to some degree probably use one- and I don't own one! So you take it for what it is - you don't have to cook. Their pre-made options are great for bowls, the ramen is good, haven't tried it personally but a friend got it and said it was good and they are a foodie too. Okay. First: I never write bad reviews. Usually don't bother. I love poke, and spotted Waikiki on Elmwood. Went in to order the "build your own bowl" option ON the menu and asked if I could have fried shrimp as my protein. Woman suggested that I get a specific fried shrimp bowl that had like 2 of the same ingredients, but not all the options I wanted (not even close..) so I reiterated- "Id like to build my own bowl, can I do that?" as it says on menu and as a gazillion other spots offer... after all, I had spent a few minutes deciding on which items I wanted! lol Like quinoa for example. So I told her I didn't want the fried shrimp bowl with white rice , thank you. Can I have fried shrimp on a "build your own??" No answer. Not a language barrier. That was clear. Then she pressed on and suggested I just swap quinoa for white rice. Then I said well, okay but I wanted a bunch of different things - not just quinoa. Then I acquiesced- but " I do want the avocado that comes.." she interrupts, "Well, there's avocado in the fried shrimp bowl...." Mind you- I'm only 2 items into this build your own saga and she's interrupting my order to tell me to get this specific bowl again, and apparently a bunch of stuff I don't want or like 5 substitutions, when the menu offers a "build your own option" which appeared to be a NON OPTION. I had to say, "I'm sorry. I'm done here. It's just getting too much"... I hate reviews that bitch about service because I usually want to know about food. So I decided to give 2 stars for the AWESOME array of options that they had that they wouldn't jet me order... and given reviews, the awesome food that I am not going to be able to try!!! There's a new option for poke right on Elmwood Avenue! I'm a huge fan of poke bowls, I firmly believe they make the perfect meal. Typically (at least in the Western New York area), they aren't the most affordable option, but when I learned of Waikiki's opening and saw their prices, I was stunned! We got takeout and were impressed with the menu offerings -- not only do they have build your own poke bowls, there's ramen, and a host of appetizers as well. I did opt for a build your own bowl with tuna. It was a very good portion size but the balance was a little off for my liking. Way too much edamame, not enough fish. Next time I might ask for an extra scoop of tuna! Overall, the food was delicious and the experience was great. There aren't many good poke options around Buffalo, and the restaurants that do currently offer it aren't cheap by any means. I will gladly order out from Waikiki again. Gotta get my hands on a bowl of their ramen sometime soon now that fall is almost here! read more

This is a good place to get something fresh and veggie-ful on Elmwood. The ambiance might not be that exciting, but it does have good food at a reasonable price. I can't speak for the meats, but the tofu is fine - perhaps bland and should be seasoned or at least fried a bit - but the amount of toppings you can get for the base price more than makes up for it. Also, they have bubble tea. I don't know many places in the city of Buffalo that do that. I'd also say they're pretty quick - so if you order for pick up, the time that it says on the app will be pretty spot on. read more

The dining experience was a little lack luster. It was a shaky table, kinda like patio furniture. The food was given on take out containers which is convient when you want to go, but I personally would've like to be served on a real plate. I think we spent about 40-50$. I was really looking forward to trying Waikiki Poke & Grill but after a pretty bad (and expensive) meal I won't be going back. To start, the place is very sparse and cold inside. The menu took a little while to figure out even though I've had poke and Asian grill many times. I ordered two meats and the dumplings. It was really expensive for what you get. The dumplings were deep fried, which I don't like. A moment after I ordered I heard the microwave going, which is always a bad sign. Did they nuke the rice or the meat? The meat portions were really small and not that tasty. They were served on some cabbage with a side of macaroni salad. Food is delicious! The poke bowls are fantastic, flavorful, and you get a good portion. The Waikiki plates are also good and everything I've tried has tasted good. The ramen also isn't bad and worth a try! I haven't had any bad service when dining in and if I ever ask for a substitution in my bowl they're perfectly fine to do it. It may seem a little run down but it's lowkey and you can sit and chat for as long as you want. Good hours too, I'll grab a late bite there sometimes. Really recommend for the food!!! read more

Excellent, an Elmwood Village poke spot! And it was good, too. Food was super tasty, order was delivered in good time and everything was correct. We had the spicy salmon, tuna and crab and at first I was a little wary as it wasn't so much chunks as a sort of mash of the fish? But it was really good, so that solved that. We ordered through grub hub. I don't usually do reviews but I'm super pregnant and bored. We both really enjoy Asian food like sushi places and basic quick Chinese food places, as well as health food, so I wanted to try this. The food was good but I feel like they kind of skimped on sauce because for the sauces my fiancé and I both ordered , we just got one side of it in the bag, instead of one each order for spicy mayo, also all the sauces were authentic names that we had to look up on Google and just ordered what sounded good. We didn't order soy sauce but we got two cups that looked like soy sauces... We both also felt like each ingredient that were included in the poke bowl was a very small dusting on the rice. The chicken nuggets were little pieces of dark meat which was kind of unexpected , never had that, I usually prefer dark meat, except in chicken nuggets, ya know but I've only had McDonald's nuggets so What do I know there... and the breading was very bland, couldn't taste any salt or seasoning, so again more sauce would have been awesome. Maybe label the sauces with a sharpie and be a little more generous with the ingredients in the bowl and the sauce, and not have it be mostly rice peppered with ingredients. Overall it was tasty, but the man didn't feel full and actually either did I, but we felt like we ate healthy which was good. The shrimp was cooked perfect.... we probably won't order it again, although he was looking at the chicken wings on the menu with intrigue but I don't know.... Just because we like health food doesn't mean we don't want to feel full when ordering out... :) we like to be full and have lots of flavor in our meals.
