I regret that we didn't get any pictures of OUR AMAZING FEAST! We had the crab boil special, warm lobster rolls and açaí bowl. They came out quick and fresh. Every employee is just so joyful to interact with. I think it was the owner who was going around chatting and passing out extra napkins to everyone- we were all dripping in seafood juices. We had so much food it was a little crazy but sometimes kids are picky and you never know- but my 8 and 5 year old loved everything. The crab scissors were truly life changing and made the process so much more enjoyable. It was kind of a fun vibe, counter service, free water if you didn't want a bottle or can of something, plastic tables cloths with a funky fresh overall interior design. Really fun! This is our go to after work pick on a Friday after a long hard week. The oysters are so fresh and delicious. We always get the ahi nachos. They are perfectly balanced with crunchy, sweet, spicy, creamy and fresh. They serve a variety of beers and some cocktails that are outstanding. The service is always attentive without being " too" attentive. We get a bowl to take to the kid at home who raves about it every time. No stranger to this place but first time leaving a review here. When I venture out here, usually it's before Shea's, a Sabres or Bandits game. Right around the corner from work, this place always has a great atmosphere with super cute tables and furniture. In the summer the windows open like a garage door style to get a fresh breeze. Every now and then there's a DJ playing music. The food is served as a made to order in front of you. It is very clean and kept. There are two beverage cases- non alcoholic and alcoholic. There is also a bar located in the restaurant with some pretty fun lighting. My go to staple is the chicken chirashi. It's got a bit of a kick to it, but so good. The cucumber and avocado balance out the spice kick to it. I can never go wrong with this dish. I always tell myself I'll try something new every time I come in but never fails, once a staple dish, always a staple dish. It's so colorful and presents so nicely. One of these days I'll try the açaí bowls (I'm eyeballing you Nutella). Upon leaving there's three separate bin spaces for discarding your remainders. There's a compost bin, a plastics recycle bin and a trash bin. There's also a shelf up top to place your bowls and plates after you're finished eating. When we go downtown, we tend to always get oysters as starters and a nice CT style lobster roll for dinner. The food is so fresh, you feel like it just came off the boat. Ordered take out before my night shift. Snagged a parking spot right out front to run in and grab my poke bowl, which was ready and waiting. I also ordered a seaweed salad and edamame. The poke bowl was amazing. I ordered the one with coconut flakes (don't knock it until you try it!) and both tuna and salmon. The bowl was huge and very filling, generous servings of protein and toppings. I added jalapeño which topped it off nicely. This will be my new poke spot! read more

The restaurant was clean and bright. The menu was a little bit confusing because it was constantly changing on a screen behind the counter. The flavor in the bowl meals that we ordered was a little bit disappointing. I thought the price for these meals was a bit high for the size and also the fact that the flavor was lacking. If you love sea food, this is a must for a good meal. They do so much more than just poke bowls. One of my favorite spots to go on the early side and get a seat at the bar! POKE BOWLS: These were good but a bit pricey for what we got. There is signature bowl special 2 for $22 that would probably make me feel better about returning for the poke. PARKING: Street parking only along a long stretch of building. This is shared with other restaurants and bars in the area but it isn't impossible to find. AMBIANCE: It's an upscale feel, a nice place to swing by on an off lunch hour to enjoy food and drinks with your friends. OYSTERS: This was the main reason for deciding on Fresh Catch Poke. The Shuck Shack oysters were nice and $2 each at the time of the visit. Quite large in size and fresh. Tried this place on a recent trip. Ordered a steak poke bowl. I was not blown away by the food though the place looks like it may be a great place for drinks and a night out with friends. I did not get drinks as I was staying at the Aloft and wanted to grab a quick bite after getting into town. The staff was super friendly and helpful. There was a lobster roll I wanted to order but got the bowl as I was super hungry and wanted a larger portion of food. I will try the lobster roll next time I am in the area. read more

Great spot to stop before a show at Shea's.  They have specials throughout the week and we were able to take advantage of the 2 signature bowls for $22 on a Tuesday.  Great deal! I went with the Salmo bowl and made a few swaps, like having a seaweed base instead of rice (there is an upgrade charge for this).  All the ingredients were fresh and colorful.  I only wish that I would have asked for the dressing (Ponzu) on the side; I don't like things to be over-dressed. It was very clean inside and gave off "hot spot" vibes.  Would go back with friends or when I'm looking for a quick (and healthy) bite to eat. And if you're craving something sweet, they have treats from East Aurora - Blue Eyed Baker goods (including GF treats) and Yummo ice cream.  I recommend both. read more

I hate to imply that there is no room for improvement, but they do a lot of things right. I would rather give 4.5 stars but it's not an option. I do know that getting fresh food isn't easy and fresh seafood is a rare find in these parts. One has to be prepared to pay the price for this type of specialty product. We're in the age of the $2 chicken wing, so it goes to show that everything is overpriced these days. With that said, it's fair for us to expect near-perfection when we pay a premium. There's little room for error. Fresh Catch is consistent. Consistently fresh, consistently clean and the service is consistently pleasant. It is a niche product though, so know what you're getting into. It may not be ideal for bringing the kids or the parents. It is a great place for friends, so if you have a crew of known poke or shellfish lovers, this is a great place to try. read more

I adore this place! I went here for the first time last weekend before heading down to spare lanes with my husband and a couple friends. I have eaten Fresh Catch before but only via take out from the Williamsville location. This time we were just headed in for drinks at the bright and cozy Galley bar. They have happy hour specials which is so nice and rare to see in Buffalo (see my photos for the board with details). My husband and I each got a drink while we waited for our friends to arrive and played Connect Four. Obviously I crushed him. Three times. But like, whatever, no big deal. My trophy should be arriving in the mail any day now. My first cocktail was the Bruce Lychee with tequila. It was very purply! I enjoyed it too much and drank it very fast. Next I tried the Loganberry Lemonade - on the flip side of the cocktail list is a list of cocktails featuring liquor made at Hartmans Distilling! Love seeing that local love. The vibe and decor is great, and I can't wait for warmer weather when the big garage door windows will be open to the sidewalk and you can sit looking out at downtown Buffalo. Very good Poke Bowl. As a base, I had the spring mix with jasmine rice. The flavor of the Spicy Tune was great! I added the seaweed salad, Kimchi, sweet Potatoes and cucumber. On top I had the spicy Mayo and bean sprouts. The bowl was very filling and I could have some leftover if it was so delicious. 4 and not five starts because the bean sprouts tasted funny, almost like too chemically, which was a turn off. Also it was a little pricey ($16 for the bowl). The Spivey tuna was $2.50 extra, but still a little steep. I will go back and I do recommend this to others. This was my first Fresh Catch experience after seeing them on Instagram for awhile. I decided to make my own bowl, and they have so many tasty options. I did a cauliflower base with spicy ahi tuna. You can pick sides- so I picked seaweed salad, cucumber, jalapeño, purple cabbage, and green onion. And then you can top it off with sauces and crunchy toppings so I did sriracha mayo and wasabi yuzu with sesame seeds on top. Overall, the bowl was very tasty. I wish I got some more protein though, and I noticed some of my veggies didn't look super fresh. I would definitely come back though! It was an easy, healthy lunch. read more

Today I tested out the Hawaii 5-0 bowl and it did not disappoint. It brought together the sweet potatoes I wanted from the Flaming Jewel and the spicy tuna I was craving. Definitely carried a serous lunch between the tuna, jalapeños, and spicy mayo but the pineapple and ponzu added some sweet relief. Always the freshest tuna and ingredients. Don't think I could handle the responsibility of the build your own bowl so good thing they offer so many preplanned options. I opted for the curbside pickup during my online order, they answered right a way and one of their friendly staff ran right out to me. Convenient and fast. My only minimal complaint is the size of the takeout containers. The bowls are loaded with ingredients that are in their own corners, so it makes it hard to mix them together in smaller size container than it's contents. read more

I love it here and I wish I would have gone more often. Personally, I prefer to get poke when I can sit and enjoy it immediately rather than ordering it for delivery. This is a place you can go to again and again and never get bored. Their food is fresh, the staff are nice, and the drinks and bartender are enough to make you want to stay. They have a great selection of signature and deluxe bowls but my favorite is the build your own. I get to add my own spin and get whatever I want (this is why I never get bored). Besides the fact that their food is always fresh, their sauces are what do it for me. And they don't just stop at bowls. Their lobster roll is soooooooo good!!!! The bread is soft and buttery, there are huge lumps of crab, and it's the perfect appetizer. Yes, it's enough to be a meal, especially since it comes with chips, but I've never come here and just got one thing. The food is just too good. If you ever get oysters by the dozen, get the assorted so you can try each style. And it doesn't cost extra. You're Welcome. Their cocktail menu is not super extensive (yes, I've had them all), but they are good. They do have a full bar so you can basically get whatever you would like. They also have a large selection of hard ciders and seltzers which is very nice. Their sake options are very good as well. While dining during covid, while restaurants were open, their tables and chairs were spaced out well and the staff cleaned regularly. If you sat at the bar, you and your party could sit together with a partition on the side of each of you to separate you from the other party. And these weren't the dividers that just made your food safe, there was an empty seat on the other side of the divider that couldn't be used to assure social distancing. Now that dining in is not an option you can do pick-up or delivery. If you order through their website you can get delivery through their staff for orders of $20 or more. I don't really know what to say other than "really solid poke." The selection was pretty standard as far as Poke places go. The fish, rice, and veggies were all fresh and of high quality. Speaking of rice: I've been in Poke places with cold rice, and warm rice that yields warm fish. They have their execution on point! RIce was warm, but didn't warm the fish in the process. I also really dig their sauce options! I love how they explain what goes into each sauce, so you don't have to be the guy holding up a line asking what exactly "Ponzu" or "Shoyu" is. Better than that, they have something for everyone! Whether you're looking for something sweet or spicy, creamy or, umm... not creamy? The location is bright, spacious and hip (hoping I'm using this correctly). In either case, great for catching some lunch with friends. The service was very nice too! False advertising! We'd had take-out from Fresh Catch before and really enjoyed it. Decided to try their oysters, responding to an e/m ad that they were $1. each this past Saturday. As usual, we were looking for take-out (covid). When we ordered, we were told that they were $2 each for takeout! Not what their ad had said. We left. We later e/mailed the restaurant, expressing our disappointment, and concern that we had been the victims of false advertising. We received an apology, with a "but" explanation that they were losing money by offering them for only $1. each, but no explanation as to why their advertising didn't state that takeout would be double the price for each oyster. Still feel we were the victims of false advertising, and glad we had the gumption to leave, rather than paying the jacked up price. read more

The downtown location is just as stellar as the Williamsville location! My boyfriend and I decided to try this one out since it's so close to us. We got takeout and the process was really easy: from online ordering to pickup I had no issues and my food was ready right when I got there. I opted for a build your own bowl with ahi tuna and a bunch of veggies! I also chose the spicy Korean pepper sauce, and it definitely brought the heat. They do not skimp on the sauce, so if you're sensitive to spice, I'd ask for light sauce! My boyfriend got the keto salmon bowl (with an addition of spicy shrimp) and really enjoyed his too. It's a little pricey here (which is to be expected. It's fresh fish after all), so this is a once in awhile spot for us, but we really do enjoy it! I would love to try their lobster roll, and I know they have a deal on them occasionally so I'm sure I'll be back. Fresh Catch will certainly satisfy all your seafood cravings! read more

I met some friends here tonight for a casual "book club" discussion and food/drinks. Such a cool place! The service was great! We were greeted and handed drink menus. The bartender was thorough at explaining how their drinks are made and how to order. I was worried with it being part of 500 pearl that it would be hard to find parking, but it actually has a separate entrance on Franklin (so you don't need to park in the parking ramp). There's a counter where you can order a poke bowl, or various specials/lobster rolls, vegan cookies, etc. You can build your own, or choose one of the selections on the menu. I ordered the "flaming tuna" bowl. It was delicious. It came with spicy ahi tuna, jasmine rice, hamper is, along with seaweed salad, and various other veggies, and a sesame and spicy Mayo sauce. The sauce and flavoring was delicious, but beware this one is hot! There is a seperate bar that has happy hour specials, even on saturdays. Their drink selection is a little different- all the drinks are mocktails. You then can choose the level of alcohol content to add on. I ordered a cocktail that has lavender, agave, and coconut water in it. It was very light and refreshing. They also offer one of the drinks to be made in a coconut (for an extra 4 dollars). This is the perfect place to stop for a casual happy hour or quick eat. I will definitely be going back to try the lobster roll and different bowls. read more

It's hard to find places that have all three: affordability, tasty, healthy. Fresh Catch Poke manages to do all of that. I can't eat poke after having poke in Hawaii, I got the poached Faroe salmon bowl, and it was really good. I generally don't like salmon b/c it's usually dry and overcooked, but with their poached method, it was juicy, high quality salmon and tasted great with the shallot sauce over a bed of healthy greens. I know everyone raves about the unhealthy options in Buffalo, but I'm getting older and my metabolism isn't the same, I got to mix in the healthy now too, and it's good knowing that Buffalo has Fresh Catch Poke as a great option when you can't do heavy all the time! read more

I can't believe I've never reviewed fresh catch! It is wonderful! And healthy! I used to get delivery through their app and it always had some sort of bug (not fresh catch's fault), so I had some issue with my order that I don't remember. The customer service was amazing and someone immediately drove it to my house. The macarons are to die for. Friday is $1 oysters at the bar and a great happy hour with decently priced drinks. They have a whole point thing and sometimes I get $$$ off because I go there so goddamn much. Also, you can order the lobster roll on greens instead of on a roll. I decided to try the Connecticut style lobster roll, which was perfectly fine -the lobster was delicious- but a little salty for me. I should have stuck with the Maine style. But it was fun to try something new. My best friend got a shrimp bowl which she loved. I also got sake from the tap which was super yummy. The music was a tiny bit loud, but otherwise the atmosphere was bright, cheerful, happy. A nice change from the dreary spring afternoon we were experiencing. It is interesting to have to order the oysters and some foods from the bar but it is worth it with how fresh the seafood is! The oysters are superb and the sauces provided go perfectly for a tangy and spicy flavor profile. The lobster roll deserves to be hyped as a very filling and unusually well-seasoned meal with generous servings of lobster meat.
