    Chicken Chirashi

No stranger to this place but first time leaving a review here. When I venture out here, usually it's before Shea's, a Sabres or Bandits game. Right around the corner from work, this place always has a great atmosphere with super cute tables and furniture. In the summer the windows open like a garage door style to get a fresh breeze. Every now and then there's a DJ playing music. The food is served as a made to order in front of you. It is very clean and kept. There are two beverage cases- non alcoholic and alcoholic. There is also a bar located in the restaurant with some pretty fun lighting. My go to staple is the chicken chirashi. It's got a bit of a kick to it, but so good. The cucumber and avocado balance out the spice kick to it. I can never go wrong with this dish. I always tell myself I'll try something new every time I come in but never fails, once a staple dish, always a staple dish. It's so colorful and presents so nicely. One of these days I'll try the açaí bowls (I'm eyeballing you Nutella). Upon leaving there's three separate bin spaces for discarding your remainders. There's a compost bin, a plastics recycle bin and a trash bin. There's also a shelf up top to place your bowls and plates after you're finished eating. Great way to help out the environment.

If you love sea food, this is a must for a good meal. They do so much more than just poke bowls. One of my favorite spots to go on the early side and get a seat at the bar! We went Good Friday around 3 and really enjoyed our shrimp, oysters, and the fish fry special. Service was fast and friendly. Will keep coming back again and again.

Great spot to stop before a show at Shea's.  They have specials throughout the week and we were able to take advantage of the 2 signature bowls for $22 on a Tuesday.  Great deal! I went with the Salmo bowl and made a few swaps, like having a seaweed base instead of rice (there is an upgrade charge for this).  All the ingredients were fresh and colorful.  I only wish that I would have asked for the dressing (Ponzu) on the side; I don't like things to be over-dressed. It was very clean inside and gave off "hot spot" vibes.  Would go back with friends or when I'm looking for a quick (and healthy) bite to eat. And if you're craving something sweet, they have treats from East Aurora - Blue Eyed Baker goods (including GF treats) and Yummo ice cream.  I recommend both.

I really enjoy stopping into Fresh Catch on an early Friday evening. The d.j. spins good tunes and it's a relaxed atmosphere. The poke bowls ate good and they've been having shuck shack oysters on Fridays. Also a decent drinks menu with a couple nice sake choices.

I love Fridays here! DJ Sike is always on point and the fresh food and drinks are delicious! The vibe is so nice and it's just a nice place to be on a Friday night. Always coming back.

I hate to imply that there is no room for improvement, but they do a lot of things right. I would rather give 4.5 stars but it's not an option. I do know that getting fresh food isn't easy and fresh seafood is a rare find in these parts. One has to be prepared to pay the price for this type of specialty product. We're in the age of the $2 chicken wing, so it goes to show that everything is overpriced these days. With that said, it's fair for us to expect near-perfection when we pay a premium. There's little room for error. Fresh Catch is consistent. Consistently fresh, consistently clean and the service is consistently pleasant. It is a niche product though, so know what you're getting into. It may not be ideal for bringing the kids or the parents. It is a great place for friends, so if you have a crew of known poke or shellfish lovers, this is a great place to try.

    Loganberry Lemonade (Hartmans)

I adore this place! I went here for the first time last weekend before heading down to spare lanes with my husband and a couple friends. I have eaten Fresh Catch before but only via take out from the Williamsville location. This time we were just headed in for drinks at the bright and cozy Galley bar. They have happy hour specials which is so nice and rare to see in Buffalo (see my photos for the board with details). My husband and I each got a drink while we waited for our friends to arrive and played Connect Four. Obviously I crushed him. Three times. But like, whatever, no big deal. My trophy should be arriving in the mail any day now. My first cocktail was the Bruce Lychee with tequila. It was very purply! I enjoyed it too much and drank it very fast. Next I tried the Loganberry Lemonade - on the flip side of the cocktail list is a list of cocktails featuring liquor made at Hartmans Distilling! Love seeing that local love. The vibe and decor is great, and I can't wait for warmer weather when the big garage door windows will be open to the sidewalk and you can sit looking out at downtown Buffalo. Will definitely be back soon!

Spicy Tuna Poke Bowl Build Your Own Regular Bowl

Very good Poke Bowl. As a base, I had the spring mix with jasmine rice. The flavor of the Spicy Tune was great! I added the seaweed salad, Kimchi, sweet Potatoes and cucumber. On top I had the spicy Mayo and bean sprouts. The bowl was very filling and I could have some leftover if it was so delicious. 4 and not five starts because the bean sprouts tasted funny, almost like too chemically, which was a turn off. Also it was a little pricey ($16 for the bowl). The Spivey tuna was $2.50 extra, but still a little steep. I will go back and I do recommend this to others. A very tasty and filling poke bowl

The food is consistent and fresh. They're a bit pricy and portion sizes for the bowls seem smaller but with inflation it's understandable

I ordered miso soup along with the Las Vegas roll, which is a deep fried sushi roll with fresh salmon, crab meat, kimchi, and cream cheese tempura topped with eel sauce. It was pretty good. The roll had a nice crunch and the filling was rich and flavorful. The eel sauce on top leaned a little sweeter than I usually prefer, so I was grateful for the soy sauce on the side to balance it out. The restaurant also wasn't too busy, which made for a really nice quiet lunch at the bar. Staff was friendly and everything came out quickly. No complaints

The miso soup was nicely steamy but somewhat bland and watery. The side green salad was large, fresh and delicious. The sushi deluxe plate arrived with a gorgeous presentation on a square, wooden platter. Some of the chef's choices were fantastic: The salmon, smoked salmon, tuna and mackerel were superb; three were slightly dried out and hard - oops - and on my last piece, I found a pebble in the rice. These things happen. It's surprising they don't happen more often, given the harvesting process. I probably will try to make my next visit on a weekend, when the turnover is faster.

I have severe food allergies,…read moreincluding dairy, eggs, and gluten, and the only breakfast I ever get to eat is the one I make for myself at home. I honestly can't remember the last time I was able to order breakfast at a restaurant. While visiting Buffalo with my boyfriend in November 2025, his college friend spent the morning taking us to several restaurants trying to find a place where I could safely eat. After striking out everywhere else, Betty's was our last stop--and what a blessing it was! Alice, our host, was warm, friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared about making sure my food allergies were handled safely. I was able to order a bacon, "egg" and avocado sandwich made to accommodate my allergies, and it was incredible. I hadn't enjoyed a breakfast sandwich from a restaurant in over a decade! It was so delicious that I went back again before leaving Buffalo and even ordered another sandwich to take home. For anyone living with food allergies, you know how rare it is to find a restaurant that truly understands safe food preparation while still serving amazing food. I'm from New York City, and I still haven't found a place that compares. 1,000 stars! I can't recommend Betty's highly enough.

The vibe is so right, in fact this restaurant has a personality of its own, which matches its amazing eclectic selection of delicious foods. On beautiful sunny Spring, Summer or Autumn days you can enjoy the neighborhood on the patio or you can always choose to dine in one of their several comfortable dining rooms all of which feature art (Some of which you can purchase ) that will get you leaving your seat for a closer look. We were rewarded with two truly special brunch items ... a layered "French toast" that I stared at as a diner near me ate hers and an orange infused pair of delicious waffles. They were perfect and filling (This ended up as our only meal on this beautiful Sunday.). The quality of service matched the food ... we lingered soaking in the atmosphere just enjoying life at Betty's. When asked by neighbors where we went for brunch we said "Betty's" and they smiled knowingly. Once you're familiar with Betty's you've found a friend.

I wanted to love my fig/prosciutto/balsamic pizza and their version of a Caesar salad, but I just didn't--too salty and the flavors were just off for me. I'm sure others will enjoy that pizza and salad). Chocolate-orange gelato was delicious. Huge portions of everything! You won't leave here hungry. Was sad we couldn't take anything home as we were traveling. I wish that they had had their cuccidati (Italian fig cookies) on hand in the restaurant--which they apparently sell at their bakery at another site--I wanted to see if they were as good as the ones I make! Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to visit their bakery as we left town the next day. Service was very attentive and pleasant (my Scottish boyfriend thought it was over-the-top, but he's used to minimal service standards, ha ha). Definitely can tell this is a family business--and as someone who also is a part of a family Italian restaurant, I enjoyed this aspect. Would visit again if I was local--and I'd make sure I had the minestrone and a meaty pasta dish--or I'd even come just to have a cocktail and bread with the dip!
