    Build your own Bowl
    Sara K.

It took me a long time to try this place because I'm not much of a "bowl" person. And this place did not change my mind about bowls but I will share my review: I ordered the build your own bowl with: Jasmine Rice, Sesame Shoyu Sauce, Spicy Faroe Island Salmon, Krab Salad, Fried Onions, Sweet Potato, Green Onion, and Shrimp. I want to say everything was of the freshest quality, with the exception of the "krab" ... it wasn't bad but it was very dry. The salmon I didn't care for because I am big on texture and for me, it wasn't cooked enough ... but there was nothing wrong with it at all, it's just a preference. Everything else I enjoyed. Again, not a bowl person here but if I were, I would definitely come here again and just swap out the things I didn't like. For reference: think chipotle, only seafood, but it's cleaner and not crowded. They do have other things to buy here if you want to bring home a pack of anchovies and such. You can dine in, take out, or get it delivered.

    Lobster roll Mp

Not sure if ordering from new vendors. The taste and quality in the past two months has sadly diminished. I've tried two completely different meals, the Korean bowl and now the lobster roll. Korean, the flavor was decent but the meat was very chewy and tough. Lobster roll lacked sweetness and seemed quite boring . Presentation was good as well as friendly service!

Stopped by Fresh Catch Poke and tried the açaí bowl--really good! Super fresh fruit, great texture, and not overly sweet. Everything tasted super fresh and felt like a perfect light and refreshing option.

Ok love Fresh Catch, love how fresh and delicious their ingredients are but they need more sauce options. The one ginger sauce I had was extremely spicy I could not tolerate more than 0.5 mL of it. Please expand that sauce menu. Ambiance in there is great and service is always good.

Connecticut Lobster Roll (Warm) - melted butter with hot sauce made it out-of-this world!
    Laura G.

I've been craving lobster rolls for years, so finally jumped on the opportunity to get one at Fresh Catch. I went with Connecticut style roll and loved the touch of hot sauce added to the melted butter. It came with Old Bay seasoned chips and some mac salad, both of which were tasty sides I just wish I would have been able to use my points (finally made it to $5 off) and my birthday bonus at the same time. It took me seemingly forever to earn the $5 off, so when the cashier told me she could only use the bday discount, I was annoyed, because the $5 was expiring the next day and my bday bonus wasn't done until a few weeks later. Oh well, less lobster roll for me.

Flaming Tuna bowl, SteakTeriyaki bowl, and a Connecticut lobster roll

We discovered that we could use our Indepent Health Extras card at this place, so we stopped by to try a few of their dishes. We ordered the Flaming Tuna bowl, steak teriyaki bowl, and a Connecticut style lobster roll. Well, heres the good and the bad. The ingredients in the case all look fresh, and there are many options to choose from when you make your own bowl. Let's start out with the tuna bowl. It was excellent and very filling with a large portion of fresh, spicy tuna. The steak bowl was pretty good. I enjoyed the flavors, but the steak was a bit tough. I will try the chicken version next time. The lobster roll. Ugh. It was not good at all. The roll was overcooked, dried out, and almost burnt. The lobster itself was tough, with little flavor and dry. The sauce that came with it was more vinegar tasting than butter, and it didn't help the dish at all. I was so looking forward to the lobster, but it was inedible. I tried to at least eat the lobster out of the roll, but it wasn't worth the calories. I will try the place again for the tuna bowl, but I'll definitely skip the other items, and I definitely won't suggest the lobster roll to anyone else.

Ceviche Poke with Organic Cold Pressed Juice

First time at this establishment & I was very happy! There was lots of options to chose from & everything was fresh. There is ample amount of parking & the atmosphere inside was very bright, clean, spacious & youthful. At first I was a little hesitant on what to get but the employee reassured me that if I had any questions or concerns, I can always test try different options beforehand. I decided to go with the ceviche poke bowl which contained lots of enriched delicious ingredients like: scallops/shrimp citrus-marinated seafood, jasmine rice, spring mix, edamame, pineapple, cucumber, bean sprouts, green onion, carrots, sesame seeds, shredded coconut, & lemon basil vinaigrette. I was blown away by the quality & taste of this poke bowl. It was delicious, nutritious & light so it did not make me feel heavy or regretful after finishing it. Moreover, the two employees were very kind, patient & attentive to all my requests. They offer many dairy free & gluten free options & set out to make everyone's bowls perfect so the customer can have a great experience. I really appreciate Fresh Catch Poke & you have earned my respect, I will most definitely come back in the near future & try out some more bowls! Thanks :)

Very fresh, light and delicious. My daughter has been asking to try Poke Bowls at this restaurant. So a few girlfriends in tow, we headed over to try them! Each girl got a different bowl, creating their own bowl with different choices of proteins, sauces and toppings. I chose the Aloha Bowl. Easy choice since the ingredients are already selected for you in the right combination and flavors. The açaí bowl looked incredible! One of the girls got it and was raving about it all the way home! Yum! For three poke bowls, one açaí bowl and drinks, the tab was around $72.00. Not a cheap eats type of restaurant. Yet, unique, high quality and very fresh ingredients that are healthy and prepared nicely. I'm sure we will be back! And oh, the decor is very uplifting. Simple, light-filled, modern and green - love the greenery!

Found this spot on Yelp when we were looking for a lunch option (that wasn't typical fast food). Servings were generous. I will say the spicy tuna lacked flavor on its own. They had cauliflower rice but it was an up charge. The large poke bowl is more than enough for two people to share if you can agree on your ingredients. Parking is in a lot next door.

    New Seafood Market
    Linda M.

When planning our home alone New Years Eve dinner this year we decided it would include seafood. So when we heard that Fresh Catch had opened their new Seafood Market in their restaurant we knew we had to check it out! We had decided on lobster tail and ordered ahead to pick up two 8 oz. tails. Well after getting there we also got a large Alaskan King Crab tail. How could I resist! Both were reasonably price and tasted delicious. All the other seafood looked so nice and fresh. Will need to check that out on another visit. Naturally since we were there we walked over to check out the bowls. We got the Flying Salmon Bowl and the FlamingTuna Bowl. Both were good but I preferred the tuna. It had a nice spicy kick that added enough flavor without being overpowering. Though both had ingredients I liked, so next time will go with the make your own bowl option. Was already a great restaurant and the seafood market adds another dimension. 21-1

Ask the Community - Fresh Catch Poke

I saw in an article in Step Out Buffalo that they offer a picnic basket called a seafood basket but can't find it on their website. Anyone know anything about it?

Are the fish options all raw? Or do you have a choice between cooked and raw?

Our shrimp and chicken is cooked, the Hawaiian ahi, salmon and Hawaiian special are all raw, served traditional poké style.

I lived in Dunkirk for several years, but the changes that they have made to the pier and boardwalk are really unbelievable !!!! Shops & restaurants and this gem!! Let me be very clear in saying that there are maybe three tables inside; this is definitely a grab and go restaurant . However there is a huge patio with many many tables even if they are full, which is doubtful, you could certainly grab a spot on the boardwalk nearby . We happened to have a beautiful night and we have an event to go to at SUNY Fredonia so a friend recommended this place . We waited about 15 minutes to place our order. After ordering we enjoyed our drinks out on the patio while we waited for our food. I opted for an alcoholic beverage while my son had a virgin piña colada. Our number was called maybe 15 minutes later and we were served absolute deliciousness. My son ordered the California, which was a delicious crispy fish sandwich while I opted for an Asian chicken wrap. Our food was absolutely delicious. Served just right. The food temperature was perfect and the portions were ample . The service was wonderful. If I ever come upon a beautiful night again in Dunkirk, I will definitely be visiting this place !!!!

The absolute best lunch my mother-in-law and I have had in a VERY long time. This is by far the most incredible and freshest seafood in the area. We got there shortly after opening so it was not busy, but by noon, the line was out the door. Very clean restaurant. You can tell they pay attention to the place. Great decor, friendly staff. Plenty of seating room. The menu was a bit overwhelming. I ended up getting the blackened haddock platter (with red potatoes and coleslaw) and mom got the lake perch with the same sides. We both were in love at our first bite. The haddock was perfectly seasoned and I had no doubts it was cooked well. Lately I feel some places I have been served fish that isn't done. No doubts here. Coleslaw was saucy and flavorful. Potatoes were delicious and the meal also came with a roll. The perch meal was exactly what my mother in law was hoping for. She hadn't had it in a while and it was a heaping portion. She said it "barely" had much taste, which was a plus for her. The batter was clean, and you can tell fresh oil was in the fryer. While the prices are a little high for a normal lunch, they were worth every penny. We will definitely be back.

There were still some furnishings to complete (there were unforeseen delays). They kept the same menu offerings but it will be expanded within a month. We ordered the following: 1. Citra Terre D'Abruzzo Pinot Grigio - Italy (glass $14.95). 2. Coke. 3. Crab Cakes ($19.95). 4. New Orleans Shrimp Cocktail ($19.95). 5. Jambalaya Aranchini (weekly special). 6. Every dish had an excellent presentation. We spent a lot of time taking photos and videos. What did you expect from me?! We loved all the dishes! The portions were large! There are more staff than in the previous location, allowing the service to be excellent. They tend to have many loyal and returning customers. Every table starts with freshly baked bread and butter. The bread was so fresh! The three appetizers tasted good. They each had a little kick due to creole cuisine. I loved the shrimp the most. The Blackened Lamb Chops was perfectly cooked. Each of the four pieces were very tender, accompanied by a delicious sauce. The dish had some very nicely cooked seasonal vegetables: roasted potatoes, a red pepper, string beans, a broccoli, and a carrot. This dish will be put into their regular menu in the near future. The New Orleans Fisherman's Plate is great if you want a little sampling of their seafood: Blackened Fish, Cajun Calamari, and Coconut Beer Shrimp. It also comes with rice and seasonal vegetables. The fish was so good! We brought some home for my mom and she really loved it. The Coconut Beer Shrimp was on top of a Orange Marmalade Sauce, which is really liked. The three desserts looked really good and tasted good. I loved the pecan pie the most. They can split dishes in half in the kitchen and serve them on two dishes for two people to share. The restaurant uses fresh seasonal ingredients and spices to create authentic Creole and Cajun tastes. Everything is made in-house except for bread and butter. In the near future, their bread will be made in-house too. Currently, there is only indoor dining but they are looking into the possibility of sidewalk outdoor dining. Mike Djurdjevic runs the front of the house while his wife, Mira Djurdjevic, operates the kitchen. Their son, Marko, also helps in the front of the house. There is a large pizza oven at the back of the restaurant. They will be introducing creole pizza in the near future. There is a separate large room for events, parties, etc. This room will be ready in the near future. They also do catering. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, but there is no door-open button. There is one gender-neutral washroom, which is also wheelchair accessible, and one female washroom. Thrre is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2026-037
